Nightwish REACTION Everdream - They Effortlessly Blow Us Away Again!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 сер 2019
- Without fail, Nightwish blows us away. We have yet to react to a song without that happening! Ok, in this reaction, Brian asks a weird question. Was it weird? How weird? Don't answer that.

First
Tuomas the Sorcerer - Keyboards
Marco the Viking - Bass
Floor the Valkyrie Goddess- Vocals
Jukka the Pirate - Drums
Emppu the Hobbit - Guitar
Troy the Druid - Pipes/Whistles
React to Nightwish "The Islander" live in Tampere if you want a mellow, low-key, celtic, acoustic song. It's beautiful and Marco does the leads.
I think of Troy as a Druid.
Perfekt.
Although we need something for Kai now too!!
Nerdy: There are no Vikings or Valkeyries in Middle Earth, Try AGAIN !!
Kai the Winter-Soldier...
A Viking, a wizard, a hobbit, a pirate and a Valkyrie... What else do u need to create the best band?
Nerdy: There are no Vikings or Valkeyries in Middle Earth, Try AGAIN !!!
@@corneliusantonius3108 you never know because middle earth is only a part of the world, according to the maps.
@@corneliusantonius3108 Middle earth and Midgard are the same ;)
you're missing Troy the druid.
@@corneliusantonius3108 switch the hobbit to a goblin so.
If Floor was classified in a classical category (Fach) she is most likely a Dramatic Soprano. The loudest voice classification...meaning they can sing over an entire orchestra. Yes, she is special.
She was just 10 months in nightwish, 80.000 ppl watching and 15 million ppl wish that they were there...
Nightwish sleeping sun live at tampere 2015 is a beautiful ballad 💖👍
Sue Ben - Yep. You boys want to here a more quiet side of Nightwish, then Sleeping Sun is the one. So beautiful. Floor is phenomenal.
Absolutely! Her vocals in Sleeping Sun calm me down when I'm having a bad day. Amazing
Yeeees, definitely Sleeping Sun!
Okay, here goes nerdiness!
Tuomas: Dúnadan bard/ranger/scholar (tall and dark and grey-eyed so that's a given)
Marco: Rohirric warrior skald (duh)
Floor: Rohirric shieldmaiden
Emppu and Troy: Hobbit rogue and bard, respectively (Troy perhaps with some stray Dunlending blood)
Jukka: Corsair of Umbar (but, you know, a non-villainous one)
Tarja: Elf (though very unusually short :p)
Anette: Human commoner, perhaps from Bree
Kai: Dúnadan warrior/ranger, probably one of the Northern ones.
I knew somebody could do it!
Hugh Nightwish fan please do "kiss while your lips are red." Great way to see Marco sing with floor as back up
Emmpu (Guitar) is dwarfed by Floor Jansen. He tosses picks throughout each show-He's a goof ball. We met the band last year in Portland Oregon and got autographs/ free CDs etc..( I got one of Emmpu's picks). We appreciate your promotion of this most excellent band! We do not get music like this in the USA. We also appreciate the quality channel that you have... If you ever get a chance to see them live..,, jump on it! This band does not cut corners. There is ongoing titles for each band member- Some change but Floor is nearly universally considered- Valkyrie, Marco( bass) is considered a Viking, Jukka(drums)- pirate- Emmpu(guitar)- elf, hobbit, dwarf, Tuomas( keys)- Wizzard/ sorcerer ….Thanks again for a quality product!
Great reaction, guys! Floor can definitely cut through any band volume!
Thank you for the reaction! Brian mentioned once that he's a fan of old Prog rock bands like (Yes, rush, Pink floyd etc.). Nightwish did a cover of Pink Floyd's High hopes (Marco did the vocals) and that was one of the best Pink Floyd cover that I've heard (in my opinion). The guitarist has more time to show his chops in that song too.
You should check it out: ua-cam.com/video/4oEDnVeYYyM/v-deo.html
Exactly. I was going to recommend that for the longer guitar solo.
Incredible cover, wow. Love it.
