- Filmed this from the hotel room in Santa Monica, prior to my interview with Hulu- my green good luck finger must have worked.
I'm getting close with the design, finger 4.0 has turned out better than I had hoped. Easier to build, easier to maintain, better looking (optional middle bumper), and more comfortable.
I'll release alpha OpenSCAD code soon, on git and thingiverse. It works great for my dimensions, but more work is needed to test the parametrics; ensuring it will work well for others' measurements.

Hello, I am ordering a 3d printer just to be able to create your knick fingers for two of my fingers on my left hand. Do you know when you will release the files for the Finger 4.0? I love how it looks! Great Job!
Awesome! I'm hoping to soon, but might need to hire a programmer to help at some point. I have a pretty intense day job, and am struggling to find the time lately :(

can you play the guitar or bass with that 3d finger prosthetic and how can I get one for my pinky finger??
Doesn't quite work for guitar yet unfortunately, the hinges don't stay in place well enough for the pressure and nuance needed. A fixed hinge version made all in rubber (like a socket with a ball on the end) can be used to fret one string. It absolutely works for pinkies, but is DIY - you may be able to find a local maker shop you can pay to make one!
