The Colorado Ren Faire has shuttles that will take you from the parking areas to the front entrance to the Faire. Do that and save yourself a lot of walking.

As a native who has attended this faire many times, I'm glad you got to experience it. However, I can't believe you had a whole section about food and didn't mention the turkey legs! Nothing else will make you feel more medieval than getting a gigantic roasted turkey leg and a tankard of beer!

I went to the Colorado ren faire a couple of years back. It was the most beautiful location for a ren faire I have ever seen. To have it at the foot of a mountain in such a quaint little town was incredible. It felt like I was actually in a fantasy land. It was such a great experience.

I'm lucky to live only about 20 minutes south of this festival and go every year. It's the only Ren Fest I've ever been to, but I've asked many performers and out-of-towners and most say it's one of the best in the country. If you ever come back I recommend the spinach pies as a tasty snack, and the knave sandwich as a proper meal. You'll have to keep your eyes open because like you said they're only sold at one stall. I also think the beer prices are super reasonable compared to most events.

Some information on Colorado Renaissance festival. The 60 acres is the public Fair portion. The 338 acres number is the entire property, Parking/camping for the staff. There is shuttles that take you from the various parking lots to the Entrance. Although the Surrounding village is 16th century, they have Themed weekends. My favorite being Celtic week.

Let me start by saying I like your outfit and especially your makeup. This is my first visit to your channel so I look forward to perusing some more of your vlogs. The Colorado Faire looked fun. Almost like a simi permanent site. They should provide transportation from the parking lot to the gate if it is that far away. Maybe donkey carts for groups and other period correct conveyances. I believe I went to the very first Renaissance Faire near Hollywood in the 60’s. It was started by a group of teachers and actor types and was associated with a local radio station, KPFK. It has grown to be this phenomenon which is great to see. The one suggestion I have for you is to study a bit about the period and try and incorporate that into your character. We do still have a Faire in Southern California if you haven’t been you should visit.

You did an amazing job with this presentation of the C.R.F.
One thing I'd like to add, if it hasn't already been said (a lot of comments I didn't read), but please please please! stay hydrated!!! I don't know how many people I see EVERY year being treated for dehydration, especially those from out of state. People passing out in the bathrooms and some so severe they are ambulanced out. Remember you are at an elevation and some times dry heat that still requires water water water. By all means, please crush a cup of wine, ale, mead, whatever, but PLEASE remember the water. The park is EXCEPTIONAL when it comes to safety and the well being of its constituents.

You do know that they have shuttle buses that run around the different parking areas to shuttle people to and from the fairs entrance and they run on a pretty regular basis, I do believe every 10 to 15 minutes. But everything else you described was very accurate.

Bring good walking shoes, and drink lots of water! Colorado is so beautiful, so if you go for the faire definitely go to some other places as well

You are right I went with a friend (a new kinda friend/not close) and she seemed bored the whole time and it was a drag to be there with her. I vowed to now only go with my husband or maybe a group with the understanding from the start that we don’t have to stay together lol. I want to stay in the group. But, others don’t lol. It’s just funny how the wrong people you go with can really drag the vibes down. Your friends seem amazing!

The "400 acres" number probably includes the parking lot and the land in and around the faire... the 35 acres is probably the actual size inside the boundaries. :) Most renfaires try to use that sneaky measurement to sound like they are 5x (10x?) larger than they really are.

I started going to the Colorado Renaissance Faire when I was a kid. Back in the day, it was HARD CORE Renaissance, the SCA crowd was intense, and the entertainment extremely bawdy. At some point all that changed, and now it's more like a Fantasy Faire themed crafts market than before. More family friendly, but it lost that edge that made it what it was. A shame.

As you start traveling the renfair circuit you're going to notice that there's a number of vendors who also follow along on the way.
The vendors rent spaces from each of these venues and if they don't make up the cost of the rent, they're not making any money.
Not to mention most of these items are bespoke and these people need to pay bills.
I hope at some point you get a chance to catch a Washing Well Wenches show.
There are many of us who can actually tell where you are at just by who the pickle man is.
Always do your shopping on the last day of the event.
This is when vendors have to make or break.
No one wants to load up all that crap and schlep it to the next location.