If you guys want to hear slower song from Nightwish with Floor then you must to check Sleeping sun live in Tampere 2015 👌
I’ve seen Nightwish live 9 times and the band have never been happier and had more fun on stage than with this lineup.
I can recommend Creek Mary’s blood live End of an era Helsinki with their first singer Taja Turunen.
Acoustic song:The islander live Tampere.
I can also recommend the keyboard player Tuomas Holopainen solo song “A lifetime of adventure “ that song will stay in your heads for weeks👍😊
Superthanx for another great reaction video.
Stay safe n well😊👍👍👍
If you listen to NW and dont feel something.. dont smile. cry.. cosebumbs.. then you didnt listen..
Nightwish is emotion.. if you listen you will go on a journey..
Like no other they bring out so much.. just smile.. listening to them makes one feel like .. something only nightwish can give.. there is no words..
I just love Nightwish. I dont see how you cant.. listening to them is always.. always... everything..
Nightwish - KISS While your lips are still Red is a nice slow song with Marco as the lead and Floor singing backup.
Great reaction fellas!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Acoustic: The Islander live at Tampere or a song called Edema Ruh live on the Nightwish Cruise.
This is a must!
This one's for Stan: Do Sleeping Sun live at Tampere.
Here be a link! ua-cam.com/video/rsotlzr9wNw/v-deo.html
@@pmasher Why thank you we will check it out
Also the song The Islander at the same concert.
@@comedianstanshelby857 Just saying, I danced to that song on my wedding. \m/
plz react to Nightwish - 7 Days To The Wolves (Live at Wembley Arena) u wil love it
"First ones to walk this path of night
lady in black, lady in white
followed by legions of night-time wanderers."
For some reason, the question about Nightwish Army made me think of this line. I believe it to be the first reference to it.
Oh, and there's plenty of fantasy characters in that song to go around to fulfill your Middle-Earth fantasies.
If you want to do hear a softer song that features Floors beautiful voice...Sleeping Sun (live from Tampere) will do the trick. It's a great song.
Emppu (the guitarist) always plays in service of the composition, just like all the other members. Yes, there are songs where he does longer solos, but there are also a lot of songs where he doesn't do a solo at all.
I heard this song when i was 13 im 27 now. its the best song ever written.
Do you ever miss any long guitar solos? Nope, he can shred when required, but mostly it is understated and just fits.
The other band members have stated they enjoy not having to modulate their playing to be "under" the vocals, she can meet whatever is needed and then some.
I prefer the term vocal dragon.
Great reaction, once again!
Not sure if you already checked Nightwish's version on a Pink Floyd song High Hopes. Marco takes it to another level.
Another jewel by Marco; Islander (Live at Tampere).
Remember that this is the first time most of those people ever heard Floor. She was very new to the band. And they all fell in love with her that night.
You can see Floor sing straight Opera by a composer named Puccini. Just type that into UA-cam search. It's her pre nightwish and acoustic
After Forever - Monolith of Doubt. Floors first band started when she was 16
Floor is always always like "oh you think that was good? you ain't seen shit yet" every time you think you've seen her peak she soars past that.
Symphonic metal doesn`t focus on heavy, complicated gitar solos as much as other genres of metal, Its more about the female vocals and the orchestrations. Tuomas pretty much ”invented” this genre, as there weren`t metal bands with operatic vocalists before Nightwish.
Really? How about Kamelot? Male-fronted symphonic metal band from Florida that's been around for eons.
jopotin67 they stumbled upon the style by accident. The band was supposed to be acoustic mood music vibe kind of thing but Tarja has a classically trained dramatic soprano voice that drowned out the instruments. They only found that out during the recording of the first 3 demos. So Tuomas decided to scale up the music to match the vocals.
What about Therion and Haggard? Maybe they're not as popular as Nightwish, but they were the first ones :)
You should also react to Nightwish with its first singer Tarja Turunen, she is also amazing. I recommend the song Phantom of the opera (end of an era concert)
Yes, yes, yes!
PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Planet Hell
"She is my sin" ua-cam.com/video/GrEom80ccqw/v-deo.html
ive only been a nightwish fan for a few year.s but i have not heard a single bad song from them. all their songs are epic. and give me huge FLOORGASMS. LOL
"The beauty and the beast" with Tarja. "The phantom of the opera" and "wishmaster" too. I can tell you, if you are stuned with Floor, you will be astonisinhed with Tarja
Try Phantom of the Opera where you can see two brilliant vocalists. Marco and Tarja (pronounced Tarya)
Not many people reacting to Nightwish realise that with Floor the band seems to be a happy band, they all look happy especially Tuomas which is exactly what you want in a band
Nightwish's cover for a Heart song called "Alone" showcases Floors vocal range in a pretty mellow way. You could give that one a listen and for a celtic flavor try My Walden. Entertaining reaction men, carry on. OK found a Floor exclusive called Floor Jansen - Vilja lied | Beste Zangers. It's opera and it's stunning.
YES!!!! So gooood!!!!!
Floor had many reasons to be extra joyful while singing Ever Dream at Wacken in 2013. She was new in the bend, song was eleven years old, one her favorites and one of Nightwish's biggest hits.
Believe me none of the other singers have the power of FLOOR period 👩🏻🎤😁👍
FYI Floor is now in a Dutch tv show called "Beste Zangers" (Best vocalists). The program consists of 7 vocalists in total. Every week one person is the guest of honor and the other vocalist will sing a cover or a song that the person has a special connection with. This week the guest was Henk Poort a very famous Dutch musical and opera singer. Floor of-course put on her opera voice with a little bit of symphonic metal twist. :-) here is the clip. @
Nightwish. The world’s best kept secret. The world’s best band. The world’s nicest bunch of guys & gal.
I suggest "She is my sin" from Waken 2013.
Every time I watch this video I keep expecting her voice to crack or the range to become painful to listen to, but her control and pitch continue to amaze me and never lets me down.
You’ve said it looks like they are having fun; amazing when you consider that this is after 100+ shows in their 1.5 year world tour (Imaginaerum, april 2012 until the end of 2013), and they also had to switch singer. It must be joy and dedication, I think.
Jukka the drummer (The Pirate), Tuomas the keyboardist (the Magician or RingMaster), Marco the bassist (The Viking), Emppu the guitarist (The Hobbit), and of course Floor the Valkyrie Queen! That last chorus is BREATHTAKING!
Check this out. Not acoustic, but some great heavy opera by Floor doing a Finnish traditional Christmas song "Oi Jouluyö". Translates as O Christmas Night. ua-cam.com/video/xXPjLLfCJKs/v-deo.html
The sexy Floor. Like a nightclub singer "Slow Love Slow" ua-cam.com/video/1TjEfOjGdcE/v-deo.html
Yes, please react to Slow Love Slow Orlando 2012 with Floor!
Was waiting for this one u lovelies and can’t describe how thankful I am.
Nice to see u doing Nightwish!!
Ya thanks guys missed u😭!
and sleeping sun (tampere 2015) is the song u are maybe looking for!
Floor rules. The ultimate Nordic Viking angel goddess soprano.
Yeah you guys really are awesome!
PS. If you don't remember the band members, you can always go back to your 1st reaction to Nighwish - Ghost Love Score. Search Ann Waychoff: She's a revered elderly lady in her pensioneer years, who nicely provides the basic info for any new Nightwish reactors whose reaction she finds. Ann shared it for you guys too - just saw it.
I see her as being chosen by the fans to be the respected honorary spokes person of the Nightwish fan club. Whichever is the official name of the pack, flock, pride, gang, fellowship, posse, ship, well, army, firm, union...
I don't always want to watch 1st people react to that GLS, because it's normally the 1st song people react to - i's sometimes a bit boring :) It's not about the song, but even a good song wears out if listened to all day every day. First day I can understand if somebody is hooked for hours. But the next day at least people better remember to eat and sleep occasionally.
Admittedly it's a good way to come in to the Nightwish world: many concider it among the best 3 of their songs 'the 3 epics'. The other 2 are longer (Poet & the Pendulum + The Greatest Show on Earth).
Everytime I heard that song I always hold my breath when she sing with those high notes.. I suggest "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere for your next Nightwish reaction.
