Floor is what the Vikings had in mind when they were dying on the battelfield and a Valkyrie would arrive, singing, in her chariot, carrying them to Valhalla. And now you know why they weren't afraid of dying in battle. :)
Those of you that have been commenting that I am now "hooked" are absolutely 100% correct. I am excited and scared at the same time. I am excited that I have discovered this awesome band and now crave Nightwish. I am scared because I feel like, I will eventually run out of Nightwish to listen to. P.S. And yes, I know I said "Ghost love Story" instead of "Ghost love Score". I apologise.
You won't! A word of caution though - there's a lot of disputes about the singers among the fans. Don't get dragged into it if you can avoid it :( Tuomas is great at writing music to fit the singers. But what was written for, say, Tarja, won't be as good if Floor sings it Just enjoy the tales they weave ... and if you listen to The Poet And The Pendulum, be warned. It's dark. Tuomas wrote it about the departure of Tarja.
I promise You won't run out Nigtwish to listen to. Been with them since 1996 😊...Still going strong...Soon coming more.(Spring 2020) (C) Floor Jansen, Newsletter: For now I think it’s time to listen to some more new Nightwish songs in preparation of the rehearsals. They have now started and soon I will join the guys. They start with the instruments, then I come in with some vocals, and then Troy comes in with his voice, uilleann pipes, whistles and guitar and…well. I am thrilled to work on new stuff and already can’t wait to share more but you know that we like to build up the suspension a bit haha!
Got like 20 years to catch up on, 200 ish songs, and a new album on the way heh. Safe to say it'll be a while before u run out of new songs. Even then you will enjoy the ones u know for quite some time.
Nightwish is unbelievable live. I've seen them twice, both with the current lineup, and it's a totally immersive experience. The fans are pretty hardcore, so everyone's happy to be there, and it's like you're all travelling to the same fantasy world together.
They are. I saw them with Tarja back in the day and with Floor a while back and they both are insane live. Different but equally fantastic. Like Floor might just be the best female singer in metal and Tarja was (or is) just otherworldly. And as you said the fans are just incredible.
I have seen them live four times. Two times with current lineup. Ehen tho i miss tarja current singer is really good and i hope she stays in for a long time since tarja isnt coming back.
Saw Nightwish with Tarja, with Anette and with Floor two times...I liked all of the concerts but Floor was and is the best...she is amazing on stage...
Agree, except for Floor. I would say she's more an Amazon than Valkyrie, given her height and beauty, and Valkyries tend to be blonds. You're dead on with the others.
Hello. Since this is your first reaction to Nightwish. I will give you a short history speech, "The Ann Waychoff" speech (a short / concentrated history of the band): Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now still is. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just saw her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol I would like to recommend "Storytime" (Live at Wacken 2013) ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html Thank you.
@@bramilan For what I know (message from her husband Jim on NW Discord, on june 30), she's doing better, recovering at home. Hope she will return online soon.
NIGHTWISH IS POSSIBLY THE BEST LIVE BAND ON THE PLANET!!! AND FLOOR JANSEN IS A METAL GODDESS!!! Nightwish fans are among the most loyal, enthusiastic, and engaged fans you will find. We love to share their music with others and we support others in our Nightwish community. The live versions are generally the most beloved so always try to react to a live version if possible. If you react to Nightwish we will watch them... here are some suggestions: “Song of myself” live at Wacken 2013 “Everdream” live at Wacken 2013 ”Romanticide” live at wacken 2013 “Sleeping sun” live at Tampere 2015 “Storytime” live at Wacken 2013 “Weak fantasy” live at Tampere 2015 “Kiss while your lips are still red” live at wembley 2015 “The poet and the pendulum” live at Wembley 2015 (you have to pause this one regularly because of copyright issues) “Ghost River” live at Wacken 2013 “The islander” live at Tampere 2015 “Yours is a empty hope” live at Tampere 2015 “ I want my tears back” live at wacken 2013 “Seven days to the Wolves” live at Wembley 2015 “Shudder before the beautiful” live at Tampere 2015 “Amaranth” live a wacken 2013 “Last ride of the day” live at Wacken 2013 “High hopes” live end of an era “The greatest show on earth” live at Tampere 2015 If you want to check out an song performed by their original singer Tarja watch: “The Phantom of the Opera” live End of a Era DVD it’s pretty amazing. And there are so many more... Anything from the live shows at wacken 2013, wembley 2015, or Tampere 2015 are great though Floor seemed a bit vocally fatigued in the wembley show. It was the last show of a huge tour to support their album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful”. The one song from wembley that is a absolute must listen is “The Poet and the Pendulum”. In my opinion this is the greatest song Tuomas has ever written and when performed live with Floor it is as emotionally gripping and inspirational as music gets. The arrangement, the lyrics, the instrumental performance, and Floor’s vocal perfection are mind blowing.
