- Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Audi R8, Nissan GTR, Porche GT2, Ferrari etc. Im not scared of anything. NORDICTUNING is strong within this one.
Vettes, Audis, Porches, Ferraris etc
you bring it, we beat it!
SAAB, the budget Koenigsegg
Holy shit, the SAAB defeated Godzilla.
But not a Corvette or even an R8... GTR let off the gas? :p
Is this the 2.0 motor
How much power could a stock block handle
Its a 2.3l
If you swao the pistons it can reach past 500bhp no worries
@@miljororforsprakpartiet290 Could be on of the early base R35, Black Edition or Nismo Edition would be another story. I am more surprised how slow that 430 Scuderia was unless these hood decals were fake, they should be exclusive to the Scuderia afaik.
must be sad when your super sport car loses to 4 cylinder family car :D
Would not call it a family car tho
family car? 2 seats, no interior and a shit ton of $$$ for the mods that made it possible to "beat" the super sport car... lmao.
No, i rather keep the sports car with full interior, AC and the luxury and still be able to keep up with the stripped down modded car that makes you deaf every time the tiniest pebble hits the car while driving lmao
@@k1leon Don't need it, delete it
It was a familj car from the start. But still fwd, thats badass.
@@k1leonnot more then 10000 eur in mods, plus price of Saab is 1-200 eur, and Max weight saved here is 150kg. So Even with all the luxuries this would win
The potential of these Saab engines is amazing. The Pikes Peak 9-3 did 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds. About in how long it takes to say: "Two point three seconds." Pretty good for a 2.0 liter engine.
Wasn´t that twin engined?
@@ThePeeppeeppeep The record set in 2002 was with a 2.0L engine and AWD. The engine produced a whopping 750BHP and the car, all together, weighed around 950kg or at least sub 1000kg.
@@ThePeeppeeppeep no and i believe it held the record for 10 years.
quite amazing considering Saabs generally have really bad 0-60 times, even compared to slower cars
@@iliketobathify All FWD cars have a rather slow 0-100. Though, Saabs don't have a particularly slow 0-100 for an FWD. The Drivetrain is a rather exceptionally responsive one for a FWD car. They dominate though, from 40-120 or 40 - 240.
Anyway, we were talking about a AWD drivetrain. Which does 0-100 in 2.3s on _gravel_
Saab the only race car with a cup holder....
haha
:D
lol :D
Fwd race car 😁
uh not mine lol
with the coolest cupholder... if you have the flippy kind!
Love the video, and the car! I have an 01 9-3 with a stage 1 tune. People will always laugh when I tell them I have a SAAB, or say something like "isn't SAAB not even a company anymore?" Haha. But aside from some maintenance issues it really is a great car and the tune really woke it up. Anyone who goes for a ride is surprised by how it gets up and goes.
I have a Maptun Stage 2 and I can spin the front wheels on dry pavement with new Michelin’s when the TCS is off and in Sport mode.
@@chijen2010 on wisch gear?
SAAB made some very good cars. Especially the 900 Turbo, 93 with the 900 look and 9000 CD. My next car will be a 900 or 93 5-doors :)
Took all the words out my mouth
I always tell people who hate on saab to watch top gears video on the 2002 saab 95 aero.
This is the best video yet that shows Saabs true performance and nice driving btw that was awesome!!!

I’ve been trying to find a Saab video like this for too long! Thank you guys 🙏🏼
It's so satisfying to see the Saab toast all the big boys...tuned. Great vid...may you boys roast them forever 👍
I love it... Have a Saab 9-3 stage 1 tuned (225HP/340nM) have seen 253 km/h on GPS.

That is mental! I currently got a MY99 9-3 Cabrio B204E with stage 1, around 220 hp! From low pressure turbo to high pressure turbo. I love it
Thats great. I remember my first Saab.

My fav video of all time. Guys you kicked ass! The Saab engine is so tuneable and strong. I'm laughing all through this video. I would use the word "Underdogs" but to be honest that would apply really to the people on your right of the road.

SAAB is underrated af
That Saab is a crazy beast.
I love the way it feels when it pulls, I just hate my take off bog.
... I've driven Saabs since a 1978 99 Turbo ... surprised a lot of other drivers w/ this strange looking car ... the funnest thing was setting off the "exact change" toll booth alarms back in the 70's-80's ... won a lot of red light to red light challenges ... but now you have +600hp Mustangs and Hellcats ...
if only they offerd awd.... my biggest issue with my stage 3 viggen is traction.
9-3 areo, they have a AWD 6 speed

