Before I saw the finished product. I thought you were out of your mind. I thought the truck looked great black but when I saw the outcome. I was blown away. It looks freaking killer. Great job!
Did this to my truck and it looks too plain so I dipped some parts black so it’s not so plain. I dipped my roof, back bumper, and same area as this truck in the front. Doesn’t look so plain anymore. Now I’m starting to miss gloss but love the color so I’m prob going to auto flex the black areas.
Very NICE!!! Can you provide a list of the actual products you purchased for this project? You were the first ones I noticed that has used red in the dip mix!
Nevermind the truck, thats a nice piece of land you stay on! i guess i can watch it again and pay more attention to the dip process this time instead of the landscape..lol
Will that plastidip start peeling over time? After washing with pressure washer? That's my only fear of doing this sort of paint job! Looks freaking amazing though man, you done a great job!
truck looks great. I been thinking of doing some of my car in plasti dip. I got a granite metalic 200 and I was thinking of blacking out the emblems all the trim and then doing the tires in a matte black with a metal flake finish.
Sick truck man. I dipped my Silverado matte black, i literally get people coming up to in parking lots complimenting me. I bet you get it all the time too. How smooth did your dip turn out? Mine was a little rough to the touch, but not bad at all, but certainly not super smooth either.
hey thanks a lot. the dip always turns out good. the secret is the dip coat. spray some of that in, it diminishes the rough texture and provides protection. he pulled it off not long after the video, but it I dipped a 280z and it's still on. perfect.
Joshua Hamby oh nice. yea, i've had my matte black on for like 18 months now, i take my truck off roading so there are some chips in the plasti dip, but not really noticeable. plus I think I can take acetone and blend the dip, then respray the area, like new
looks great im adding to my plastidip cart right now.. my question is how did you do it ? base coat all gray? then second coat gray and gunmetal mix? then third coat gray and clear? im looking to paint a tahoe so so far i have 5 gallons of gray then 2 gallons of gunmetal and 2 gallons of clear... does that sound correct? looking to buy within the next 24 hours.. any advise would be greatly appreciated.. is this something i should buy the gun and test DIY with no car painting experience? or should i buy the mats and try to get someone to spray my truck for 500-1000? do they need a special spray nozzle or equipment? should i go ahead and buy the gun incase they dont have one for this material? once again thanks in advance.
+nick997763 Alright, so first, you don't really need 9 gallons. Just around 5 total color gallons for a Tahoe. The gray is a bit lighter than gunmetal, so if you want it darker or lighter, use one more either gray or one more gunmetal to adjust. You can add a clear if you'd like to give it a little shine, but really what you want for protection is the Dip Coat. That stuff is magic. It gives it a smoother finish (less rubbery) and protects it from marring. It's like $30, but it'll last a while if you use it like they say. I'd go ahead and invest in the gun, as it's already ready to spray the rubber dip spray. Other sprays in the store are meant for regular paint. Honestly if you just watch a few videos of how everything is applied, it'll come out good. Good luck on the project.
can't really see the red flakes in the video here its to bad. otherwise the actual color is a mix between anthracite grey and gun metal grey mixed togather? or where the last final coats just the anthracite grey?
That is the best looking dip truck I have seen on UA-cam most have streaks and spots that are darker ,great job I was going to do my truck but most videos I have seen look like shit you just changed my mind
Hey, just watched your video and finished product came out great! I really hope you're still following this vid and I get a response because I just ordered a plastidip kit and didn't think about it until after.. I figured I'd have to remove the bed from my truck to get full coverage and I noticed you left yours on. Now that it's been a couple years, any regrets or would you still recommend spraying it with the bed on?
Damn I know I’m super late hopefully you see my comment did you not tape the head and tail lights??? I didn’t see any masking on them did u just peel of the dip????
Ok, i read about a third of the comments, sorry if tgis was addressed but i didn't see it. The red, was it visible in person... i couldn't see any sign of it in the video. If it was noticible in person, how would you describe the effect it had? Bout to pull the trigger and dip my 2010 chevy colorado.... very small truck, should be easy.