They are simply amazing live..... But Sabaton's got a better live act. Saw Nightwish with Sabaton opening for them (had no idea who Sabaton was at the time) and they completely stole the show.
Mad Hatter 1 second ago TNT, your mission- should you accept the challenge, is to go down this amazing Rabbit hole. You will emerge with a new appreciation for music. Nightwish is an experience. As you have seen, they go places effortlessly. They have a massive catalogue, music ranging from heavy, to folksy, to balladsy to pop like. You can do every song from That Wacken show and be completely satisfied. But wait, that's not all, They also have 3 other awesome concerts to view-... Tampere, Wembley and End of An era... Welcome to the Nightwish family enjoy the ride....
Floor’s vocal range is crazy she can go from operatic vocals to death metal growls. Next reaction from them should be greatest show on earth live from Finland
I've seen them twice here in the US. The show is always amazing. Their professionalism as musicians is demonstrated through the perfection of their playing. You have only touched the tip of the iceberg with Floor's vocals on this. She's clearly one of the best in the world overall. Here are some songs to listen to to get a feel for her diversity: Your's is an empty hope (listen for her growls in the chorus) live from the Nightwish Cruise, Romanticide (from Wakken), Greatest Show on Earth (Live in Tampere). Also, their bass player has a great voice too. Some of the songs he's featured on include: The Islander, Kiss While Your Lips are Still Red, and Phantom of the Opera (with their original singer, Tarja). Enjoy!
I saw Nightwish live in April 2018, with probably their best setlist yet and it was probably the best concert I've ever gone to and ever will go to in my entire life.
Welcome to the Nightwish train my friend. I go hooked this year and absolutely love their sound. Fave songs include Shudder before the Beautiful, 7 days to the Wolves and The Greatest Show on Earth but really any Nightwish song is good. Especially when sung by Floor Jansen. Look forward to more Nightwish reactions from you. As others have said Nightwish fans are hardcore but a wonderful group of people.
Welcome to the nw family. The band friendship is pure emotion on stage. Floors vocalcolours are beautiful. I am falling in love everytime i hear nightwish songs. Every song is a journey. Feel it, bro. All songs from wacken 2013 are amazing.
Welcome to Nightwish. I have seen them live in 2015 and 2018, and they were simply amazing. I am a senior citizen and a musician and I’ve seen many great concerts over the years, and Nightwish is right up there among the best. Also I’m a fan of Amy Lee. Also you might want to listen to Epica which features Simone Simons . Simone and Floor are longtime friends and Simone also has classical training and can hit amazing notes.
I came for the Floorgasm and it did not disappoint :D Welcome to Nightwish, you're in for a ride! These guys are probably one of the top 3 live bands out there right now , so I strongly suggest you always go for the live versions of their songs. These include "I Want My Tears Back", "Storytime", "Song of Myself" and "Last Ride of the Day", all live @Wacken 2013, as well as "Weak Fantasy" live @Tampere 2015 and "Seven Days to the Wolves" live @ Wembley 2016.
I have been a fan of the band for a long time now. Nightwish were one of the reasons why I became a fan of symphonic metal. I was lucky to see them perform in Michigan back in 2016 or 2017. It was an amazing show.
Thank You. What a beautiful first reaction. Wellcome, the journey has just began...It will be ride, just hang on...Floor will guide You...❤...Been about 10 times, in Nightwish concert, because they are from Finland too (Except Floor being Dutch and Troy English)...IMO Nightwish is the BEST live band in whole world. It's alway's a magical and Emotional journey to the genius mind of Tuomas Holopainen(Keyboard player). Who does 95% Nightwish music. Whole band is so Flawless...👊...This Wacken 2013 live setlist, You can pick any song and it blow's You away...
So do I ☺. They are now doing reharsal's for New album, Floor going to boy's in matter of days/weeks, with singing parts. New album coming spring 2020 and then they are on the road again. World tour said Tuomas...✊
(C) Floor Jansen, Newsletter: For now I think it’s time to listen to some more new Nightwish songs in preparation of the rehearsals. They have now started and soon I will join the guys. I have seen them live. There is no better band to see live. People cry in the audience and some seem to be in some kind of trance. If you see them live once, you become a lifetime fan. It's fantastic. You should react to: Nightwish - The greatest show on earth you have to choose between a) sold out wembley arena with a special guest and b) Live show from Tampere Finland where they boost the song with fireworks
The greatest live band in the world with the greatest singer! You are in for the ride of your life, and you won't be getting off! Romanticide from the same show at Wacken 2013 next! 🤘
Floor is amazing singer and Tuomas a fantastic composer. Greatest show on earth (live at Tampere) is also a treat. I've seen them many times because being a Finn myself you cannot escape the experience. 😆 Always a great atmosphere at their show.

