Working at the PA Ren faire I don't usually get out of the shop to see all the new things happening or popping up on the grounds. Next time you are on grounds I would love if you could stop into The Emporer's Needle up in Swashbuckler's Grove and check out our new expansion and newest products!
We noticed you guys expanded when we were there on Pyrate Invasion Weekend! If we new this info before opening weekend, we would have included it when we were in that area of the shire. We’ll definitely stop in to check it out and say hello!
@@FromtheHobbitHole we did! The first stop we made was the pirate area, just like you said 😅 We're gonna go again for the last weekend on October 29th. Hope you guys make it out!
I love your yearly videos and look forward to them all year long. There truly is no better resource for getting excited about the PRF and learning about all the new stuff.
You are very welcome. It’s nice to see you guys having a more permanent presence at PRF. We definitely will come back! We always love seeing what you have imported from the UK to sell to us Americans 😉
Thanks for the tips Nathan and Haley!!!!! These will be helpful when I visit the Faire later on this year!!!!!!! I hope that I can see you guys when I visit!!!!!!
I just want to say thank you so much for these videos. Ever since Covid and my move across the country, I haven't been able to go to the faire and these videos make me feel so happy.
My choral group from high school called madrigals used to sing at the pa ren faire every year.We rented pro costumes n all. It was so fun. Great memories 😊
Meg's pottery is so awesome! You guys really make me want to roadtrip to PA for faire! The PA faire grounds look absolutely stunning. LOVE the new Bosworth!!! Does PRF have campgrounds?
Hey! So I'm actually the awkward flower crown girl and I wanted to say I really appreciate how you didn't have me featured too much (I appear briefly in the background). It was only my second day working there and I was so awkward and I'm not used to being filmed at all. I believe I could have appeared a few times in the background, but I think you could tell by my actions how I felt. Hopefully in the future I get to see you guys again, and actually be more comfortable! You two are the sweetest couple! 💜🐹
Hey! Thanks for commenting and telling us how you were feeling. Truthfully, we did not notice any awkwardness from you at all. You were very sweet and friendly to us! ☺️ We’ll definitely say hello throughout the season whenever we pass your cart of crowns!!
I just used the information from this video to make a custom daily writ for Oct 14/15. Should be super helpful to find all the new stuff plus all the shows, shops, and food I already love! Thanks again!
I'm excited to check out some of the shops you featured. I've been going to the faire at least twice a year since 2015, and I feel like there's so many places I always pass and never explore. I'm going to try to see as much as I can every time I go😁 Thanks for the video, it was really enjoyable to watch!
On a Facebook based around the PA Ren Faire, someone mentioned that there's a D&D themed escape room somewhere on the grounds. Did you happen to see it and if so, how much does it cost to enter?
@@elizabethfromm7915 How much does it cost to enter the room? Other questions I have are the following 1. Aside from the shoppe with the wooden swords, is La Forge still operational? Besides the Pyrate Ship and that one building with the open gates that used to hang shields and weapons for sale, La Forge is one of my favorite places to buy medieval weapons. 2. Are turkey legs still being sold (you can't go to a Faire without having at least ONE turkey leg, right?) 3. My mother and I have already purchased our tickets and printed them out. But since we'll be attending BOTH Saturday and Sunday during the Wizarding Weekend, will we need to purchase our Sunday tickets online as well? 4. On the off chance bad weather arises; is there ANY way to get a refund, should the Faire close for the day? Finally, will there be any new musicians/bards performing at the Shire this year? I miss seeing groups like the Empty Hats or Tartanic performing, when they used to come around here. Part of me secretly wishes Blackmore's Night would come perform at the faire (they're my favorite group)
@@SilverScribe85 I swear I wrote out a whole reply, and it never posted! 1. LaForge is still operational, they just rebuilt the demo booth for this season as well! (Delighted Eye that was featured here was bought by them!) 2. Turkey Legges are still sold 3. You need to purchase separate tickets for all days you wish to attend 4. I'm unsure of the refund policy, you would need to check the website for that
@@SilverScribe85 we did cover the escape rooms on the shire back in 2021. You can see that vlog here: Medieval Avengers Assemble at the PA Ren Faire ua-cam.com/video/cpdYO94CPj8/v-deo.html As for your other questions, Elizabeth Fromm answered them with great accuracy. There is the ability to get a refund on your tickets if needed, or to change them to a different date, but there are fees involved. The PRF website has all the details on that. If you love Tartanic, then go see Celtic Legacy. There are a lot of similarities between them, and they are there all season. Some of the other new musical groups will NOT be there on Wizarding Weekend (like Ship Shape).
If you ever make your way to the eastern part of PA during this time of year, it is definitely worth checking out! Do you have a local Faire in Oregon that you go to?
@@FromtheHobbitHole Yes. The Oregon Renaissance Faire is in Canby OR every June; Canterbury Renaissance Faire in Silverton OR every July; and Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire for one weekend in September right after the farmer cuts the hay has it bailed and in the barn in Kings Valley OR. Shrewsbury is the oldest of these faires.
I haven't been to the faire in over 20 years and we are going later this month. Any must-see/must-eat/must shop recommendations for a group of adults? (we are only going to be there for 1 day)
It really depends on what you like! We’ll try to give you a good array of options so you can figure out what fits your tastes. So here we go… Food: we HIGHLY recommend The Huntsman Sandwich and the Mushroom Brie Hand Pie (our 2 current favorites). The Archer’s Grilled cheese is a nice option, and you can never go wrong with their scotch eggs! Shops: we are partial to Tomboy Togs (a roving merchant that sells pins, keychains, and other items out of a basket) and Ironworks Pottery because they carry our merch. 😉 Earthly Leather Designs, Perth Pewter, Emperor’s Needle, and both locations for Chimes and Charms are shops we love to frequent because they have great, handcrafted items. The Hallowed House and Shepherds Knot have some really unique items to check out. Seriously, just plan to take an hour or so out of your day to peruse as many shops/vendors you can! Shows: this is toughest to answer because it really depends on what you want to see. Also, the weekend you come could determine which performers are there. If you’re there for the adult (r rated) entertainment, we’ve heard that Arthur Greenleaf Holmes is good, along with Tea Time. If that’s not your thing, and you want more family friendly variety shows, Don Juan & Esmerelda, Pipsy Pinwheel, Whose Jest, Celtic Legacy, and the Mudskippers are good choices. If you like to watch stage fighting, English World Wrestling, the Boarshead Brawl, Tournament of Arms and Ultimate Joust are great (the last 2 are storyline shows). Our suggestion, look these shows/acts, and vendors up on PRF’s website and read up on them to see if they are things you’re group will personally like. Moreover, just have fun with whatever you choose to do!

Have watched this video and was wondering how did this faire get so lucky to have so many solid structures. Went to one last Saturday and they did have a number of them but most vendors sold their wares from under a pop up canopy. That kind of takes away from the authenticity. The outsides were so well kept there in PA. They were painted well and in good repair. What’s their secret?
The PA Faire is over 40 years old. That’s given them plenty of years to create all of that infrastructure that younger Faires don’t always have. Some Faires rent their space so having permanent structures is out of the question. Over the last several years, the PA Faire and the vendors that own buildings have all been updating the structures with a fresh coat of paint. There are guests vendors at PA that will use pop up canopies since they are only there for a weekend or two, so it still happens here.
