    *Seems like a good solar **Generater.Systems** . I have not had to put it to the test yet in a situation without power but it has seemed to operate fine so far.*

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  Рік тому

      I am assuming that you mean, how many years will this last? Solar generator is kind of a dumb name for these devices anyway. They do not generate anything, they take in electricity from the sun. The charge controller inside the unit does that work for you.
      Now to your question. These lithium units are rated at the number of full cycles they can do. I believe my Delta 1300 is rated at something like 800 full cycles. What does that mean? It means that for example, 800 days in a row I would run it from 100% down to zero. Think about how many days months and years that is. That means you could run it from 1% to zero every day and then charge it fully back up. Once you hit that number, the battery is not worthless. It only drops down to 80% of the original full amount. So for the average user, that means these units will last for years and years. We use ours camping, but do we camp every day? No. Do I run it down every time I use it down to zero, no. I quite often run mine down to maybe 50%, and then I recharge it. Now we doubled the number of cycles I’m going to get. And many of these units are rated to over 3000 full cycles and that would mean a decade or more abuse for most people. I hope that helps.

    I love my Eco Flow Delta. A reminder to all, that limiting of cycles to approx. 800 is if you recharged via AC all 800 times. Using solar or vehicle 12vdc outlet does not count against the life cycles. So, it will last much longer than that for most people!

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  3 роки тому +1

      Not to mention that most never run it down to 0% as well. And even then, the battery does not stop working. It would still have a lot juice for a very long time.

      What you need to consider is what is the largest device you want to run. The Delta inverter is larger and can run a lot - I have run a microwave, coffee pot and even a 5000BTU AC for 6-7 hours. I am now doing a Ford Transit van conversion and Ecoflow is one of my corporate partners and they have sent me now 2 Deltas, a River Max and a River Pro with the extra battery for my van build. Very. Fortunate. A small unit is quite handy for portability. Happy shopping.

  • @pastrbuzz1

    I'm a complete newbie, so please forgive the question if its a simple one! How did you connect your air conditioner to the unit? Can you plug your trailer power directly into it? Can you run this and your regular battery connected to the trailer at the same time? Great video!!

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  3 роки тому

      The Runaway in this video does not have a "house" battery like the typical RV - no battery at all. It is wired for shore power (campground outlet). For testing purposes, I plugged the 5,000 BTU AC in the camper directly into one of the Delta 1300 outlets. I ran it for about 6.5 hours and it was cold in there.
      However . . . at the end, it was dead. The great thing about the Ecoflow Delta (and the River 600 Max and River 600 Pro), is that they can recharge from 0% to 100% in less than two hours which is remarkable. Does that help?

    • @pastrbuzz1
      @pastrbuzz1 3 роки тому

      @@charlesmoman very helpful, thanks! So in real-life use, I can't really connect this battery to my camper as if it is "shore power" and use it for Air conditioning or anything of a high draw, because it only has 15 amp plugs--- am I understanding that correctly? to use the A/C I'd need to plug it directly into the 15 amp plug on this as a stand alone connection? Thanks again for your help!

      @@pastrbuzz1 Check this video in my van series about wiring - there are others too. ua-cam.com/video/NhBylzFTdDQ/v-deo.html
      I have wired my van for my 12v lights and little panels that have usb and 12v port and switches. They are all run to a simple fuse block and I will hook a Delta to the fuse block via the cigarette port and a cable I got from Amazon. If I am on shore power at a campground, I have a 30 amp inlet that feed power to three ac outlets I installed in the van. If I do not have shore power, then I can plug the AC cords into the Delta. I will not be running an AC in the van. If you have a standard RV with a big AC on the roof, none of this will work because they require so much power. I could add a simple 5000 BTU house AC in my van, but we won't. We have a MaxxAir fan and a MaxxAir passive vent to pull air through. Have then in my little mini camper and they work great.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  3 роки тому

      No. It can be done, but it really is best to not let lithiums run below 20% remaining. I rarely run mine down much post 505 before recharging and the Ecoflow units recharge so crazy fast anyway. As far as the solar panels, I do not think it hurts to leave them hooked up.

