Hey man, good stuff! As a professional detailer, with 10 years experience I agree with everything you said. Only thing you skipped out on, which is one of the most important parts for longevity. Is wiping the vehicle down with a IPA wipe or another ceramic coat prep such as Gyeon Prep, after your polishing/paint correction step. It’s very important to remove the oils from the compound before applying.
And yes! The price comes from the prep, paint correction isn’t cheap! Especially if you have a dark colored vehicle, if you own a black truck, expect to pay much more.
Love your vids, wish you still had a 3rd Gen, I have a 2006 mega slab myself.

Ceramic coating w/ CQ UK 3.0 by Everythang Diesel:
~8hr job: (1) wash with Adams soap, (2) clay bar with clay lubricant, (2.1) Adams Iron Remover; specially if white truck, (2.2) blow dry everything (3) “3D” polish with micro fiber euro one pad. (4) apply clear coat “TWO coats”, let it cure & buff it off. Can last 2-3 years. (5) Top coat Bliss “increases longevity”. Adds another year or two.

Do it man!!! Best investment for your paint, the long part is polishing the paint. But take your time cause once you put the coating on the paint it's gonna look amazing!! Washing your truck will be the easiest thing to do after.