This is a band that stole my heart from the very first moment when they just started. To think I was searching for the soundtrack of beauty and the beast animation movie and I saw the song (beauty and the beast) of nightwish in the list so I said I am going to give this a try...and boy was I sold...since than I'm a fan...been to many live concerts and I keep saying it..this is a band send from God. Tuomas is a lord of bringing emotions. I will always love them and this will always be the music where my heart goes every way :)
Once you start listening to Nightwish, it just becomes part of your being. Their live performances are out of this world. Welcome to the family!! Song of Myself and Romanticide from this show. Yours is an Empty Hope from the cruise. A Shudder Before the Beautiful and 7 Days to the Wolves. And of course Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest show on Earth.
I think your first reaction after the song is exactly what makes Nightwish so great. "It's quite the experience". It's not a song, not a concert, but an experience.
I'm from Spokane, WA. I've seen them here twice because my daughter loves me and got me tickets for my birthday! I love this band!!! They love their fans and they show it! And we love them!
Hi TNT, great reaction and welcome to Nightwish! They have decades of history and while having their unique symphonic metal style with lots of storytelling they are also quite diverse. So, if you come from a metal background you will probably dig their faster and/or heavier songs. Ghost Love Score was mostly on their soft side. Recommendations from me: Romanticide (Wacken 2013) Ghost River (Wacken 2013) Dark Chest of Wonders (Wacken 2013) Storytime (Wacken 2013) And just for good measure, a nice ballad for when you feel like it: Sleeping Sun (Tampere 2015). These are all from Floor Jansen, the lady you just witnessed, and arguably the most complete vocally, but there are two earlier singers with their own unique style, so much more to explore over time. If you want to catch a glimpse, do Phantom of the Opera from the End of an Era show.
I had the pleasure and luck to see Nightwish live many times in my time. I've seen them with all of their 3 previous and present singers. And although I thought for a long time, that I would never would love anyone new that much, like I loved Tarja Turunen, the original vocalist, Floor taught me better. Her I saw with Nightwish FIRST at Fortarock open air in the netherlands. I did not have any high expectations but went anyways. Boy, did she blew me away! I ordered Tickets for a whole concert 3 days later 😇😍🤘 Being at a Nightwish Show is an emotional rollercoaster. I cry, allways, always happy years of awe and love for this beautifull music, that is so full of power and athmosphere. My 4 cry to Songs are ghost love score, dead Boy 's Poem, the Poet and the pendulum and the greatest Show on earth. You absolutely should go to a concert and feel it for yourself!❤❤❤
Thank you for this temporary fix for my addiction to reactions to Nightwish. Given all the other comments, you already know they have a passionate worldwide family of fans, who will keep requesting more reactions to this unique band. so I won't suggest anything specific, but hopefully you'll learn that every single song from their Wacken Open Air 2013, Tampere 2015 and Wembley 2016 is well worth a reaction video. I have even watched a reaction video here in UA-cam to the entire Wacken 2013 show by an Australian guy, and it lasted nearly 2 hours. And another guy from the US reacted to one of Nightwish's official documentaries, which lasted well over 2 hours.
Dutch born Floor Jansen brought her singing talents to a next level by attending The Rock Academy in Tilburg (The Netherlands) for a formal vocal education. Most Dutch people didn''t really know much about her. Until she particpated this summer in Dutch tv show Beste Zangers (Best Singers) recorded every new season on Ibiza Island. The Dutch do now know what a Floorgasm means watching - ua-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/v-deo.html - Floor singing Phantom of The Opera (with Henk Poort) .
Glad you enjoyed the song! The singer of Nightwish, Floor Jansen, is a great singer. The keyboardist is the one who writes the songs and he is really good at it. Try songs like Yours is an empty hope (live at the cruise), Romanticide, I want my tears back or Song of myself (all live at Wacken- big metalfestival in Germany). My personal favorite is The poet and the pendulum (live at Wembley), but it is a long and personal song (please check out the backstory, it is about the feelings of guilt and sadness when they fired their first singer).
Her Highness The High Priestess Her Grace The Amazonian Valkyrie The Living Morgaine LaFey The Princess Of Darkness The Queen Of The Netherworld The Goddess Floor Jansen Bow, mortal!
I’ve had the privilege to see Nightwish live three times; twice with Anette, once with Floor. A Nightwish concert is an experience that you will never forget and never get enough of. Definitely a must-see if you get a chance.
