I like pencil 2d, It's very beginner friendly program and even tho It is very limited, that's kind of the simplicity that makes it stand out I think, I remember trying out open toonz first and i couldn't even start animating bc I was so confused by the program itself 😭😭😭

bRO THESE videos are so fucking funny and fun to watch, I honestly was gonna listen to them, but I have to wait until I'm back in front of the screen again before I watch them because your jokes and editing/drawings are so funny, and your genuinely just saying REAL SHIT. Like I seriously resonated with your speedrunning softwares video talking about tutorials, because I genuinely hate tutorials and haven't watched one in years because they are just SO HARD to follow for me at least. A lot of the time they move way too fast, and skip small details, so you don't do exactly what they are doing, and a lot of the time the footage isn't zoomed in, so you can't see everything they clicked on. Sometimes they'll click on something super quick and small, so you end up deviating because you missed a small detail, and you just can't follow it. Its so brain numbing to have to keep replaying to see what you missed. But I think I'm gonna give it a shot again, because in truth, I only know my software at a surface level, I just use the brush tool and the lasso tool and layers. I don't know all the time saving shortcuts and other tools. I really should learn, so I want to try so I can actually be good.

Leaving a comment to help this reach many. Also have watched all of your videos on how to become an animator. Now i need to collect my thoughts and begin my own journey on what i ACTUALLY want to do. Learn to Animate like a studio level or like the pose to pose style in storytelling animation on YT or just a ball that bounces for my pleasure. Thanks a bunch man.

Personally, i love animation and making simple stories, and instead of trying to break out into the industry and get a job with some tv studio or animation studio. I want to start my own studio and do things differently than everyone else

For me I like ibispaint and flipaclip ibispaint for normal drawing,animating with out audio,and just doodling and flipaclip for lipsyncing,audio,importing downloaded/recorded videos for lip syncs and drawing and capcut for editing the videos and main audios and sounds and alight motion for clean animation so i dont break my drawing tablet but I'm in middle school so I'll probably find other programs I like

maya is great. rarely crashes unless youre doing something you shouldnt do in any software like recursion. its really expensive tho unless you have student access where its free. its also 3d only so if you want 2d youre a bit out of luck. it can Technically be done but youre better off using literally anything else

I use opentoonz, and it's pretty decent, as long as you turn off autosave and save manually often because if you don't do th- comment about opentoonz has crashed, segementation fault, send crash report? (it's gotten better with the crashing tho) That said, it's not a software that will be nice to you if you don't know how to draw.

Are you planning on continuing this series? I love this alot as someone who has a passion for creating when i was 6, especially animation. I 1st got exposed to this series with the 3rd, and i decided to watch all the parts. Your videos are really comforting and they tell someone who wants to get into animation a really nice story. I have been doing 3d animation for almost 3 years now, started when i was 12, had a 1 year hiatus due to my laptop imploding onto itself, came back to it as off last year August. I had to learn alot of the tips and challenges you mention on my own. I feel like to many, animation seemed like a loop of tediousness that wont stop, until you finished what you started a long time ago. But i think its just them not knowing the fundamentals of animation, if you just break it down, that task doesn't seem so impossible after all. But with anything that takes alot of determination and patience, comes discipline.. And everything cant be easy, but if that is enough to make someone reconsider. That is just beautiful

my very first animation software on my computer is adobe animate and holy fuck its painful, it used to crash every 10mins (luckily my dad managed to kind of fix it, it crashes every 30mins to an hour now So yay ig?) I can't import videos or sound without out attempting su1c1de like Jesus Christ but other than all that it is a really good animating tool but i think I shouldn't of gone into it as my first but there's no going back now so 😭

As a semi-blender user I completely agree with the Ease of Use description.

LMAO that Blender example makes me feel better. I STRUGGLED so hard with learning it, it seems like such a useful tool but..Geezes I barely knew where to start😭 Honestly if they released a paid version with a more organized ui then I would fuckin pay for it