I have Saab 9-3 2.0T SE 2002. I love it. An amazing car, even though old, and needs service more often. People laugh at Saab, as it got bad reputation because of bankruptcy, little they know is that GM destroyed it, eventually gone bankrupt (2009), and sold Saab along several other brands. There is much more to this story.
Luckily, NEVS is next Saab, although without the brand.
Koenigsegg is the next SAAB
Hi would you still recommend 9-3 SE 2002 to buy these days? There is one in my area and Im pretty tempted for that price and condition. It is anniversary, automatic. What are the potential issues to deal with?
@@viliamgajdos5917 I would def recommend if you know exactly what you're buying, meaning regularly serviced, in good condition and error free. The last thing you want is an old Saab where you need to invest a lot into maintenance. They're pretty complex and different beasts, and not every mechanic will work on them.
Overall engine health is the most important point. My Saab eventually had a fatal engine failure, probably because previous owner didn't took any care of it. At that age, replacing engine is not worth it, unless car body is in perfect condition and worth keeping..
@@xZeroOffical thanks for the advice. Considering engines are in a good condition, Im simply getting lost in picking the right Saab model: 93 vs 95, OG vs NG. There are so many options and Im getting nervous every time somebody says the true Saab was made up to let`s say 1999 and GM era is just rubish. I do like 93NG body design most but it has the worst interior right? I like the interior quality of 93/95 OG most but the body shapes are honestly outdated. Is 95 2006-2009 the best compromise? Still fairly good and quality interior and a quirky exterior? Let`s consider the engine is well maintained. Which one would you recommend me to buy for a daily use? Is there a rule saying "never buy this particular model no matter what"?
@@viliamgajdos5917 You're welcome. No rule for that, though I like the 9-3 more. GM Saabs are not what Saab used to be, but they're still good old reliable Saabs with perks only Saabs used to have. I don't think you can go wrong with either 9-3 or 9-5. I would suggest you go for sport edition. These have some really nice touches.
Personally, I would aim for newest available model.
Btw avoid old automatic transmission cars. Automatic transmission tends to detoriate quite much with mileage (especially if not maintained), and cost of repairs are absolutely insane.
love of saabs
That is fucking awesome
even after turbocharging and severe upgrades, Saab engines seem to be more reliable than expected, very little of them blew out or had issues like Subaru head gasket which is supposed to be turbocharged
subarus are really bad, boxer engine is design error by nature
Perfect. Saab rules!
När jag är på dåligt humör går jag in och kollar det här klippet. "Så ska det fan se ut!"

Tuned saab, nothing better :) Turbo
Wow. I'm about to pick up a 2011 9-3. My first Saab (usually I'm a Volvo guy). Hoping to tune it some.
Saabs are surprising little cars. My 01 9-3 soon to be stage 3 tuned. 😈
What all did you have to do to internals? I have a 03 93 arc was gonna go to brew city boost stage 2
@@dylancorfield9462 for a stage 3 you dont have to mess with internals. Its near the limit though so it would be wise to get it done at some point. For internals i have only done my cams so far, but those arent required. if you do forged pistons and rods you can get crazy and go for for 700+hp. If you have a place to send it i can break down what mods you should do for each stage tune.
@@dylancorfield9462 i notice you asked about a stage 2. you really dont need to do too much to get there. Mostly just improve airflow. You will be surprised how many supposedly fast cars you will make look stupid.
slumlord racing oh okay cool thank! Yeah I mean we can definitely talk about parts and mods but quick question in terms of tunes which tune have you seen so far that has best “put you in your seat” value before having to get forged pistons and rods, cam up graded axel fly wheel and clutch, my arc and I think all 9-3 pretty much have that terrible rev hang stock so I don’t wanna push it terribly hard or close to limits with out atleast a clutch and flywheel
slumlord racing haven’t replied so I’m gonna make another comment it’d like to chat about upgrades and tuning and such if you have any other social media I’d like to dm or pm if you could I’d appreciate it
That's some SIERRA ALFA ALFA BRAVO. JESUS

I cannot wait to Tune my 2002 Convert Viggen. I have wondered if you can put the 2.8 vs with the 6speed trans in the Viggen. Great video. I love Saabs.
så jävla kul å bränna förbi muskelbilar på raksträcka hahah
putting it in right for the saab name
Just got a 2000 9-3 with 53k miles on it. It was my mom's. She babied it and parked it in the garage for the past ten years and recently she decided to give it to me. I had no idea what a badass it is. Any recommendations on how to tweak it a little and suspension mods, please let me know.
Congrats!
They will never be great on the road but some lowering and some stiffness doesnt hurt.
So swap out the suspension for something like Koni with Eibach springs or likewise.
Find wider wheels and look over the bushings in the chassies.
sånt här gör mig glad i kropp och själ haha!
Fellow SAAB owner and tuner here, loving the video bro and way to kick ass. How did you mount that steering wheel? What company makes a spline to mount an aftermarket wheel on? I can't find anything out there lol. Are their any aftermarket steering wheel that will fit our factory set up?
RoyalRegistry thanks.
I bought this one from SC Styling. its a Swedish company but im sure they can ship worldwide
I have a 9-3 and i love it.
5:25 i hate the R35 GTR with such a passion. Its like the highschool jock of performance cars, jealous of it, and beating one thats been modified is so difficult. But that moment when that saab passed that R35, that scratched an itch ive had for a long time.

Vad kul :)
for some reason my Saab is not pulling out like you used to be playing chess as you may know what that could be
wow beating that GTR was sick! you,re power to weight ratio is what gets them.
What turbo you use?