Greetings from Finland and welcome to Nightwish family =) You are absolutely right, their show is one of a kind, it's like watching a play - even better. Keep up, cheers!
This percussion instrument on drummer's set is called "bar chimes". You really don't see it that often. Always pretty priceless to see smiles, jaw droppings and other stunned facial impressions when Floor sings those epic high notes at the end: "My fall... will be... FOR YOU!" Well, next maybe Song of Myself or Romanticide from the same Wacken Open Air concert 2013 or Yours Is An Empty Hope from Nightwish Cruise, Baltic Princess 2015.
I saw them live in Wembley in 2015, that show got released on DVD, it’s called Vehicle of Spirit and it was a phenomenal show, they have been my favourite band for 15 years. So to see them live was a dream come true, I’m seeing them again next year and it’s going to be amazing!
The Adventures of TNT I’m seeing them in Cardiff in the Uk, but I’m pretty sure they are doing a world tour next year, so check online for tickets near you :) They’re new album will be out next year so yeah :)
I really enjoyed watching your reaction. You strike a perfect balance between letting the music speak for itself and sprinkling in your own thoughts and opinions in a very genuine way.
I've always found that Nightwish creates a euphoric atmosphere. Whether you're listening to studio album work or live concerts. You're just transported to magical worlds where anything is possible.
I'm very glad you enjoyed Ghost Love Score so much! To this day I am shocked how few people know of this band, I myself having only discovered them about 7 or 8 years ago. I could be corrected but I think those things on the drum kit are chimes. At least that is what I would call them as a non music expert. A lot of fans suggest Nightwish's other lengthy, more complicated songs next . When I introduce people to Nightwish, after suggesting this live version of Ghost Love Score, I then steer them to their more standard structured songs like "Amaranth", "Elan", Nemo" "Storytime" and "I wish I had an Angel". all of which have both stellar live versions and official videos. If you like those more standard style songs you can branch out from there in any number of directions with Nightwish. I'm not suggesting the other people's opinions are wrong n wher to go next with Nightwish but I tend to go with the basics first and then go with more specialized songs after those. Pretty much like sports where mastering the basics comes before the highlight reel stuff. Whatever path you choose enjoy your Nightwish musical journey and thanks for your stellar reaction.
😂🤣 "This chick has some pipes, she can SING!" Laughed my ass off, saying "Brother, you no idea!" 😂 Welcome to Nightwish!!! I'm looking forward to your journey. Others have said the same, but it's worth repeating!
Love the reaction. One thing people seem to forget about. They have been playing for over a hour before this song came up. An still have that much energy an pipes.
I love to see this. People who enjoy Nightwish. I have been to a few of there concerts here in the Netherlands and for me it is the best band there is.They are now working on a new record and i can't wait to hear it. I enjoyed your comment and your happy face when you listened to the music. Thanks for your vid.
I went to see them in Amsterdam in 2018 on their "Decades" tour, it was indoors but still Pyro and two hours of fun 😎👍 Not any one song defines this band, all songs have a different vibe 🐱👤
You have just witnessed what we call a Floorgasm in that incredible high note that Floor hits. She has a far better vocal range than Amy Lee. Floor is classically trained and is a vocal coach. Glad you enjoyed it !
I was introduced at this kind of music almost 15 years ago, now I have 32. I always liked metallica, linking and other stuff like r&b, pop... But since I discovered Nightwish and Epica (plus Within Temptation and and Xandria) I can't stop listeting to this kind of music
Floogasm engaged. I was at the Wembley performance a few years ago, it's the best experience I've ever had seeing any band, and possibly the best night I've ever had.
The music is called symphonic metal and i very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded 1996 . So far the band has had 3 vocalists 1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005) 2 Anette Olzom (Schwedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012) 3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current) . * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she capable of. Band members Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics) Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals) Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen (The drummer) Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player) Troy Donockley ( a person who did not play on this song but is a multi instrumentalist from the UK) The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the worldtour a lot of what happened was recorded. The documentary is called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" (ua-cam.com/video/vhExkmWKMEU/v-deo.html ) As a next song to take a look at i would recommend their masterpiece "The poet and the pendulum" live at Wembley. Before you take a look at it i would recommend to take a look at the backstory of this song. This will make you appreciate it much more. here is the link ua-cam.com/video/gbn9GczYBkw/v-deo.html BTW that last note she just sang? Nightwish fans created a whole new word for when she does something impressive like that. We call it a Floorgasm. Welcome to the club and boy are you going to receive a lot of traffic on your channel. ;-)
Thanks for your reaction. Waken 2013 is one of the best concert I ever seen in my life. Incredible from first to last song. Please react Song of myself, then Ever Dream, She is my sin, the last rid of the day, ... than Two masterpiece: The poet and the pendulum and The greatest show on earth. Trust me. You entered in a new word.