Yea the camera could hardly pick it up. What it did, was like a rust color when the sun hit it. Very interesting. When you got close to it, you could see the flakes.
Looks cool. Personally I would keep the emblems and rims black, and tint the tail lights black. (if that's legal in your state) My biggest concern about Plasti Dip is how it ages. I know you can peel it off somewhat easily at first, but what is this stuff like after it has baked in the sun for 6 or 7 years?
+Bastian Yea, can't tint lights in this state. But, as far as aging, fading would be the first problem after around 5 or 6 years I hear. As far as curing and aging, it adheres to the original body the longer its been on, but peeling will be easier once its started. Remember, the thicker the coats, the thicker the peel off sheet will be.
awesome job great finish looks sick!! did you guys mix the clear gloss and the anthrecite along with the blaze on that last coat?? all three together??
+Joshua Hamby cool you guys used 4 gallons total?? 2 gunmetal 1 anthrecite and the clear gloss?? last question haha sorry but thanx alot man this video is super helpful
You guys used one gallon of gun metal grey, 1 gallon of anthracite grey, then 1 gallon of anthracite grey and 1 gallon of glossifier + red tint right? the reason we ask is to duplicate the look on a project we are working on.
Kids Club Channel did you ever finish the project? I’m doing the same to my truck but I didn’t order the clear or red powder. How did it turn out? Can you see the red flakes? Is it glossy?
they're noticeable in the sun. it actually gave it a rustlike color in the sun that was pretty cool. I'd say if using a brighter color, pearls are more effective
Hey I’m gonna do my Dodge Ram also , do you think I have to mask off the bumpers and grill if I want them dipped the same color as what the rest of the truck is gonna be dipped in?
hey guys you guys did an awsome job on this dip.. Im doing my 4quad Dodge 1500 Ram. How much will i need you think for that truke. Im doing everything-rims and all.
I was thinking about doing my 2014 Ram, but I had one area on concern. That area was where the cab meet the bed. Did you spray in between that area? If not could you see the color difference if you just walked by it. I have a bright red truck and wanted to paint it camo green so it would be a big color difference and I didn't want the red to stand out in that area.
Looks fucking awesome on a badass Ram. I just bought an '06 quad SRT-10 and I was thinking about dipping it. This is the EXACT color I want......2 questions..... You said he peeled it off. Why? Was it ruined or....? Did peeling it off jack up the paint at all? Thanks!
+Joshua Hamby that's the plan. I've looked into the dip your car company over the past couple of weeks. Good experience? How's the gun compared to say a standard Wagner electric
That looks amazing I like the color I'll probably plastic dip my 97 Accord this same color after I get a fresh new paint job so my car doesn't get scratches all over
+TANAZEFTI Akram it was maybe 5 coats. when it cures, it sticks really good until you want to peel it. as far as the order of paint, we were just testing it out.
Yea. You dont necessarily need it, but it is good protection. Also the dip spray in the squirt bottle. Its like $30 I think, but really worth it. Keeps it from marring and such. And makes it smoother.
+Joshua Hamby sounds good mine on the very first day I had it didn't even have but 80 or less then that and I got a check engine light I got it when it had like 50 or 60 miles on it new and I've had problems with it ever since .
Before I saw the finished product. I thought you were out of your mind. I thought the truck looked great black but when I saw the outcome. I was blown away. It looks freaking killer. Great job!
The black was good. This was kind of a test subject to see what we'd looking at in the future. Glad you liked it. Much appreciated.
the gray and black grill color combo looks sick , great job!!!
thanks a lot. yea we wanted to change up the all gray.
The finish looks smooth as hell. You guys did a great job!
thanks a lot. the dip really does lay well
The truck is worth more than the house. HA HA! great work
Just what I was thinking!
It's not my home. It's a property I rent out. But yea, the truck is worth pro a my 8 times more I'd say. Not the 3 acres tho.
