      I concur, makes it very easy to follow, just dont forget to change the speed to .5 though. Watched it in 2020 and still came out with the same great result.

    Your videos are great because most of the "tutorial" videos don't have voice overs. With your videos I don't even need to see what you're doing and it works perfectly. Thanks.

    For those interested, Marty mentions not being able to change the co-ords BG to black after applying. I found a solution for it. All credit for this goes to Filip Vandueren at Creative Cow.
    Re: How do I create a lens flare on a transparent background?
    by Filip Vandueren
    on Jan 29, 2004 at 3:55:41 am
    - create the lensflare on a black layer
    - go to the channels-palette;
    - command-click on the red channel to load it as a selection
    - shift + command-click on the green channel
    - shift + command-click on the blue channel
    you've now added up r+g+b
    - create a layer-mask (it should use the selection)
    - apply the layer-mask (by throwing it away)
    - choose Layer/Matting/Remove Black Matte.
    [- set the layer to screen.]
    this gives exactly the same effect as Photoshop would
    ME: If you want the Polar layer completely white simply go to Image/Adjustments/Desaturate. This will pull any of the red from the lens flare out, making it black/white. To make it completely white, just go into the effects for the layer and give it a color overlay, and change it to white. You can also make it any color you want from that point.
    I also wanted to thank you, Marty. Your tutorials are among the best anywhere that I've found. You make things easy to understand, and quick to grasp and accomplish! THANK YOU!

      Yes. The layer style window hasn't changed. By default, when "Color Overlay" is clicked, the Color Picker window appears. I'm sure there's a simple explanation, however, unless one inspects your document, it's hard to find the source of the problem.