I have seen them twice, Both with Annette (the previous singer). Both times in smaller club venues (Portland OR and Louisville KY). Even in the smaller venues, the show was amazing and the energy intoxicating. Seeing them with Floor is on my bucket list. They canceled my town the last tour, unfortunately, but I will make ti happen. Seeing this band live is a special, lifetime experience!
Multiple Floorgasms are a thing, people! Seriously TNT, if you get a chance, go see them in concert. To *me* Floor is an energy worker on the same level Freddie Mercury was. Floor was actually on hiatus cos she'd burned out when she got asked to join the band in a hurry ... like, "You're hired, here's tonight's set list". She said that this perFloormance was when she really knew she was back - Wacken 2013
Your done for now, about to be deluged by the Nightwish Nation and deservedly so, no band like this one. Next up should be "Poet and the Pendulum", best to do some background research first so you'll know what it's about. Good to find a YT version with lyrics to follow along. Literal Roller Coaster Ride. Then on to the ultimate: 'Greatest Show on Earth' live from Tampere 2015. A version with lyrics also available. About the creation of the solar system and the earth itself. Background narration by the incomparable Richard Dawkins. Long but well worth the epic adventure. Stay with it til'' the very end. Welcome to the world of Nightwish, enjoy the ride! Very much enjoyed your reaction.
Have you ever seen a lead singer totally have their audience in their hands? I have, but Floor takes it to another level, it's a thing where you not only visually see it happening, but you can feel it happening, through a video! She is truly an amazing talent. The one girl was so immersed into the song she was totally somewhere else. It's like they were in a musical trance. I'm not a huge emotional person, but the 1st, 2nd and even 3rd time I listened to this performance, I literally cried man. She drove that song so deep into me, it brought tears. I've literally have never heard anyone sing like she does. I've never cried to any other song EVER. I think you can truly label this performance a masterpiece.
I saw them a few years ago in Tampa, Florida. Super small venue (maybe 500 people). That night changed my whole life. Their energy is .... mesmerizing. And the band is so very nice, like everyone was super pleasant and humble.
This is my partners favourite band so I took her to see them last year and my god I had goosebumps for days man I’m not even kidding. Absolutely amazing show! I’ve always liked Nightwish but after seeing them I just loved them. Also if you liked this you should react to Nightwish - The Greatest Show on Earth (live at Tampere) trust me on that!!
I saw Nightwish at a smallish venue in MN (First Ave) and it was maybe the most powerful artistic experience of my life. I literally could not stand at the end I danced so hard.
Please react to Nightwish - Song of Myself live Waken 2013. They play it right after this song. It will give you more of a taste of their sound. Also I would look up the history of the band. And I've been to several concerts and festivals and my top three performers are AC/DC, Nightwish, and Tool.
Hi great reaction, the singer ( Floor ) is a treasure, she can sing heavy metal, with her growl, she hypes the crowd with Marco (base) he also has a great voice,I love( Amaranth) because she get`s the crowd involved, also Story-time,all from this show ,or( Poet and the Pendulum) Wembley arena
I was at their concert in Cracow, Poland last year and that was the most amazing experience I had in my entire life! The emotions were so intense that when it ended I was nearly crying, if you will ever have a chance to see them live just GO!
I've been in their conserts twice. The first one was in 2009 in Hartwall Arena, in Helsinki, Finland. We were waiting in line outside the arena for 12 hours with my friend, and it was totally worth the time and money. I still simile when i think of it. The second time was in Joensuu, Finland in june 2015. It was simply phenomenal. One of the best nights in my life.
i went to one of their concerts in Philly a few years ago when it was a different singer. did the meet and greet too and they are some of the coolest people i've ever met. and the concert was amazing. another band i love, kamelot, opened for them and it was amazing!! my husband and sister in law never heard of kamelot before the show but they were hooked after that night!!
Best thing whenever I hear ‘it’s symphonic metal I never heard of that before’. I grew up with bands like Nightwish, Epica, Within Temptation. There’s some good shit out there. I had a good childhood when it comes to music lol.
Ghost Love Score, especially this performance, is bonkers. But if you really want to be blown off your chair..... Poet and the Pendulum. It’s an emotional rollercoaster unlike anything else you’ve probably ever heard. Great reaction btw. Watching Nightwish reactions is like an Olympic sport for me. You sir get s gold 🤘🤘
Amy is pretty good. The problem is there's a hell of a lot of better female metal vocalists, but they never really became popular in the US. European metal just very rarely makes its way there. South America on the other hand is rabid for it.
