Hi joy! Thank you for this post! I’m a holistic nutritionist and I love watching and recommending your videos to clients! Looking forward to the next one 😊💕
This is wonderful and I've been using coconut milk with Collagen and Matcha and Maca. I either make it into a green smoothie or a blended bowl with chia and super seed blends and chopped almonds So good!
Thanks so much Joy.... I can imagine the beautiful taste of that matcha latte🍵...with the additional of collagen, yeah...you right, why can't I ever think bout that! I should try mix the collagen into my matcha now 😅😂
My pleasure! You don't even taste it which is great :) However, Genuine Health does make some yummy flavoured collagen too which is a great water booster.
Ya it's just the lighting - I'm more vibrant in person too, haha! ;) It's beautiful green colour. I use raw, organic matcha, ceremonial grade: www.matchaninja.com/ The brand is Matcha Ninja. Keep in mind "ceremonial matcha" is not a regulated term.
Thank you for the recipe! Want to drink more matcha but haven't found one I love yet. Will give this one a go. I do have a separate question. What are your thoughts on the Keto diet?
I think the keto diet works great for some people and not others. Some people genetically do NOT lose weight on a low carb / high fat diet. However, others can benefit from a therapeutic diet such as this for certain types of cancer, autism, epilepsy etc. I have a playlist on my channel called "JOY ON TV". Just scroll down to videos 6 and 7 in that playlist and you'll see 2 segments I did on Cityline talking about the keto diet.
I have a capresso frothing pot, i make my lattes in it. I also use almond mik and honey for either a matcha latte or sometimes i make a latte with just cinnamon and spices. I've been wanting collagen but want plant sourced. thanks for the info, love your videos.
That sounds awesome! I really want to get a frothing pot too. I have an espresso machine but sometimes I want something faster. Ya collagen is only available in fish and bovine. There isn't a plant source because plants do not make collagen. Collagen is the scaffolding of our body so it's only possible to get from animal source.
I use Probase Sports Nutrition Collagen Peptides Powder, which is Grass-Fed, Pasture Raised, Pesticides Free, Non-GMO and it is third party verified by UL (VERY IMPORTANT). It is tasteless and odorless and it dissolves with pretty much everything. I have been using it for six months and there is no going back. Their price is also fair and square. My skin is glowing, my nails are strong again and my hair grows like crazy and strong. I also notice my joints don't hurt as much anymore (I am in my mid 40s).
What brand are you using? Are you allergic? You can simply omit the honey and bee pollen in this recipe or if you want a natural sweetener then you could add coconut sugar or maple syrup. If you are familiar with matcha's lovely rich flavour you might not need sweetener at all. The coconut butter I added has a nice natural sweetness to it.
Hi Joy!!! Thank you so much for sharing this latte recipe!!! I have a question, although it’s not really related to this video recipe...but you mentioned you don’t drink cow’s milk and I don’t either but I was wondering if Vienna does! Our daughter is 2 and hates cow’s milk but her pediatrician wants me to try giving it to her...
You're welcome Tania! Nope, we never gave V cow's milk because we don't drink it in our house so I didn't think it made sense to start buying something we don't even consume when I know we can get calcium from many other sources. That being said, when I was weaning her from BFing, she did have organic goat milk which she loved. We'd give it to her before bed, but we don't do it anymore -- it was really just a phase. I prefer goat milk to cow, it's closer in structure to breast milk. She does like cheese though (my hubs LOVES his cheese -- the apple doesn't fall far from the tree), and has manchego (sheep milk cheese), goat cheese and organic white cheddar. Hope that helps!
Joyous Health It does help and thank you so much!!! I felt guilty not giving it to her and I try to snick it into pancakes but she can tell! It’s funny you mentioned manchego cheese because it’s our favorite cheese😋
I made the latte. Thank you for the tip about adding honey. I do need a little sweetness. My daughters doc is also concerned that I’m not giving my daughter milk products daily. My daughter gets constipated and complains of a stomach ache after eating cheese. Her pediatrician recommended that I get her lactose free products, but my gut tells me that if her body is reacting to the dairy she shouldn’t have it whether it’s a lactose issue or not. I’m going to try sheep cheese for her and see if it helps. Thoughts?
Can’t wait to try this! How often do you like to have collagen? You mention that you like to add to your night time tea, so twice a day? Any particular reason why you take at night?
I hope you love it! I don't do it twice per day. If I take it in the morning then I won't put it in my tea at night. No particular reason, it just became a habit and I drink tea a few times per day.
TheAthanik here’s a bunch: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/?term=collagen+skin+moisture it’s pretty impressive for skin hydration, youthfulness etc. I talk about it more in my blog post too: www.joyoushealth.com/27280-blog-matcha-collagen-latte Most people will find a difference taking it daily in about 4-5 weeks but even less too. I noticed a difference in about 7-10 days. That’s why collagen has so much hype around it right now because the research is pretty exciting. Happy reading!
Ewwww! No matter how good it is I’m not eating dried ground bone hide. Our bodies know exactly what to do when we age. Eat well and exercise, be moderate. Yuck this trend is disgusting!!
To each their own I suppose! :) But keep in mind the reason this trend is taking off is because the research is really compelling. The collagen I used is from the "skin" of wild fish from the North Atlantic (sustainably sourced) - not bovine hide. That being said, this brand does make a bovine one as well which is great because then you have two options.

Awesome video, very informative. Just bought this same brand of collagen today, gonna give your recipe a try 🥰😊
m1nt perfect! You’ll love it. Most people see results very quickly!

Hi, Joy. Thank You. I will try this recipe. I'm dying to know what kind of blender you are using... brand - style. Thanks
REDJEWEL In my office studio kitchen I have a Blendtec, in my home I have a Vitamix. I prefer the latter 👍🏻😊
Joy, do you use ceremonial matcha for your latte? On camera, the matcha you are using is a duller green color - not sure if it is due to the lighting.

Can you take matcha, collagen and bee pollen when pregnant? Those are few of the things I stopped eating when I realised I was pregnant.
Thank you Joy
So do you recommend taking collagen at night

Judie Kammhauser that’s great you found something that works for you!
I have digestive upset with honey. Would you recommend bee pollen?

@@taniamichailidoutawfik Don't feel guilty at all. Cow's milk dairy is not an essential drink for a healthy child.
Joyous Health Great! Thank you so much again😁

Would I be able to just use coconut oil if I don't have coconut manna?
You won't get the same creamy texture because the oil will separate from the liquid but you'll get the health benefits of coconut oil!
Yes, the coconut oil works. It doesn’t separate once all the ingredients are blended. I only use coconut oil for my hot drinks.
" There is solid research proving it's incredible for skin health and so much more. " Could you link to some of that research?
TheAthanik are you asking about collagen or matcha?
collagen

Thank you for replying Joy. I had no idea it came as a fish option. I will look into it!