The music you add in the background is horrible. Kept making me think you someone was gonna jump out of the woods and murder you.
cool
hahahha thats exaclty what i thought
crheck out other vids... this one was the best by far.
ayy lmao
How much paint did you need for the dip ?
Did this to my truck and it looks too plain so I dipped some parts black so it’s not so plain. I dipped my roof, back bumper, and same area as this truck in the front. Doesn’t look so plain anymore. Now I’m starting to miss gloss but love the color so I’m prob going to auto flex the black areas.
Very NICE!!!
Can you provide a list of the actual products you purchased for this project?
You were the first ones I noticed that has used red in the dip mix!
+K.R. “ReemoDaGreat” Hairston Thanks man. I believe it was 1 gallon of gunmetal, 2 gallons of anthracite, and red flakes with the clear.
That looks REALLY FUCKIN good. Nice job and choice of colors.
+Sonny Gunz Thanks alot, and thanks for watching.
Great video ! The music had me thinking you guys were about to abducted by aliens . X - files style
lol. thanks. yea the music was a bad choice.
Doing this to my F250. Some day. After I actually buy one... 😂
It may after a few years. It holds up to a pressure washer tho as long as it was applied well.
Very very nice 👍 came out looking awesome 👏😎. Wish i can take mine and do it like that but black red lines and stuff
It's pretty easy actually. Dip is cool stuff.
lmao when you said i just tripped on a leaf spring
truck looks great. I been thinking of doing some of my car in plasti dip. I got a granite metalic 200 and I was thinking of blacking out the emblems all the trim and then doing the tires in a matte black with a metal flake finish.
that'd be good. you can use cans for small pieces
yea only thing im concerned about is how to tape it off so i dont peel the dip off when i take the tape off.
+TheRealCxixmx tape around an inch or 2 outside the cutline
Sick truck man. I dipped my Silverado matte black, i literally get people coming up to in parking lots complimenting me. I bet you get it all the time too.
How smooth did your dip turn out? Mine was a little rough to the touch, but not bad at all, but certainly not super smooth either.

how much was it to do urs i got a single cab silverado and i wanna do mine matte black
Noah Zapata cost me about $400. about $250 for the dip and $150 for the spray gun.
looks great im adding to my plastidip cart right now.. my question is how did you do it ? base coat all gray? then second coat gray and gunmetal mix? then third coat gray and clear? im looking to paint a tahoe so so far i have 5 gallons of gray then 2 gallons of gunmetal and 2 gallons of clear... does that sound correct? looking to buy within the next 24 hours.. any advise would be greatly appreciated.. is this something i should buy the gun and test DIY with no car painting experience? or should i buy the mats and try to get someone to spray my truck for 500-1000? do they need a special spray nozzle or equipment? should i go ahead and buy the gun incase they dont have one for this material? once again thanks in advance.

Wow. That actually looks badass!
This truck turned out awesome guys good job
thanks much
can't really see the red flakes in the video here its to bad. otherwise the actual color is a mix between anthracite grey and gun metal grey mixed togather? or where the last final coats just the anthracite grey?
That actually looks really good.
This is Amazing!!!!! Great work! Video is Very entertaining and informative!!! Got to share this!!!
That is the best looking dip truck I have seen on UA-cam most have streaks and spots that are darker ,great job I was going to do my truck but most videos I have seen look like shit you just changed my mind
+Kenneth Smallwood great. As long as you have a good spread, you're set
+Kenneth Smallwood awesome stuff man
Cool, but why pick such creepy music? Made me want to turn it off before I got to the end
Looks good! Hope it holds up for you (I've heard others say it peels off).
+Jake S. Hey thanks for watching. He peeled the dip off a little while back and redipped. Seemed to be great still. The bed should be fine.
I really like those headlights. Any idea where they were purchased??
+Alonzo Fields not sure man. Sorry.
Damn I know I’m super late hopefully you see my comment did you not tape the head and tail lights??? I didn’t see any masking on them did u just peel of the dip????
Ha no worries. I can't remember if we taped them or not. But if you don't, it is super easy to peel off a light. Nice body breaks to separate it.