Just to clarify, I have nothing against Amy, I like her just fine since the first time I heard her. The comparison has been brought up before by reactors. There is another point made that Amy can sit at the piano. Do people not know Floor is a professional vocal coach and also plays piano, guitar and flute? Does she really need to use any other instrument besides the one she was born with? Not with the quality of the band around her, I don't think so.
its a fuqin artistic masterpiece, her name is floor jansen the dutch valkyrie queen, floorgasms are an amazing feeling i'm american and just discovered nightwish 2 weeks ago i watch ghost love score 7 times a day i'm still floorgasming
The drummer is from another world.. unbelieveable good
Floor is what the Vikings had in mind when they were dying on the battelfield and a Valkyrie would arrive, singing, in her chariot, carrying them to Valhalla. And now you know why they weren't afraid of dying in battle. :)
TRUTH!
Amen my dude.
The Vikings were in the Netherlands and they took Floor to Scandinavia. Lol
Don't get dragged into it if you can avoid it :(
Tuomas is great at writing music to fit the singers. But what was written for, say, Tarja, won't be as good if Floor sings it
Just enjoy the tales they weave ... and if you listen to The Poet And The Pendulum, be warned. It's dark. Tuomas wrote it about the departure of Tarja.
I promise You won't run out Nigtwish to listen to. Been with them since 1996 😊...Still going strong...Soon coming more.(Spring 2020)
(C) Floor Jansen, Newsletter: For now I think it’s time to listen to some more new Nightwish songs in preparation of the rehearsals. They have now started and soon I will join the guys.
Nope, you won't
You will not run out! LoL
82,000 metalheads lulled into silence during a performance
@Reijo Väliranta true artist.
80000 Lulled means 80000 dicks in Floors language, dont make the valkyrie angry lmao
Nightwish is unbelievable live. I've seen them twice, both with the current lineup, and it's a totally immersive experience. The fans are pretty hardcore, so everyone's happy to be there, and it's like you're all travelling to the same fantasy world together.
Now i am envious :)
Yes! I saw them with Sabaton and they were incredible too. The concert was like being inside joy itself.
"Wow she's got some pipes, she can sing!"
Me: Oh no, he's not ready.
So right, she has no pipes, she's got wind tunnels and turbines :)
Floor is a badass Valkyrie!
It's been said before but I will plagiarize.
Lead Singer: Valkyrie
Lead Guitar: Elf
Drummer: Pirate
Bass: Viking
Keyboards: Wizard
Agree, except for Floor. I would say she's more an Amazon than Valkyrie, given her height and beauty, and Valkyries tend to be blonds. You're dead on with the others.
@@jackstorm5649 You missed the Druid on Pipes!
Welcome to the Nightwish Army!!! YOU WERE NOT READY FOR THE NOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello. Since this is your first reaction to Nightwish. I will give you a short history speech, "The Ann Waychoff" speech (a short / concentrated history of the band):
Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band.
So be prepared. lol
I would like to recommend "Storytime" (Live at Wacken 2013) ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html
Thank you.
Thank you!
God Love Ann. I hope she's been doing ok. we miss seeing her around.
Any news about Ann?
@@bramilan For what I know (message from her husband Jim on NW Discord, on june 30), she's doing better, recovering at home. Hope she will return online soon.
Thank's man. Glad to hear that She's getting better...👍
If you react to Nightwish we will watch them... here are some suggestions:
“Song of myself” live at Wacken 2013 “Everdream” live at Wacken 2013
”Romanticide” live at wacken 2013
“Sleeping sun” live at Tampere 2015
“Storytime” live at Wacken 2013
“Weak fantasy” live at Tampere 2015
“Kiss while your lips are still red” live at wembley 2015
“The poet and the pendulum” live at Wembley 2015 (you have to pause this one regularly because of copyright issues)
“Ghost River” live at Wacken 2013
“The islander” live at Tampere 2015
“Yours is a empty hope” live at Tampere 2015
“ I want my tears back” live at wacken 2013
“Seven days to the Wolves” live at Wembley 2015
“Shudder before the beautiful” live at Tampere 2015
“Amaranth” live a wacken 2013
“Last ride of the day” live at Wacken 2013
“High hopes” live end of an era
“The greatest show on earth” live at Tampere 2015
If you want to check out an song performed by their original singer Tarja watch:
“The Phantom of the Opera” live End of a Era DVD it’s pretty amazing.
There very good but in my book the best symphonic metal band is Versailles.
I agree with all of these! Really, as long as it's one of the high quality live recordings from Wacken, Tampere, or Wembley, you can't go wrong!
You are right any every single way friend!!! So true!!! Love your comment
They are simply amazing live..... But Sabaton's got a better live act. Saw Nightwish with Sabaton opening for them (had no idea who Sabaton was at the time) and they completely stole the show.
