You mean, France doesn't have dirty old buildings?I've seen plenty in Paris, not too few in Strasbourg.Amiens? Verdun? Lille? Who is jealous?I've I need a dose of Frenchness, I can make myway to Quebec or Louisiana......dirty old buildings andsome new ones along the way!
I'm not a French basher. Where I live I can easily make my way downto New Orleans and drink and feast and watch the crazy world parade from my balcony room in the Vieux Carre. Why would I need to go to France? New Orleans is a bit of France and Spain and the Caribbean all to be found in a hundred square blocks.
I used to only watch Rick’s shows but I’ve been addicted lately to his live zoom meetings on Monday nights. He goes through several videos and then will pause here and there to tell you fun facts or behind the scenes info that never made it to TV. It really changed how much I enjoyed his show positively.

Hello Rick I am a Traveler My first trip to Europe 1963 Wonderful have been travelling ever since Love watching your travel videos A lovely trip down memory lane Keep on travelling,
The rest of Europe is doing that all the time and they don't speak a word of French or even English. People are welcoming and if you take the time you can experience that and make French friends easily.
Well... not like he does it every day so I think the lesson there is she does this every single day she couldn't afford to keep swallowing if she did she'd be an alcoholic LOL
This wonderful Travel Guide is intelligent, interesting, educational and charming. Rick Stevens is eminently Simpático, cultured and with a perfect eye for all that is best in the places he shows. Thank you, Rick, I have been to some of those places but was not able to discover what you offer and that I can enjoy now, thank to you.

My parents are planning a trip to France this year and your videos are very helpful. They have been my favourite programme (favorite program) since 2006. I wish I had known about them when I lived in Europe.
Last summer me and my parents had a summer vacation with our boat. We live in the Netherlands, Brabant to be exact and went all the way to the Dordogne, Cahors by inland waters. And really its the most relaxing and fun way to see hidden gems of our lovely Europe. Best vacation I've had with my parents 🙂
Husband and I have been on RS tour of Paris in October 2017 and RS tour Paris and the heart of France April 2024 - both completely different and so enjoyable

Grazie Dottor Rick Steves per tutti i suoi documentari geografici! Non potrei vedere tutte queste belle località che lei descrive con perizia. Grazie ancora
I'd love to do the boat trips on French canals. Although I'm not a wine fancier, I enjoyed learning about the process & developing appreciation. The medieval hospice is fascinating. My favorite segment is the one on Cluny & Fontenay Abbeys. I love those silent, haunting, yet spiritual corridors where monks once walked, worked, & prayed. Interesting to learn how the monasteries set the stage for Europe's industrial base, though its ultimate fulfillment still centuries away. I was born in Germany in 1957, retaining no memories. Aside from that, however, I've never been to Europe. Envisioning myself in France, as I fantasized while watching this program, is simply mind-boggling to me. I'm not sure I could focus or even comprehend anything, as I'd be so awestruck, feeling I was in a dream! I DO so hope I get there someday. In the meantime, I'm trying to learn French!
AOA sir Rick, you are a great source for me in learning English. You speak so gently and clearly rather than other Americans especially the Hollywood's actors etc. Thus, I am your student and teachers all over the world, love and care their students. France is an amazing beautiful country .... heaven for the tourists!
I LOVE RICK STEVE'S NARRATION AND PRESENTATION. WHAT A CLASS-PERSON!...SINCE 2016!
Spent a week on a rent boat in a canal in Burgundy. Easy, lovely. French people are nice. 10/10 would do it again.
The bad soil being good for the vines because it builds the character of the grape is the most French thing I've ever heard. And I'm a French teacher.
True
😂❤

It's a shame the French have to live there, eh?