    great review Mr Charles can I use the Eco Flow Delta PRO with offshore power for my RV 30 amp? How long can I offshore without recharging? And how do I charge with this during winter if my RV plu is exterior? thanks im a newbie and want to buy the Delta pro to live offgrid during frigid Northern WI winters

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  2 роки тому

      You can plug the Delta Pro into an RV, but I really can’t answer any of the questions you have. It all depends on what you’re trying to run. If you’re hoping you can run your RV as if it’s plugged into normal shore power, I think you’ll be very disappointed . Especially if you are trying to use any kind of electric heater, it will drain the delta pro so quickly and then you have the problem of recharging. And honestly to recharge it you need to have shore power or a gas generator. It is so huge in power, it will take a LOT of direct sun and lots of solar panels to effectively recharge it fast enough for you. I’m not sure any solar generator is the answer to surviving in in any situation that is going to be cold for extended periods of time. For heat you would really need to use some kind of diesel heater or something like that and you have to be careful with not killing yourself with carbon monoxide. Good luck on your search. There are just too many variables in your questions for me to possibly answer, but I wish I could. Be safe.

    So how much cycles if you charge only thru solar? I am confused now ,, and can you charge thru solar and use it at the same time I mean discharge same time

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  3 роки тому

      It has pass through charging - so I assume it would do the same when on solar. I personally absolutely never think about cycles with these lithiums. Most people will not be running them to zero every day and then recharging to 100%,. So for the average user, just about any brand will run just fine for years and years. When they do hit the stated cycles, then still will continue to run but at only 80% of the original capacity. Mt Ecoflow units will outlive me. : )

    Thanks for the non-overly tech review. I had decided on this unit and the only thing holding me back were reviews that said that fan noise was too loud. Did you experience that ? Inside the RV ? Is the fan on during both DC and AC operation ? While charging ? Thanks again.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  3 роки тому

      When I plug it into a house outlet, it is pulling in a LOT of juice because of their Xtreme technology and the fan comes on.I personally do not think it is all the loud. Some like to find "something" to complain about. When you use an AC outlet, the fan might come on, but not as loud as when recharging. I think it serves as nice white noise! : ) I now have 2 Deltas, one River 600 Max and they just sent me the not yet released River 600 Pro with the River 600 Pro extra battery. It will come out in March they tell me. I will post a quick look review today or tomorrow. My van build power system is built around the Ecoflow units. Thanks for watching. I have two Delta’s. Has anyone figured out how to charge their Delta off of the 12 V cigarette lighter port in your car? I’m asking because the male 12 V plug that came with the Delta has melted twice in the cigarette lighter port in my 2006 Toyota sienna.

    • @charlesmoman
      @charlesmoman  2 роки тому +1

      The problem is with the plug itself. Almost all of those kind of plugs, not just the eco-flow ones, seem to not be able to stay in tightly. That is the issue. I’ve wired a cable from my battery with a wire that ends with an XT 60 connector to charge a Delta. The new Ecoflo units have an app and you can slow down the charging speed. So it can be problematic to charge a Delta 1300 with the car travel plug because it is pulling so much juice. Almost 100% of the time, I charge mine with a wall outlet and top it off with some solar now and then.

They will be the exclusive lithium power source on my build and will be featured in my van build series here on this channel and their logo will be on the back of my Transit. I have other corporate partners too.

      Charles Moman Sounds cool. I assume it’s a simple cable to run 2 of these in parallel, for double the power?

      @@ranplan At the moment I am not sure - check on Hobotech's review - I will check back too but I am in heavy film editing at the moment.

      I hear you, but seriously, people are driving past me at 70-80 mph. I can’t put a sermonette on the back and expect them to remember. I know you mean well, but you understand what I saying. I now have that on our newly-converted Ford Transit campervan as well. And on the sides, I have a large compass rose that says - as far as the east is from the west - and scripture reference. That mainly will get rid at campgrounds, parking lots, Walmarts, and rest areas. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments from many people about that particular scripture reference as well. Take care.
