I would have done flat it seems to lay down better .I would then highlighted it with a glossy strip probably vinyl.
I did think about flat
"Hit it again!" Hans Gruber, from Die Hard.
😅😁😜👍
As the saying goes, usually applied to people, (Good from far, but far from good) lol, I'll buy that for a dollar.looks alot better than it did tho.
👍
Is this the model with speakers in headrests?
No unfortunately, those were pretty cool
If it doesn't come out, you could always paint it orange.
😂😂👍👍
Now I'm thirsty
After you block it spray some grey then clear the whole thing, it will last a lot longer! Looks good though
Grey then clear?
@@MotoCheez yeah just fix the silver/ gray on the bottom then spray some clear and you'll have a show car!
@eiknarf9993 ahh. Ok
Not too bad Cheesy
Looking forward to see how it stands out. Definitely an interesting project
I'm digging the Fiero content. Sucks the paint laid like it did. I've never personally used the turbo cans, but I just read in a Grassroots Motorsports forum where a few people had mentioned that the turbo cans is gloss black seem to lay a textured finish. One person said it resembled "Drywall texture".
In the same forum someone mentioned that the Rust-o custom spray 5 tip nozzles interchange with the turbos for more control over the pattern but I'm not really sure that it would help much.
I bet if the tip could have been changed to a little finer spray pattern it would have been better. Yes it goes down so fast and volume it does look like its textured
Going clear it too?
No, thought about it though
You’re going for the full KARR look on this one! Just need an amber light bar and you’re good!
😁👍👍
Hey mr.motocheez have you had any issue on your china bikes like last gear is limiting topspeed and like not pulling power anymore?
Only when I had carb issues
Not too bad for some rattle cans, can't be too picky with enamel paint. Anything can be painted as long as it's prepped properly. :)
Thanks. True!
For fresh runs in paint take some painters tape & wrap it around your hand with the sticky side facing out and slap the run with the tape then respray the area again! If you get a run in clear you let it dry and take a razor blade thats had its edge knocked down with some 200 grit sandpaper and you lightly drag the blade down the clear run until its flat then buff it out with some 3M Finesee It II on a waffle pad.
Thanks! I've heard of that but I didn't think of it at the time

If you spray it again I would recommend getting better replacmint tips your local paint shop should have them. It makes a big difference. The hood 90 percent of the time does that because it was opened then closed oil deposit in the air get on the hood that's what cause it. At least that's what they tell you when you go to auto motive painting school. If you water sand it really good can paint can come out pertty good. Iv had people ask me if I sprayed it with a paint gun and it was from a can. Lots of sanding. 💯👍✌️
Someone else mentioned that, I wish I knew before I painted. Lol
Turned out pretty good 👍 I'm assuming the moisture in the air cause that orange peel although it's a pretty nice job 😁
I think so as well, it should buff out and look decent by the time I'm done just more work that's all
Orange peel usually comes from not enough surface prep , what kind of decreased did you use ?
From what I read and painting before it's because of the nozzle not atomizing fine enough. I use those frog wipes or whatever they're called, there was no fisheye or spidering the base was smooth definitely not going to cause the orange peel cuz it was flat
Not bad for a spray can, reminds me of the 80's
Little cut n buff and it will be pro
Dude it looks great! If you hate it too much, I’ll buy it
😁😂👍👍
Orange peel is from the nozzle/tip orfice not being fine enough to properly atomize the paint molecules being laid down. I had an issue with it when i first started cerakoting with a 1.2mm nozzle. Went down to the recommended .8 and peel was gone. Humidity really only effects the curing time. Block, wet sand, and clay bar. Itll be silk after the end. Could turn into a 8inch paint job after all of that.
You should have had it painted you would have been alot happier.
No way, $4000 and up for basic paint job! I'm way happier
Orange skin? Shark skin for reduced air resistance!
😁😅👍👍👍
Lookin' forward to seeing how the block sanding and buffing pans out.
Me too! 😁
Not familiar with turbo cans but a slightly aggressive compound will flatten that finish
Just got the keytag the other day! thanks and car looks nice!
Great, thanks
Did you spray on that any of that two-part clear in a can with the hardener in it?
No. I didn't. I wouldn't have anyway because of all the orange peel, going to have to sand and buff it
Looks pretty good, Cheezy!

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I used a turbo can a few times recently. Not a fan. Cost $30 up here in Canada. It’s the same cost as a small can of paint the exact same brand and color. However, with the rustoleum paint right into my gun, no thinner or reducer, I was able to cover more truck with 1/8 of can than I was with 2 whole turbo cans.
Edit: I did my job outside btw. Yours looks good tho. Nice work.
I did a Jeep with rustoleum in a spray gun and it came out a little better. Yes it does seem to use more paint. I also noticed the fan is not perfect on the turbo cans so it's heavier in some parts of the fan, the lower part actually and you can't spray perpendicular to the roof it will spit and sputter
Yeah it sputters a lot actually if you even tilt it down just a bit. The idea is cool but it’s just not as practical as it looks. You can get a paint gun for less than $20 these days. But in a pinch the turbo can I guess is better than 2 separate spray cans…possibly lol
@BRIDGEBURNERSTV I have all the spray equipment, I just wanted to try the turbo spray cans cuz I see other people using them. Oh well
@@MotoCheez I know you’re pretty geared up. Same here; not as good as you (I’m working in my driveway always) but I tried them for the same reason.
what was the temp and humidity when you painted.
Was 78 degrees, but pretty humid
looks good!
Wrap the mirrors with black vinal wrap 💯👍✌️
I wish I was good at wrapping, I tried it before and failed too many times especially on a curvature that sharp
@@MotoCheez I'm not very good at it either. My brother can do it. He also does hydro diping. I usually have him do it if I need it done.lol💯👍✌️🤭
@@MotoCheez If the mirrors are black plastic you can just sand them down with some fine wet/dry sand paper to give them some tooth and just hit them with a coat of clear that can withstand uv light. It'll make them look like fresh black paint. :)
It's supposed to be flat like the trim and rear louvers...
When id paint things for people when i went to school id use rustoleum paint a gallon was pertty cheap with a harbor fraght gravity feed gun and some reducer. No one could tell by the time i was finished with it. Speachlly if i clear coated it. You could do 2 or 3 cars with a gallon if you sand and clear it. You can get pertty good results. 💯👍✌️
I painted a jeep same way! I used hardener
Wet sand with 1500 then buff it will look better
I'm going to try that in about a week, hopefully it should look a lot better
@@MotoCheez you may want to use 2000 .
I've painted a few car the same way and a little sanding and buffing they look pretty good
@robertgutheridge9672 You're probably right
That is why I wrap a car, or clay bar before you paint, degreaser isn’t the final step before you paint
I did use tack rags I just didn't mention it. I scuffed the whole car down with the Scotch-Brite so it would adhere then wipe it down with a oil remover, then use tack rags
Vinyl wrap might have been better.
The base wasn't good enough for vinyl wrap I would have actually had to paint it for it to stick cuz it was some areas that were completely dry from the Sun. Once I buff it it'll look good
@@MotoCheez
I've seen people use something like a sandable tractor paint which looks kinda decent but needs buffed more often.
@fochdischitt3561 I painted my Jeep with tractor paint and a spray gun It came out okay but yeah it fades fast
Can't beat the price Cheezy, and at least it's all one colour now.

Looks good bro
Thanks, hopefully once it's sanded and buffed it'll look better. I've definitely done better work!
