QUAKERS WALK PARKRUN Event #48 - "Q" Done and Dusted!
QUAKERS WALK PARKRUN! A great parkrun located to the South West of England along Quakers Walk in Devizes! This almost flat parkrun utilises hardstanding paths with a mixture of tarmac and trail and is a pretty parkrun! Join me as I provide an in-depth review of the Quakers Walk Parkrun experience.
The parkrun course consists of just under three laps, starting partway up Quakers Walk and following an anti-clockwise, ‘P’-shaped route. The finish is located just before the large iron gates at the lower entrance. The course is primarily run on a hard trail path with a short stretch on tarmac. After rain, small puddles, mud, and leaves may accumulate at the top sections, so trail shoes are recommended during winter, though the surface remains firm. The route passes near local residents' houses, requiring caution on the tarmac section, and is shared with dog walkers and families, so runners should be mindful of others.
Dogs are allowed at Quakers Walk parkrun. However, if you're participating with a buggy please contact the team in advance for further information. There are toilets near to the start at the Kennet and Avon Trust Cafe. As the route is on hardstanding paths, road shoes are fine. However, for those who have trail shoes I would recommend them. In terms of how busy the parkrun is, it has an average number of participants of around 222. This is a little bit of an issue on the course as there are narrow sections at the start, however, as the run goes on and everyone spreads out, there is plenty of room to maneuver. With it being an almost flat parkrun, it msy have the potential for a PB!
The weather was a bit grey and rainy, however, this didn't stop us! The atmosphere was great and there were some great volunteers to keep you going! This is the 40th parkrun I have recorded of which you can find a playlist of them on my channel!
