    A quick update on the Phoenix 2400! Added the TeleFlyPro OSD module for the MFD antenna tracker, which should greatly expand its FPV usability now! Also, took the time to replace the RunCam Micro Swift camera with a Split Mini 2 one... narrowing down my FPV view of the plane to 140 degrees... but also providing me with a Full HD recording from the vertical stabilizer of the plane, and oh boy what a joy that is!

      ArxangelRC that it is! I used to fly at a old un-used local park that only dog walkers used but this past year they decided they aren’t letting any RC usage in the park including RC trucks ,cars ,boats , planes and definitely not drones! I suspect it was because the dogs Walkers complained just enough to get this pushed.
      I no just about every time I went to this park I’d have at least 2 dog walkers walk up to me and actually tell me to stop flying because I was upsetting there precious dog! I mostly ignore these people which in turn made things worse. I tried talking to them calmly before only to find that they where to ignorant to understand anything so I just told myself when they approach me again I’ll just say I’m busy and please leave me alone but as I stated that just makes things worse in the end because they start acting like children and stomping their feet to get there way which they did in the end.

    Sweet! One of your more exciting flights I sure! 😉 Agree that RunCam needs to come out with a 4K version of their Split series - hopefully sooner than later. It looks like you have a second RunCam on the nose - do you toggle between the two during flight? BTW, I looked into flashing my Matek F722 with ArduPilot but so far the builds are limited to Matek's F4 boards 😥

    • @ArxangelRC
      @ArxangelRC  5 років тому +1

      Yeah, the builds do not support everything out there... but I hope soon! As for the RunCam... truth be told... that cameras is up there only for weight, it is not operational! Very Nice. Hello I come from the quadcopters and betaflight. But I would love to start with airplanes and waypoints so I started to read how I could start with mission planner. honestly I have already made a z84 wing with a mini apm in it. She has flown exactly 3x well and even 1x with waypoints but after a crash I never managed to get it right. I have gone the same way as you with my ranger 2000 that I have now. everything exactly wired the same. till the arming everything went well. The motor did not want arm first. But after a lot of reading and youtube I found out how to get it done. The problem I still have is that I am about half of my throttle and above the motor starts to stutter. Before half throttle there is no problem at all. I thought the esc is broken. but have it calibrated and tried throw betaflight and works well there. I am afraid that it is a parameter but I know here just a little too little to find out which it could be. It would be nice if you can help me in the right direction. or maybe send a .param file so that I can compare it on a spare board. I do not know how to proceed. but would love to start flying. I have also bought a micro sky hunter to also fly these with autopilot. All help would be welcome .best regards Rene

    Yo... In case you want to increase your descent rate without having to dive the aircraft and increase the speed you can look into programming the ailerons to perform a "butterfly" by pointing the flaps down and the ailerons up by the same amount. Let's say 10 Deg. As you have 4 servos on your wings this should be doable. It will increase the drag and lower the lift of the wing while maintaining the operation of the control surface to control roll. If you have a programmable remote control maybe there is already preset for this. It will act similar to a air-brake.

    • @ArxangelRC
      @ArxangelRC  5 років тому +1

      Hmmmm... and interesting idea... might give it a try at some point... but I usually don't fly in such conditions! :) Besides, testing the durability of the plane in such conditions and at high speed... is pretty valuable! :)

  • @ATCATL

    Do you recommend it for fpv? There seems not to be much space inside the fuselage.
    Efficiency probably should be similar to Mini-Talon.

    • @ArxangelRC
      @ArxangelRC  4 роки тому

      I have no idea what the efficiency is compared to the Mini Talon, because I don't have a mini talon, and I've not played with this one long enough to keep an eye on that metric, but it is pretty nice for FPV, especially with the camera on the tail! Also, I am flying it on a measly 4S2P LiIon pack... and it can fly for quite a while... and it is pretty streamlined as far as body shape goes... so it should be pretty efficient!

    you must have so many planes, how about a giveaway for one of them?

      Well... problem with that is... I tend to throw away the boxes... and they are rarely in good condition when I am done with them... and the shipping cost alone from Bulgaria would be about as much as buying it brand new from China... :S I would have to keep the giveaway confined to EU countries only for any chance of decent shipping... and besides... I am not sure I want subscribers that are only waiting for giveaways... rather than content... :P I could be wrong though! :)

      I'm only jealous of all your planes :-)
      I'm definitely here for the content, hence why I'm a subscriber.
      I guess doing giveaways would be too much extra work, especially if you've already thrown the boxes away.
      Don't worry, I'll keep watching lol

      I will see if I can figure something out.... Eachine have offered me to do a giveaway for for likes of their new FB page... not sure I like this idea... but if you guys want a giveaway... might consider it! :) Besides... lots of planes becomes tedious at times... trust me... sometimes I wish I could only have 2-3 planes at most and concentrate on them only! :D

      @@ArxangelRC How about electronics? Flight controllers, VTXs and so on. I'm sure you won't need large boxes and expensive shipping for those, and I'm sure you have LOTS of unused items all around the place... could be easier for you than shipping whole planes

      Thing is... I only replace those when something breaks... I have so many planes fully equipped at the same time... that I rarely have spare gear available... other than in the "broken bits" bin! :D My Clouds, for instance, is still running a Micro APM and I am not touching it just because it is working and I have no issues with it! But that FC is ancient compared to what is available right now! But it is working, and it is working well!