YEH Floor Jansen and 15 year old Amira Willighagen Both AMAZING, OUT OF THIS WORLD, UNIQUE ,BRILLIANT , DUTCH SUPER SOPRANO SINGERS.
Damn.......I tear up every time she starts singing this song... Never fails...
SAME.

TNT, your mission- should you accept the challenge, is to go down this amazing Rabbit hole.
I so want to see nightwish live. Do you know when they performe live next time? :)
So do I ☺. They are now doing reharsal's for New album, Floor going to boy's in matter of days/weeks, with singing parts. New album coming spring 2020 and then they are on the road again. World tour said Tuomas...✊

I have seen them live. There is no better band to see live. People cry in the audience and some seem to be in some kind of trance. If you see them live once, you become a lifetime fan. It's fantastic.
You should react to:
Nightwish - The greatest show on earth
you have to choose between
a) sold out wembley arena with a special guest
and
b) Live show from Tampere Finland where they boost the song with fireworks
The song is about origins of the universe, life, History and future. And how we should respect each other more.
I cry watching them at home! 😭
One. Simply. Word. FLOORGASM!
We Were Here....❤
Every time I call in love with them all over again. Floor has a voice of gold! The drummer is incredibly strong!

They're my favourite band. I've seen then 5 times and they never disappoint. They're amazing live
YES!!!! Exactly right!
I'm from Spokane, WA. I've seen them here twice because my daughter loves me and got me tickets for my birthday! I love this band!!! They love their fans and they show it! And we love them!
I feel it in my soul. They're epic, and l love floor, love love love!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish! Can't wait to follow your journey as you react to this amazing band :)
One of my favorites :) . Good suggestion!
Could it be that I am pretty much an open book? lol
Recommendations from me:
Romanticide (Wacken 2013)
Ghost River (Wacken 2013)
Dark Chest of Wonders (Wacken 2013)
Storytime (Wacken 2013)
And just for good measure, a nice ballad for when you feel like it: Sleeping Sun (Tampere 2015).
Muchas pero muchas muchas gracias por video reaccionar a NIGHTWISH. Floor es la voz más PERFECTA que he escuchado en toda mi vida.
Ever Dream from this set also is astounding.
Her Highness The High Priestess Her Grace The Amazonian Valkyrie The Living Morgaine LaFey The Princess Of Darkness The Queen Of The Netherworld The Goddess Floor Jansen
Bow, mortal!
Bow mortal. 😂😂
BOW MORTAL LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣👌
YOU GOT THAT RIGHT
😂😂😂😂😂yesssssssss
I read that when Floor's daughter first attended pre-school, she was asked about what her Mom did. The daughter's response - "She's a metal Goddess"
I have seen them live and they are AMAZING!!
I’ve had the privilege to see Nightwish live three times; twice with Anette, once with Floor. A Nightwish concert is an experience that you will never forget and never get enough of. Definitely a must-see if you get a chance.
I've been to their concert twice and I loved it. I started listening to them when I was 5 years old.
Greetings from Finland and welcome to Nightwish family =)
You are absolutely right, their show is one of a kind, it's like watching a play - even better.
Keep up, cheers!
This percussion instrument on drummer's set is called "bar chimes". You really don't see it that often.
Always pretty priceless to see smiles, jaw droppings and other stunned facial impressions when Floor sings those epic high notes at the end: "My fall... will be... FOR YOU!"
Well, next maybe Song of Myself or Romanticide from the same Wacken Open Air concert 2013 or Yours Is An Empty Hope from Nightwish Cruise, Baltic Princess 2015.
BAr CHIMES!!!!!!!! MY GOD this was eating me alive all day!! I couldn't figure out what it was.
@@TheAdventuresofTNT I only saw him play them once, and the mike was set so low I couldn't hear them. :-(
I saw them live in Wembley in 2015, that show got released on DVD, it’s called Vehicle of Spirit and it was a phenomenal show, they have been my favourite band for 15 years. So to see them live was a dream come true, I’m seeing them again next year and it’s going to be amazing!
We would definitely fly to Europe to see this band live!
The Adventures of TNT I’m seeing them in Cardiff in the Uk, but I’m pretty sure they are doing a world tour next year, so check online for tickets near you :) They’re new album will be out next year so yeah :)
I like these reaction videos because i remember my first time hearing bands and songs. I been listening to nightwish sinve their first album 🤘
Welcome to the fan club! You will be hooked! xD
I HAVE seen Nightwish live, and they are AMAZING! :)
That Emotion, what You had while hearing Floor singing, is called a Floorgasm ❤
yessss ... #floorgasm
That whole concert from Wacken in 2013 is available on UA-cam, Its is so worth watching and shows the amazing variety in songs that Nightwish have.
