I got mine today and programed it for my 1999 chevy silverado, I've been playing with it like a kid. I keep setting off the alarm, when I bought the truck it didn't have the key fob
the chopz is correct. for that make and model, you will need to take it to an automotive shop or chevy dealer and they will have to program the keyfob for you.
2011-2014 vehicles have to be programmed with a scan tool at a dealership. If they could not get it to program, check with boost auto and see if the fob you have is defective.
This only works for 1999 thru 2013 models. 2014 and up you need via OBD2 module to plug in temporary.
I have the correct fob for my year of truck and everything. I get my tahoe into programming mode, but it won't pair

On old early 2000 fords it's easy you cycle the key on off 8 times doors will lock and unlock then you program the key fob

These are retro fit keys for older model vehicles. They will not work for newer models.

Key fobs for newer vehicles usually need to be programed by a dealer with some sort of diag tool. You may not be able to program them yourself.