This modulation at the end is crazy. She pushes her voice up so effortlessly.
This song was used in the film AVATAR if you look up Jankler tv you will see all the film's that have used their songs. Smurfs used the song ELAN. SO you were closer than you thought with middle earth.
Love you guys's reactions. Your friendship is great....two of the most likeable characters in reaction-world! OK, I'm a nerd so I'll answer the character question. It's been around for a long time thanks to, originally, a webzine reviewer who coined the characters. They've varied a little bit over time, but most fans seem to have settled on the following setlist:
Only Empuu is a Middle Earth character. Most people refer to him as "The Hobbitt" or some say "The Elf" instead.
Marco is definitely "The Viking." There's pretty much universal agreement on that one.
Tuomas is "Captain Jack Sparrow" or "The Pirate Captain." Some prefer "The Ringmaster."
This drummer, Jukka, is universally called "The Pirate Bandit."
Jukka is permanently retired due to a medical condition, and his replacement, Kai (pronounced kye), has belatedly been called "The Pirate Oarsman" although I don't think he actually has a solid character name yet that is widely accepted.
New member Troy is referred to as "The Minstrel."
And now to the singers! The first singer, Tarja, is called either, "The Angel" or "The Siren."
The second singer, Annette, is often called "The Wicked Witch," not as an insult but (I think) related to the character she played in a few videos from the Imaginarium album and in the associated movie as well.
And Floor, of course, is our beloved "Amazon Warrior Goddess!"
Nice! And thank you :-)
Damn, you two are fun to watch XD
If you want acoustic, softer stuff, I'd suggest my favorites, Sleeping Sun (Floor) and The Islander (Marko), both at Tampere. Top notch stuff, really.
Okay that was great reaction as always and good analyzing also ;)
U are so funny to watch.. brings smile to my face every time!
Can’t wait the next and thanks for coming back to Nightwish.
You 2 are hilarious 😂😂. If want to do more of Epica. Try the song"Feint" . A beautiful ballad about the assassination of a Dutch politcian and the aftereffects on society.
Stan awesome shirt my man!!! Yes even people from Kentucky love Nightwish.
Yes. Acoustic is The Islander sung my Marco live at Tampere
marco says in an interview :with tarja and anette he was always affraid of overpowering the voice of the lead singer but with floor he says he dont have any problem, its impossible overpower floor's voice .
Nightwish are always so happy onstage and Floor is a huge part of that,. With their previous singers there was a lot of drama. With Floor she is note-perfect every night and doesn't have any sort of diva ego.
The islander at Tampere ^_^ please and thank you!! This was my favorite video by you guys so far btw
Sometimes they call Emppuu "The Hobbit Guy". ;) And Tuomas is " Jack Sparrow" and Marko is sometimes called "The Viking", but to do your middle earth reverences he's maybe an Rohirim (don't know how it is called in englisch ... I'm from Germany). ;)
How I view the band in Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) terms:
Tuomas: Human bard: Because his music enthralls people
Marko: Human fighter: His axe slays the doubters
Emppu: Dwarf rogue: Because he's a charismatic, goofy guy
Troy: Dwarf druid: His pipes evoke the Celtic forest
Jukka: Human Rogue: Because rogues are pirates
Floor: Half-Celestial, Half-Elven Siren: Because her voice just pulls you in, and she has a divine presence -- you're just awed by being near her.
Why do I say this? Because I am that much of a nerd, lol.
Nerd, now do it like Skyrim
Nice, Isaiah! I like the explanations!
@@corneliusantonius3108 : Sorry, never played Skyrim. But I've played the crap out of D&D 3.0 and 3.5.
@@isaiahwelch8066 It's oke I was jusrt nerding out myself 😜👍
@@corneliusantonius3108 Truthfully, I love RPing. Just like music, it's simply another way to relax and get away from the stresses and stressors of life.
4:18 of course Floor loves her "job", she lives for this, performing the music she loves.. This is a perfect example of insane talent meeting passion, the result is amazing.. She could probably have been an amazing opera singer, but she followed her heart..
