Hey guys! If you did enjoy the video, pls leave a comment. It unironically does help my channel grow so I can keep bringing these videos to you guys!
Wow i'm suprised you only have 1k subscribers your videos are at least 50k tier 😭 I think you'll make what you want to do (have enough people to support you) a reality. Keep pushing!
Im in a weird spot where i love animating but hate drawing after years of doing it lol this vid might inspire me to get my groove back if not then whateva i'll figure sum out👌
Im glad its helped a little bit, but even if you find your spark thats okay too! As long as your living your best life brother!
@@elhombrechorizo great news im back on my 2d art/animation journey because of this video! Tysm for making this vid! Was def the push i needed 👍
This is a very inspirational video lol. I’m glad you added that part after the industry rant that you’re still trying to get through the door just like us. Even if I never get through that door, it’s a passion of mine to atleast try.
i've been using the fighter's generation for like nigh on a decade now and I haven't once considered it for animation reference, it's such a good resource and I'm glad it's been kicking for as long as it has been. Thanks so much for this video. I stumbled upon your stuff because I hadn't animated in a while, I got kind of burnt out from trying to go into 'the industry' and i'm trying to recontextualize my relationship to animation in a way that i'm now enjoying it for my own sake rather than the approval of others. Thanks again. These are very important videos.
Dude! Im glad the video resonated so much for you!! Believe it or not it resonated with me a lot when making it and really helped me understand why I do animate :p
Mario guitar was awesome.
Leaving a comment so the channel grows. It needs to grow. All must see.
Also loved the referencing talk.
Can I just say, this video is probably one of the most underrated videos about wanting to get into animating, EVER. This deserves MORE attention!!!! I've been going on an art grind lately, and hope to finally get back into animation again this 2024 year, this video helped me a ton, and I can't wait to get back into things again. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!
That means so much to me and I really appreciate that!!
I went to high school to learn informatics, the entire 4 years i was studying mostly algorithms and data structures and thinking "damn this is fucking useless". Fast forward 4 years, a month or two before the national standardized exam in my country (not the SAT, this ones dramatically harder), im watching some videos on game dev from a guy i enjoy- HEY I KNOW THAT I LEARNED IT ALL IN SCHOOL- YO WAIT THIS IS WHAT THATS FOR?! Watching more videos... turns out all that "boring shit" is probably the most useful things i was taught in school, which i dismissed for years thinking i dont need them.
Copy pasting from google, gazing for hours on end at a library i cant make logic off. Making tiny tweaks over and over until my program actually works because i dont know what the fuck else to do... wait so why the fuck do i get depressed over not getting something right the first time or straight from imagination when it comes to art and animation?
Its insane how in so many practically identical aspects of life we treat ourselves completely different. When programmers talk about learning programming they compare it to art, when artists talk about learning art they compare it to learning an instrument, and i wouldnt be surprised if musicians compare learning an instrument to art or riding a bike.
Its all the same fucking shit which you learn in exactly the same fucking way.
I think the difference is that all these have different levels of "abstraction" between input and output. Your input (action/practice) is significantly more abstract in some fields. Looking at yourself performing the activity or even at others its hard to tell what theyre doing differently, its a lot harder to see the hard earned experience and instead it mostly seems like "this person was born cracked".
Naner…Brother. im so used to your cute quipy replys and comments LOL this is so eloquent!
YES, the shit that seems most mundane and worthless will always be the stuff downline where youre like “oh wait nvm this shit is great”
then you have to be the person you hated when you tell new blood the equivalent of “did you turn it on and off again? “
Because thats how you become awesome at something
subscribed, this man is an inspiration
Hola, gracias for your penetrating insights. Those are good references and some good exercises for animation practice you mentioned. Yeah, the looming AI revolution could signal the death knell for some jobs in the animation creation process, but it could also mean a whole new golden age of animation. Fresh unique animation, not the same old derivative commercial stuff, is good. Quirky and different is better than boilerplate. More exaggeration is better. I like to see and salute people flying their own little individual freak flags with their own unique flair. UA-cam is great to enjoy the variety of human animation expression! Whatever animation is used, the main thing is to tell a story. Tell that story your way, or, if you're working for someone, tell their story their way and just take the paycheck.
I keep seeing all the work of all these fresh young folks, right out of animation school. So much talent out there! Like any career, I suppose you have to get out there and hustle and network to get gigs and jobs. Ugh. In my case, animation has become just a form of digital doodling with no expectation of any career success. Oh, I thought maybe someday of going on fivver and offering my hacky amateurish cartoon services, but there are so many really good real artists already doing that, and ultimately turning a hobby into "work' and a "job" just isn't appealing to me at all. Of course I live a life of ease and leisure so I don't have to worry about making money for food with animation. Wish you the best!
i dont ever plan on animating, im more of a manga/comic guy but this video was so inspirational and informative. thank you!
Im glad you liked the video so much and found it helpful!!
Well the manga/comic industries have similar to worse problems in terms of breaking in and making a living. BUT the tips for reference and stuff are just as relevant for drawing as they are for animation!
I mean, I want to learn how to draw and not animate. But this video did give me motivation and had tips that are useful.
And your videos are so unbelievably well made.
I hope your channel gets lucky with the algorithm.
im really glad it helped man! I hope big daddy algorithm blesses up too! If it doesnt, this video will help and find who it needs via fate and im okay with that as well!
Also blind contour and reference are also gonna be your best in learning to draw
@@elhombrechorizo Thanks for the response. Keep up with the good work!
Great vid. Im almost 24, an econ major, and a mid artist. But I wanna animate. Not even as a job, I just want to do it for myself for now. Thank you for this video.
Really helpful vid thanks 🔥
just awesome. Thanks bro
The best analogies ever and holy hell you better blow up one day
Thank you
Loved the video.
sudddenly i think i wanna pull up flipnote studio and learn how to draw again :3
Dude, This pretty much condenses my entire 1 year long journal I did when I was teaching myself how to draw + all my knowledge of animation so far + way more into a swift 20 min video.
Definite recommend if anyone asks me for art related tips.
I really appreciate that! In glad it resonated so much like that ❤
I’ve been learning to animate for the last 3 years and this video was still incredibly helpful, I completely agree that if u don’t look at references or practice (like me) you won’t get anywhere. Thank you for making this video
Its a process man, everyone moves and learns at different paces! Im glad the vid was helpful :)
Yes
Honestly, I'm still not sure if I want to animate or not. Drawing is super fun for me and I love learning and improving there, no doubt in that, but I haven't made many animations yet and I find it to be boring and tiring more often than fun. Guess I'll have to find out as time goes on
Maybe youre not an animator man AND THATS OKAY
Try out storyboarding! Or vis dev (character design, prop design, background design)
@@elhombrechorizo it's true that it's not for everyone. Thanks for the tip (:
where is this from? 14:47
im still trying to learn how to draw lol o7
ILL BE BACK
You dont have to know how to draw to animate :3
what program 3d animation (only aniamtion something less than blender just simple character) do you recomened
Brother. Im sorry. im gonna be so real with you. What your asking for isnt real lol
every 3D software is a space station. Until we get a guy whose both an animator and engineer to make that, your best bet is sfm with tf2 models
@@elhombrechorizo aa yeah well I truly belived it exsit:") Since blender is like so hard to use and every other I tried or checked as well. But thanks for the honest answer tho
@@zaurs.je.kwaitki8992 Youre all good dude! I just wanted to be honest so you dont think you’re the problem. 3D software all just has an insane learning curve BUT once you learn it, youre cruising. You just gotta commit to suffering for a few years lol
@@elhombrechorizo can't wait XD
