idk why but as i started reading this i for some reason thought you were reminding him to run piping for a heated driveway even if he doesnt set it all up right away(im extremely tired lol) and i was like oh yeah for sure. heated driveway is a requirement for living on a hill like that. then i actually processed what you said and thought "wait why is no one suggesting a heated driveway? you gotta do it, it really isnt as expensive as it sounds. and then i remembered that he is in texas....nvm lol. im from colorado....it is a bit different here lol
Matt! Pro tip from a subsurface investigator. Anything you burry that you don't want hit place a tracer wire. You will thank yourself later if you ever have to dig up a pipe or dig for any other reason. Any basic utility locator will be able to find it. Otherwise you would need a expericned GPR operator to identify them.
@@OffTheRanch Toss a good roll bar in the Bronco, it really needs it. Nothing huge or intrusive, just a simple and safe hoop in case it rolls over on that fiberglass rooftop.
We had a similar issue with our 48 in stove and cabinet. What we ended up doing was filling the back space of the stove with a matching granite. It not only looked aesthetically pleasing but has also helped the backsplash not getting stained or dirty. Remember these 48 in stoves produce a lot of BTU and having that gap in the back really helps to circulate the heat out of the exhaust vent on the stove to your custom hood vent as well.
Lord I loathe moving but after you are done it feels so good! Knowing y'all you should probably just pave the middle as well. Just pave the entire front area. That way when you have all the toys at you have plenty of room.
I really only started watching this channel because of the abandoned mansion renovation. Now I'm watching the other videos much more regularly, but I'm not that interested in most of the car stuff. Was a long-time Demolition Ranch fan.
He's got to be pushing between $1 million and $2 million right now, if you also include land purchase. I'm sure everything combined is more than $1 million or will be once he finishes it.

As a native plant specialist for the edwards plateau, a guild of trees would be pretty. Elm or oak (species are numerous) in the middle w texas persimmon, mountain laurel, or other options. Definitely go native for that ecoregion because few things like growing on limestone rock w very little dirt like they have here on the hill.

Matt, you NEED. A water feature in the center circle of the driveway! Imagine a pondless waterfall with large stacked slate spheres (like @ Shaq’s house) and hardy palms all around the waterfall. It could be more sustainable with a rain X-change to capture rainwater to keep the basin filled.

You two have done an amazing job bringing life back to the entire property! With all of the unobstructed sunlight hitting the rooves, solar panels for electricity will be able to make enough power to run the entire house/HVAC/pool pumps and have plenty for battery storage/charging. Are the rooves and drains in the front of the house going to drain into a cistern for irrigation? It's going to take a lot of water to grow grass and anything else up there.

The circular driveway helps with larger vehicles. I would have made sure it's big enough for a 45ft motor home or semi. They need to get up the driveway and go back down without backing up. It's so much easier to have things delivered.

Can't believe it took you this long to learn that there are boy trees and girl trees. And yes, that means that pollen is tree sperm. And you're breathing it. Anyhoo, definitely get Mere's approval on the driveway NOW before it's too late. Also, that whole "falling off a cliff" thing sounds way too real so make sure there's something fairly soft growing out past the play area. If your kids are anything like I was as a kid, one or more IS gonna fall off the edge sooner or later.

Still sad the hump in the middle is gone. That was such a nice feature for the kids to play on. Also not a big fan of fully concrete/asphalt driveways, would go with some nice water permeable pavement.

Tell your countertop guys you need a stove rail. Put a wall ledger on the wall and seam the rail from top to top. Very common issue.

Matt, in the center of your yard you can do green grass, a small flower/rose bush garden with a gondola and swing bench I think it'd look so good.
Make sure you have enough driveway to back into each of your garage bays--with even your largest (or longest) of vehicles.
Not gonna lie I stopped watching the house build for a while now and to come back to it almost done is amazing to see, so satisfying I will definitely ty to keep up now

Anyhoo, definitely get Mere's approval on the driveway NOW before it's too late. Also, that whole "falling off a cliff" thing sounds way too real so make sure there's something fairly soft growing out past the play area. If your kids are anything like I was as a kid, one or more IS gonna fall off the edge sooner or later.

Still sad the hump in the middle is gone. That was such a nice feature for the kids to play on. Also not a big fan of fully concrete/asphalt driveways, would go with some nice water permeable pavement.

They make lights that can be sank into the driveway, along the edges. A couple neighbors did it in their new drives and it rich.