Did this give you more of a flat look or really metallic glossy look during the day? I'm trying to match dark matte grey
Thomas H yea most of the plastidip leaves a matte finish unless you use a pearlizer or glossifier
nice home work!!
Thanks alot!
awesome job great finish looks sick!!
did you guys mix the clear gloss and the anthrecite along with the blaze on that last coat?? all three together??
honestly can't remember. I believe we did
+Joshua Hamby
ok thanx hey is it still dipped?? you dipped in June right?
how's it holding? ?
+Brian Villafana it was holding good. he peeled it tho a few weeks ago.
+Joshua Hamby
cool you guys used 4 gallons total?? 2 gunmetal 1 anthrecite and the clear gloss?? last question haha sorry but thanx alot man this video is super helpful
+Brian Villafana I think it was. Pretty sure. No prob
Looks mean as shit fellas. Nice magpul sticker.
You guys used one gallon of gun metal grey, 1 gallon of anthracite grey, then 1 gallon of anthracite grey and 1 gallon of glossifier + red tint right? the reason we ask is to duplicate the look on a project we are working on.
Kids Club Channel I believe that was correct. It's been a while.
Kids Club Channel did you ever finish the project? I’m doing the same to my truck but I didn’t order the clear or red powder. How did it turn out? Can you see the red flakes? Is it glossy?
I like that color... I'm gonna try it out..will see how a blue pearl works though
+MCham08 post a video response when you do.
that looks pretty fucking sick!! great job
+Luis Ramos much appreciated
How many gallons of each color did you use & how many grams of the pearls?
Were you using the DipYourCar kit? That looks like the sprayer they sell...
+Tanner Anders yea it is
Hey, truck looks awesome!! But how did the pearls turn out? can you see in with the anthracite grey? is it worth putting the pearls?
they're noticeable in the sun. it actually gave it a rustlike color in the sun that was pretty cool. I'd say if using a brighter color, pearls are more effective
thanks for quick reply!!! Im going to do mine soon! THANK BRO!
+Peter awesome. post a video
NICE!!!! About how many gallons did it take to do the truck?
+B&T I can't remember exactly. I recall 5 or 6
Joshua Hamby thanks for the quick response I appreciate that I'm in the process of ordering the paint now :)
+B&T awesome. I wouldn't use anymore than 6 gallons for a full size truck. It will start to fill gaps and it won't peel right.
He should plastidip his trailer house
It's "house trailer"..
+Maddox Troy lol
William Joseph Wise It’s a Mobile Home.
Hey I’m gonna do my Dodge Ram also , do you think I have to mask off the bumpers and grill if I want them dipped the same color as what the rest of the truck is gonna be dipped in?
Only of you want it a different color
That came out awesome - great job.
jjs777fzr hey thanks!
truck looks sweet. I'm about to do some dipping on my Dodge ram too.
+Mauricio Juarez nice. Post a video.
End result is awesome. Just wondering, is that Gunmetal, or Anthracite?
thanks. is both actually
that turned out sick how much time and how much money
+chevyboybrownjb83 thanks for watching. If I recall correctly it was around $300 to $400 on dip and a few hours.
Great Video..Can I ask how many gallons of dip and gloss did you use?
Thanks! If I remember correctly it was 4 and 1
Did the dip eat any of the clearcoat? There have been issues that the original paint clearcoat comes off. Have you experienced that?
+Mike Knows Lawn Care not on this one. He pulled off a few parts not too long ago. Just more so preserved the paint.
hey guys you guys did an awsome job on this dip.. Im doing my 4quad Dodge 1500 Ram. How much will i need you think for that truke. Im doing everything-rims and all.
+Carlos Velez around 5 gallons I'd say. Thanks alot
I have a grey Ram
what do you recomend on coats?
1st
2nd
3rd
4th
5th
? This will help me a lot.