I've been going to the CO ren faire for years and can say that if you're looking for a quick filling meal that's cheap, the smashed potatoes and corn on the cob a/o sausage on a stick is the way to go. Pretty cheap but very filling. I can usually get through an entire day at the faire with just that and water.

I use to go to the Colorado Ren Faire when it was much smaller long ago. The parking wasn't a problem back then. My main reason for going was to see the crafts people. The blacksmith making all sorts of metal objects, the glass blower, and others. All of which you didn't cover! I hope they're still there! And the performances. I don't go anymore because of the heat (not much they can do about that), and I've become much more introverted over the years (to my liking), so I don't go many places where their are large groups of people. But I thank you for giving me a peak, and seeing everyone enjoying themselves!

The weather is mercurial, it can get blazingly hot (good time to shop), and it can POUR (literal creeks in the streets). But I love the atmosphere and the people who work it are SO amazing and bring so much to the experience.
On the clothing front, did you check out Noblesse Oblige? She is our favorite crafter at the fair and her stuff is amazing - but it IS pricey. Quality is incredible (have pieces from 20 years ago that look and feel new).

Are you guys gonna do FanX this year or will you be gone by then? I lived the majority of my life about 20 minutes from the Texas faire. I basically grew up there alongside my best friends who would camp every year.
Sadly though, it’s totally changed in the last 5 years or so. It’s grown so popular and so expensive that it’s basically become a tourist/circus attraction that’s lost a lot of its magic. Between the insane crowds and even more insane price hikes, it’s just not the same as it was when we went when we were younger.
My husband and I just had to relocate to Colorado due to military mumbojumbo, and I was curious about the faire here. This honestly makes me so excited to go this summer! We are totally new to the area so hopefully I can reignite my love for faire in a smaller more intimate spot and make some Colorado friends 🖤🥺

I haven't been to any sort of Renaissance event in years but I do wish I could go. Life just has gotten in the way but thank you for uploading these videos, it has helped with the void.

Yes our fair can get hot... unless you get a pm rainstorm that can get intense. Usually didn't last long but the temperature drop can be dramatic.

I always thought it was funny when some guys showed up in storm trooper costumes at this ren faire last time I went. They didn't used to let you have swords out like that.

Oh, man! I have not been to this Ren Faire since 2003 when I was stationed in Colorado. Some great memories attending this Faire and really need to make the pilgramige to get back there.

I heard this year that the GA ren faire is adding the fall season back, which thank goodness, because it’s too hot in the summer. I hadn’t been in at least decade until this year, and I was pleasantly surprised. I used to be one of a small contingent of people that went all out and dressed up. I was a weird kid who was obsessed with all things fantasy, and I had parents who could sew and build swords and wings and everything, so I went hard. I couldn’t believe that the majority of people there were dressed up! It was so much fun. I think that must be a factor in bringing it back in the fall; it’s just too hot to cosplay in anything but fairy stuff. Which is a real shame, considering the big money (and a lot of the fun) is in full armor and leather and layers and heavy swords to carry around. I really, really hope they do come back in the fall.

I go the opening weekends, and it's always packed, so you wait in the line for 30+ minutes for food. I feel like the food is overpriced for what you get. 😢

Something to keep in mind when you go. If you can find someone who can buy the tickets at 2 for 1 such as military appreciation weekend. Have them buy tickets for you. The tickets can be used on any weekend the Renaissance Faire is open.

I would like to go here. I have lived in Houston my whole life and have been to the faire nearby many times. I usually get severe migraine from all the dust, pollen, and probably the food (not even drinking alcohol). It would be nice to experience the faire in a different climate.

The Colorado Ren Faire is one of the nicest in the country. As is the Maryland Faire. But Texas Ren Faire (TRF) is the biggest and best. 50th year this year. 400+ shoppes and 11 stages I think. Attendance over the many weekend is 700,000 or more. It's huge but is so much fun. Halloween weekend is my favorite as most people are in costume.
