- Betty & Jane came to Arthur's Acres Animal Sanctuary from a medical testing lab where they were used in testing for burn victims. They were also used most recently to test the dual-ventilator to help combat COVID-19. Due to this, they are considered heroes and were allowed to be rescued out instead of being euthanized.
Joy and Wren endured excruciating tests for topical lasers. The medical research laboratories systematically and methodically burn the pigs at different temperatures and depths, then apply burn creams to see which cream works the best! Notice the burn marks on Joy and Wren. Imagine what that must feel like!
Katniss was locked in the middle of the woods in a shed. Neighbors heard the pigs screaming, and called the police. The police with the help of the neighbor found the shed, and the door was screwed shut, trapping the pigs. The pigs were laying up to their neck in their own feces. The pigs took turns lying on each others backs to keep their heads out of the toxic levels of feces so that they could breathe. They were starving and unrecognizable as pigs. Completely emaciated. The Vet said Katniss was near death. Todd the owner of Arthur's Acres Animal Sanctuary, took Katniss back with him to the Sanctuary, and for 4 months they did every type of therapy on Katniss. She couldn't walk when she arrived. After 4 months she started to walk and gained back much of her current weight!
Eve came to Arthur's Acres Animal Sanctuary with a horrible front foot. The bones in her foot needed to be removed, she was "Mechanically Blind" from forced feeding, neglect leading to excessive dangerous obesity. She was rescued on New Years Eve of 2020.Exactly one year ago. She was part of a hoarding case and was locked in a small dog crate outside. Watch how one single adjustment puts her to sleep!

Pigs are such beautiful and interesting animals. This really horrible how humans not only mistreat them, but think that we can just do whatever we want to them in general.
My heart breaks knowing that in this age of high tech we still subject animals to horrid testing.
The love and care the Sanctuary guy and the doctor show towards these beautiful animals warms my heart.
Ones on pig farms get it worse.
@@vitallink4830 I've been to a hog killing...I'm a southern girl....one shot to the head. It's just about that time of year. I'm glad I don't have to go to those anymore. My grandfather raised hogs and chickens....believe me, the chickens have it worst!
@@blkmjcwmn61 Unfortunately i onced worked in a slaughterhouse so can understand. We killed lamb and cattle, some lamb are only 10 weeks old, we would also have the dairy industry send us bobby calves (male calf) that are 1 to 3 days old, and in calf (pregnant) dairy cows cause they became dry. About 10,000 animals per month we kill. I will never forget that job and suffer with some terrible mental health issues and cause me a lot of problems in my life from being voilent to abusing drugs and alcohol.
I have seen and committed some of the most brutal things man can do on innocent beings. I'm not a religious person but if there is something out there I just hope i will be forgiven when my times comes.
Animal testing is done because there is no alternative. Without it, biology amd medicine couldn't do anything.
@@seb0rn739 We have been doing stuff like that for 100s of years. I think we should know more than enough by now. They also use dogs to test on. Plus there is only one country that requires animal testing by law and that's China. So any company that you buy from thst sell products in China test all kinds of things on all kinds of animals. Nivea for example claim that their products are not tested on animals but they lie because they sell their products in China where it's a law.
I thought it was kinda sweet how Todd was protective of his pigs and how he was so affectionate with each of them. Pigs are so smart. I think they knew you were there to help them. And I’m a huge advocate for a mud bath now and again. Costs a lot more for me because I have to pay a spa to do it!

I feel so happy that these pigs got another chance at a good life. More and more things that happen are starting to come out in the open now. As sad and horrible as it is, hopefully it will bring about a change. It's starting to hit the media about animal testing in dogs, it's heartbreaking. Looks like some great adjustments. Instant sleep and mud baths. What a great day at the farm. and the little dog seemed to be a little bit of a project manager overseeing it all.
I absolutely love the owner of these pigs - you can see how much these pigs love him & he loves them - awesome to see ❤

@@AnimalCrackerDrDougWillen the reason I ask is because I did take my dog to a veterinarian who specialized in holistic medicine, and she treated my dog who had intervertebral disc disease, and was paralyzed in the hind legs. After about 4 accupuncture and laser treatments, my dog had regained full use of his hind legs. This was a much better option than the surgery that was recommended by his previous veterinarian. A lot easier on the pocket book too!

Unfortunately, animal testing is still necessary in biological and medical research. There are not enough appropriate alternatives yet.
Without it we wouldn't have Covid vaccines for example. Or any meds, actually.
It's a whole different story for the cosmetic industry though.

animal cruelty laws all across the world are a JOKE! they are nothing more than a slap on the wrist at 'best' ...should be death penalty for ALL cruelty and abuse of animals
In pig farms they kill piglets by smashing them on the head with a metal pole or throwing them on the ground. It's know as knocking. If you eat pigs you fund it, and that's just one of the many barbaric things pigs are subjected to.
Pigs are the dang best
Do pink pigs get sunburned? Do they need UVA/UVB skin protection? Or does the mud do that for them?
I can testify an atlas adjustment is the best most relaxing adjustment. As seen by the pig🤣😂

Pigs are cool. They are so smart and friendly. I don't eat bacon, or pork at all. My only issue about them is they are omnivorous. There was an awful lady in Oregon who was hiring helpers on her farm, then killing them and feeding them to her pigs. Yes, she is locked up. Unfortunately, because they ate people, they were euthanized. So sad what we do to and how we treat animals.