Marco is a Dwarf, one of the Durins
Tuomas is a wizard, probably one of the missing blue wizards (we found one!)
Floor is one of the Valar, who came with the wizards to Middle-earth to ignite the hearts of the Free Peoples.
Jukka is one of the Corsairs of Umbar
Emppu is the chief Hobbit, the Thain of the Shire
Troy is one of the elvish musicians, who charms anyone within earshot
New Jinjer, Judgment and Punishment. Gooooooo!!!!!!!
You guys are so much fun 😂 and it is so nice that someone notices how great Emppu(the guitarist) is. Just talent as a part of the band and dedication to make the story of the song great. They now have such a good chemistry together.
Cool! You reacted to ever dream! I love this song! I asked many times.
U should try SABATON but keep going with NIGHTWISH :) Floor is ours queen!
and her husband is drummer for Sabaton.....Lucky Rascal, married to a Goddess
I think that's exactly Floor: humble, but she knows that she is an extremely talented and skilful badass. And not just her but the entire band is so comfortable with their fantastic musicianship. Great reaction again!
Oh and you're so right!!
Tuomas: keyboard wizard
Emppu: guitar hobbit
Marko: bass druid
Troy: flutist minstrel
Kai: drums ogre (sorry Kai!!)
Floor: vocal goddess/valkyrie.
You're really picking up on the Nightwish community!
Another edit: Floor did a song recently in a tv show De Beste Zangers called "Vilja song". I'd be very interested in that reaction.
The Islander from Tampere 2015...Another side of Nightwish. :-D
For "the other chick", Tarja, her Ever Dream from End of an Era DVD is my personal favourite of all renditions of the song. It highlights the difference of vocals with Floor really well and it was the last gig with her in the band as well.
I saw them for the first time in about 2000 with Tarja and it was great and all,but she imo didn't have the crowd in the palm of her hand. Seen them 5 times with Floor and the way she commands the stage and crowd with little gestures is just something else. All you can do is watch and listen how good they are playing together as a group. From videos you can get maybe 40 % of the atmosphere they create.
THANK YOU!!!
Thanks you guys are great and I love you!
Floor Jansen not only has an amazing voice, she is also a vocal coach. So yeah, she always sounds amazing because she's always in control and knows when and how to breath and sound perfect. She makes it look easy but what she does on stage is extremely difficult. I'm not an expert, but watch any "vocal coach reacts to nightwish" video if you want more technical details about what she does with her voice.
Nightwish - The Poet And The Pendulum (Live At Wembley 2016). You still have not heard Floors true soft voice. It will melt your heart. But it is really important thing to read what is that song all about before listening.
Since floor came they found themselves and so enjoy themselves loved Tarja as singer but love them now they are so happy and it shows in the music :--)
I have NEVER thought that.
BUT.
Floor Jansen - Rohirrim.
Marco Hietala - Dwarf
Emppu Vuorinen - Gondorian
Jukka Nevalainen - I guess Hobbit?
Tuomas Holopainen - High Elf
Hello hello hello hello. First let me start and say you guys are great. With that being said, I have a birthday coming up September 1st and I will be 55. Song I would like to hear could be sleeping sun or the band epica or the song would be unleashed. Two awesome songs either or will do. Anyways keep on keep an keepin on
Great reaction, would you play their Pink Floyd cover High Hopes sung by Marco
Check out Sleeping Sun Live Tampere 2015
You guys always make me smile when watching Nightwish : ) . Please check out their first singer Tarja with" Phantom of the opera"
I now strongly feel Stan would love My Walden, after a mention of enjoying the Celtic sounds in some songs and having already recognized Troy's immense instrumental contributions. He is often missed as a tertiary vocalist and that song gives him a spotlight.
Sabaton..floors hubby drums....also floor in Northward
*Floor's... punctuation and capitalisation go a long way.
Tuomas (composer/keys) - Black magician
Marco(bass) - viking
Emppu (guitar) - halfling
Troy (multi instrumentalist) - hobbit
Jukka(old drummer) - pirate
Kai (new drummer) - giant
Floor (vocals duh)- Valkerie / goddess
Exclusive Classical Opera is very beautiful Marco Hietala & Floor Jansen - Ave Maria
Nice reaction ! I like this song.