+Carlos Velez depends what color you're going
same as you guys
LOl like the other guy said ,,,,still waiting for some looney to come out of the woods and chain saw...awsome..i love it
Did you mix Anthracite Gray w/ entire gallon of clear gloss and add the 2 packets blaze red pearls?
Gotta Love Regular Cab /´SHort Box.
So for the last coat you used 1 gallon of gloss with 1 gallon of asthrasice? I’m gonna do my Harley this color.
If I remember correctly, yes. It's been a while.
+Lucas Green you should be able to cover it with overspray
Secureteam10 has this theme song in their UFO videos, and the dudes name is Tyler lol
ok cool I'll get the idea but did you use him metal for the prime ,them go back with the grey an pearl mix
+Cleveland I think the 1st gallon was gray
How much did it cost to cover your whole truck ?
+Johnathon Samples around $400
Looks fucking awesome on a badass Ram. I just bought an '06 quad SRT-10 and I was thinking about dipping it. This is the EXACT color I want......2 questions.....
You said he peeled it off. Why? Was it ruined or....?
Did peeling it off jack up the paint at all? Thanks!
+Mike D thanks man. Srt10 niiiiice. He wanted to change the color, so he peeled it. The dip actually protects the paint.
Cool....thanks!
Véry good vidéo, and very good music.
man that's sweet ,what was that red you added at the end
+Cleveland I think it was just red flakes.
Sketchy setup but it turned out not nice. I’m about to do by truck the same color. Debating on going with plasti dip or something more permanent.
Great job. I have a 96 cummins 4x2 I wanna dip. It's that driftwood color and I'm thinking about going black cherry. Thoughts?
I'd have to check out that color. But if it's mostly black with some Red tint then I think that would be awesome
+Joshua Hamby that's the plan. I've looked into the dip your car company over the past couple of weeks. Good experience? How's the gun compared to say a standard Wagner electric
+Erik Gustafson the dip lays well. the gun is ok, but you have to keep the tube super clean. blow paint thinner thru it after a dip job
+Joshua Hamby thanks for the info. It's going to be an adventure. I have a camper shell on it as well so lots of work to do
Good luck on it. Post a video.
heard some Dropkick or Flogging Molly. Nice
Looks great, did it hold up well?
+Yert Rezik it did. He peeled it off and traded it not long after.
Is that supercharged? The end sounds like it has a huge supercharger but it may just be added in sounds.
Na it wasn't supercharged. It was what it sounded like tho. No added sounds.
Damn that truck sound like its running a huge supercharger.
Haha yea really did. May have been the transmission.
Badass. great video, love the replays. By the way,.truck looks good too.
you only used 1 gallon of anthercite grey and 1 gallon of glossifier to do the whole truck ?
I believe it was 4 gallons total
better late than never on the comment but gr8 end result you all did a great job
+llooll seNor thanks much!
+llooll seNor thanks alot!
How does this stuff hold up with time? Does it eventually start coming off on its own? Can you still wash your car with it on?
it hold up well. you can power wash it after a couple days and it won't come off as long as it was a good job
+Joshua Hamby cool thanks for the reply!
+38ecko np
That looks amazing I like the color I'll probably plastic dip my 97 Accord this same color after I get a fresh new paint job so my car doesn't get scratches all over
+Gravecb Seven Thanks. Cool, make sure and post a video.
How much did all that cost to paint the dodge ram??! BTW it came out really nice good work
+Nick Rocha thanks. The dip alone was around $300 I believe. The gun and such was a bit more.
Joshua Hamby Thanks do you guys have a link or something where you guys bought everything I'm planning on doing that to my dodge ram!
+Nick Rocha check out dipyourcar.com they have a ton of new stuff since we did this one.
dam that s**t came out real nice!
Looks really good.
Wow shit came out beautiful
+portagee dosage Thanks alot. Plastidip is a pretty cool way to change the color of your ride and protect the factory paint.
Hell yeah Flogging Molly. You guys are my soul mates. Awesome truck by the way😍
thanks a lot. flogging molly always a good choice
Looks AWESOME guys!
+aron john thanks man.