Saw them live, was not disappointed!!!!
I was there...I was blown away...like all the other people there. Floor is just awesome...her voice is armor piercing.
Welcome to the Nightwish family, may your journey be floorgasmic!
Nightwish was one of my first metal concert ever, back in 2006 or 07! It was brilliant, magical!
😂🤣
"This chick has some pipes, she can SING!"
Laughed my ass off, saying "Brother, you no idea!"
😂
Welcome to Nightwish!!! I'm looking forward to your journey. Others have said the same, but it's worth repeating!
Nightwish creates an atmosphere by telling stories and taking you on a magic carpet ride with their songs 😊
That was exactly the feeling I had. I just couldnt explain it.
They take your emotions on a roller coaster ride for the entire show. They leave you better than you were before, every time.
Love the reaction. One thing people seem to forget about. They have been playing for over a hour before this song came up. An still have that much energy an pipes.
I love to see this. People who enjoy Nightwish. I have been to a few of there concerts here in the Netherlands and for me
it is the best band there is.They are now working on a new record and i can't wait to hear it.
I enjoyed your comment and your happy face when you listened to the music. Thanks for your vid.
Nightwish - Greatest Show on earth.
Awesome song.
Watching Nightwish live was absolutely phenomenal! I you have the change, you should definitely go!
More Nightwish please!
I went to see them in Amsterdam in 2018 on their "Decades" tour, it was indoors but still Pyro and two hours of fun 😎👍 Not any one song defines this band, all songs have a different vibe 🐱👤
100%. Seeing them live last year was a treat, one I will do again and again.
You have just witnessed what we call a Floorgasm in that incredible high note that Floor hits.
She has a far better vocal range than Amy Lee. Floor is classically trained and is a vocal coach. Glad you enjoyed it !
I've seen Nightwish live.. and yeah, it's an experience! Go and see them if U get the opportunity!
I saw Nightwish in Silver Spring, MD 2 years ago. It was an insane concert and I can't wait for the pandemic to be over and attend concerts again.
I was introduced at this kind of music almost 15 years ago, now I have 32. I always liked metallica, linking and other stuff like r&b, pop... But since I discovered Nightwish and Epica (plus Within Temptation and and Xandria) I can't stop listeting to this kind of music
Sounds like we have similar taste. And yes, I think I'm becoming obsessed with this song already listened to it more times then I like to admit.
@@TheAdventuresofTNT True... Poet and The pendulum gives me chills too.. Live at Wembley I think
you are the first that reacts naturally….and i love yr reaction….thnks f that
Floogasm engaged. I was at the Wembley performance a few years ago, it's the best experience I've ever had seeing any band, and possibly the best night I've ever had.
The music is called symphonic metal and i very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded 1996
. So far the band has had 3 vocalists
1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005)
2 Anette Olzom (Schwedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012)
3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current)
. * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she capable of.
Band members
Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics)
Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals)
Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen (The drummer)
Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player)
Troy Donockley ( a person who did not play on this song but is a multi instrumentalist from the UK)
The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. The documentary is called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" (ua-cam.com/video/vhExkmWKMEU/v-deo.html )
As a next song to take a look at i would recommend their masterpiece "The poet and the pendulum" live at Wembley. Before you take a look at it i would recommend to take a look at the backstory of this song. This will make you appreciate it much more. here is the link ua-cam.com/video/gbn9GczYBkw/v-deo.html
BTW that last note she just sang? Nightwish fans created a whole new word for when she does something impressive like that. We call it a Floorgasm. Welcome to the club and boy are you going to receive a lot of traffic on your channel. ;-)
It was an absolute pleasure watching you react to this. Thank you and subbed!
Next watch the songs (ever dream) or (story time) from the same wacken 2013 concert truly epic great reaction welcome to the fan club
Friendly warning if you ever do Poet and the Pendulum, it seems *very* likely to get a copyright strike nowadays.
This one is just the top of the iceberg call Nightwish. Take a seat and enjoy this amazing musical journey!
I saw Nightwish at a smallish venue in MN (First Ave) and it was maybe the most powerful artistic experience of my life. I literally could not stand at the end I danced so hard.
The most decent and on the spot reaction. Well done !
They are allways briliant in Live !
Just awesome
Fantastic band and with our Queen Floor, spectacular
Great reaction to an amazing performance! I also liked your comments in the end.
She is a vocal dragon. Comparing her to Amy, no, Amy isn't in her class
Amy is good. Floor is better. And I say this as a big Amy Lee fan.
Amy couldn't hold a candle to F.
She is way better than Amy... Amy has a distinct voice that works well for sad songs but Floor can basically do ANYTHING - even growls.