Yes, think about this, Wacken concert was about 1½h, and they continue like this whole show. That energy, those songs (no bad songs at all)...
Lord of The Rings. BWT, for Tuomas it is his favorite book. He said in one interview that he reads it every second year. And, when reading, he hears that story as a music in his head... So, definitely he is in that book!
Oh yes, as you said, she enjoys (they enjoy actually...) being on stage and doing her wonderful stuff. You can just have a peek at this little video (not react, just watch for yourselves), where she explains 3,5 years after she joined the band, how deeply she loves and thanks these guys. (Especially knowing how it happenend at that time...)

Awesome. Always fun watching Nightwish. Great video...
How about reacting to 'Glory Hole' by Steel Panther?
(... no peaking early ;)
and you guys also mentioned sabaton...short summary of what awaits you...swedish powermetal meets ww1 and ww2 history lessons packaged in some hollywood movie type music videos...fields of verdun and bismark are the go to titles...and speaking of wars...and not fully up to date on all your reactions yet, but did anyone ever tell you guys that if i´d have to guess how you two met then my first thought would be brian and stan are army bros maybe vetrans!?!
Empuu or dwarf(as in middle earth), however , I'm not a nerd like Brian :-) jk! Keep the great reactions coming! Btw, there are quality versions of all 3 singers doing Planet Hell. Just a suggestion.
hey brian nothing nerdy about having a vivid imagination, its a sign of creativity...and honestly they just ooze out that fantasy midieval times mojo...just shows they are doing their job right if the music sparks your fantasy...but since you ask and without giving it to much thought... floor would be a nordic warrior woman... marco the magician... troy the bard or a druid... tuomas king of the dark elves... emppu the dwarf... jukka a swashbuckler...and kai(jukkas replacement since 2014 & also drummer for wintersun) a ork...but no lies, if they gave a concert at a LARP meeting or fantasy fest somewhere in my neck of the woods i´d be the first to geek out and buy a plastic sword and one of those pink air guitars in the next best toy store and get a larping and a rockin son! lol! peace, love and happieness everyone!
Ok , check out Elven path, one of the earlier nightwish songs with Tarja, it is about Lord of the Rings, and finally, I am looking forward to Sabaton, they have a US tour this fall, Tarja was more classically trained and the voice is "darker" Annette was "more Pop music and a "bright" Floor, right in the middle, Marco, the bassist sings the Inlander, and they cover pink Floyds "high hopes"
U guys are awesome 😎
Floor's old band's revamp with wild card, and After forever with Dreamflight, is an absolute experience🥰🥰
Nightwish acoustic with Heart's song alone, is a good one😎😃
Fantastic job on all the reactions gents. If you haven’t checked out Dream Theater I highly recommend watching “Pull Me Under”to start with. Semper Fi...!
They made acoustic versions of "How's the heart" from their latest album en "Nemo" a song from an album with Tarja as a vocalist.
Well, the drummer of Sabaton, Hannes van Dahl is the fiancé of Floor Jansen. And the father of their lovely baby girl. :)
Great reaction guys! 🤘🤘
If you want some Nightwish with Tarja, try Phantom of the Opera, freaking epic!
Emppu is the sole guitarist in a Metalnband, most have 2 or sometimes even 3, Acoustic, On board the Baltic Princess, Phone recordings of the mattinee 👀👍
I think you should try now Everdream from End of an Era concert, if you want to see if Tarja's voice is as "loud" as Floor's, although we don't want to compare them, we love them both. Or Phantom of the Opera, Planet Hell, The Siren, High Hopes.... Etc :)
Lmao!!! Got to love Empu the happy hobbit from the shire!!!! This song all 3 singers have sung it. It is worth listening to all 3 of them. Imo they are all great but Floor kills it... listen to phantom of the opera.
When and if checking vocalists before Floor, and what comes to Tarja, my strongly recommend is "I wish I have an angel" (Live end of era). That song was gate to to music of Nightwish (Also Marko sings on that).