Dude you did a Great Job. I'm doing my car this weekend
+Detroit12boi I appreciate it!
nice job guys! planning to do my Jeep soon.
I appreciate it. Be sure and post a video!
can you even notice the red peal in person?
Wait, for the finals coat you used a gallon of clear with a gallon of anthracite grey? Oh crap... I didn’t order a gallon of gloss.
What kind of exhaust is that?
Dude,
How many coats u did on ur car? How long plasti dip stood on ur car? Why u used gunmetal grey first and after anthracite grey?
Thx
+TANAZEFTI Akram it was maybe 5 coats. when it cures, it sticks really good until you want to peel it. as far as the order of paint, we were just testing it out.
+Joshua Hamby
Why u used gunmetal grey at first? Why u didn't use only anthracite grey for the whole car? Thx
just running tests to see how it turned out
+Joshua Hamby
Ok and how many coats per gallon?
1.5 to 2
How many gallons did you need? I have a quad cab Dodge that I'm doing soon and was wondering how many gallons to buy?
You should be fine with 4 of the color and 1 or 2 clears if you're going that direction.
so the clear goes on after the dip right?
Yea. You dont necessarily need it, but it is good protection. Also the dip spray in the squirt bottle. Its like $30 I think, but really worth it. Keeps it from marring and such. And makes it smoother.
what muffler is on there?
what was that powder color you mixed in called and where can I get it?
I can't remember. Maybe rust or orange of some sort. It's on dipyourcar.com
Hi dude
To get the anthracite gray you used gray gunmetal + silver metalizer??
Thanks
no anthracite gray is its own color
+Joshua Hamby
thx for response! Omg I'm living in France and didnt find this color, whats about smoke plasti dip ? Same us anthracite gray ?
+TANAZEFTI Akram It's probably very similar. check out dipyourcar. they have them all.
Sick truck came out nice!
what exhaust do you have? sounds nice
Oziel Solis I believe he put Borla on there. not sure specifics.
dipped my ride but it seem to get dirty easier for some weird reasons
Nice job.like the newer style dodge hood.i would have clear coated the grill.due to bugs.
Nice Job guys!!.
+smartbomb101 much appreciated. stay tuned for a new video. FLAME RED with PURE GOLD ALLOY FLAKES and REPTILE FIP PEARLS.
nice,,,,I want that exact color are will to share the paint combination
+Cleveland I wish I could remember. I thought I mentioned in the video. But I think it was 1 gallon anthracite gray and 3 gallons gunmetal.
Do you have any performance upgrades mine is a '14 Similar to yours
+Jordan Enriquez that's Tyler's truck. He has a K&N intake, a chip, magnaflow, and a lowering kit so far.
+Joshua Hamby ok cool have you guys ever had any problems with the truck like mechanically?
+Jordan Enriquez not that I know own of. runs like a champ
+Joshua Hamby sounds good mine on the very first day I had it didn't even have but 80 or less then that and I got a check engine light I got it when it had like 50 or 60 miles on it new and I've had problems with it ever since .
I have a 98 chevy 1500 , you think 4 or 5 cans will do ?
+Erick Martinez go with 5
what make and model air gun do you use? does this get thinned out before applying? looking to use on my drum kit.
it's the Dipyourcar.com gun. honestly if you're doing a drum set, I'd use spray cans. unless you're doing pearls or flakes
how many coats total? how many gallons did you need to use?
+Joshua Hamby k much appreciated for info and recommendation
it was 4 or 5 gallons I believe. no prob
The question I was asking myself the whole time was why did he spend more money on the truck then his home?
andrew medellin the owner of the truck is not the owner of the home
So how many gallons of each did u spray and how is it holding up
+Kalen McCormick I think it was 6. He peeled it off a couple years ago and did another color.
Why do you have horror piano music?? I feel like a zombie is gonna come out of nowhere.
I'm not sure. free youtube
LOOKS SICK
+Wyatt Flamont thank ya.
How much would you charge me to do my 2004 Ford F-150 ?
+v bee where are you located?
