Pennsic is its own, totally separate event. It is intended as a camping event, where you come to stay for most/all the time, during the event. As such, the smallest entry pass you can get covers you for a week of entry... for somewhere over $100. If you need a tent, we can help you with that, too. We love newcomers, 99% of the time. If you'd like any help getting started, genuinely; please let me know. I'll gladly help you get in touch with your nearest group.
Europe has higher standards when it comes to historical re-enactments. People spend a lot of money on the costume and make sure it is as historically accurate as possible. Monoting the footbol masks to medival helmet with silver tape would make cring everyone who has dealt with European reenactors.
They have fun and it's popular in the States. No need to act high and mighty just because our European Larp has a higher costume/prop standard. ;) As long as they have fun, it doesn't really matter.
@@Kiterou But it's not just about having fun and prop standard. Such events in Europe also have a large educational element, they support a lot of craftsmen who produce things from the era in a traditional way, help save monuments, etc. From what I can see, these American events are just running and smashing eachother with a rubber bat, and its kinda kringe...
@@marsjanskimaszynista4626 But it's not about education for them. It's not reenactment. It's mostly Larp, and it's done for fun. Do you think the Drachenfest or Mythodea are done for historical education? They're not. Nor are most small cons throughout Europe. There's nothing cringe about it. It'd be a different thing if education was their goal, but nothing in this video suggests it is. This is a pseudo-medieval Larp festival and it does what it says. If you're searching for things that help preserve history and focus on education and preservation, you shouldn't go on videos documenting Larps just to shame them.

How have I lived here for years and never heard of this before. I wonder if this is part of the medieval arts festival? I’m so in when this COVID thing gets figured out.
Pennsic is its own, totally separate event. It is intended as a camping event, where you come to stay for most/all the time, during the event. As such, the smallest entry pass you can get covers you for a week of entry... for somewhere over $100. You have to wear some sort of vaguely Medieval clothing, but if you talk to local Scadians beforehand (we're very active on FB!), we can help you get set up for it. If you need a tent, we can help you with that, too. We love newcomers, 99% of the time. If you'd like any help getting started, genuinely; please let me know. As a european LARPer and reenactor, I'm suffering while watching this... Like for real... what the heck is that "Festival" ?
What is your favorite event?
