Those mini humbuckers sound really good. They're crunchy but allow the telecaster to be twangy, open and dynamic unlike some of the more compressed sounding "metal" humbuckers. Even if you didn't fancy playing a telecaster on stage, this would be an excellent studio guitar for any metal musician because it's got so much clarity and cut in a mix.
Teles (even single coils) are surprisingly good for metal. They’re pretty good for bright mids and highs to fill in over a booming bass and kick to help cut through a track. Ola makes it look even more badass!
I play a tele in an jazzmaster body for metal. The bridge pickup is good for medium and high gain stuff. The tele neck pickups have a really distinct sound that I switch on for lighter parts.
I agree! My Tele has singlecoils, and they have enough output to really kick my amp's tube ass 🤣🤣🤣 Is it as saturated as a good humbucker? No, not thát fat, but it's certainly possible! Gives a nice chime to the sound, when combined with another track on a humbucker 😎🤘
I love this Engl Savage sound, what a great amp. Good thing you pulled it out; I find it as one of the best-sounding amps you have along with Recto. (Not Rectal)
Teles are the Goldilocks guitar for me. I haven't heard too many other guitar models that effectively pull off metal, hard rock, blues, jazz, progressive rock, punk, new wave, funk, soul and grunge the way a tele can. They're one of the friendliest of guitars out there, I'll never stop loving the telecaster!
The double pick throw was very cool...I Love the ending song for "will it chug"🤘I've caught myself listening to Ola England music a majority of the time the last 6 months...Dude has killer songs!!!👍
That sounded amazing! I've been mixing some neck single coil rhythm parts on my Strat into stuff I'm coming up with recently - sounds really cool IMO. There's definitely room for metal to look venture beyond a bridge humbucker here and there.
Even if it didn't chug, that's a gorgeous example of a Tele. But, it also sounds great. It's q little gnarly, and the neck pickup is sweet and juicy. Love it.
Awesome! Not a plug: there was a band in Atlanta known for their "collosal wall of sound", called Colossick, that used Tele's. Crushing. Think helmet with groove and tempo
Hi Ola! Thanks for all your will it chug videos. I'm waiting constantly for the next one. About that, I own two budget dist pedals and I'm very happy with, joyo UZI and Dark Flame. You should pass them a will it chug test, I'm pretty sure the next best budget pedal winner is here.
Thanks for the Pantera coverage so cool to see you there man. I’ll admit I was worried at first. Because we see everything now days and Zakk messing up in the first shows but I was guilty of being a prisoner of the moment cause he’s fkn destroying it now and looks like Rockstar doing it. He’s such a sick guitar player. I picked up the guitar because of Zakk and Pantera is the best metal band
the noise is a bad connection of the ground to the bridge, most probably. easy fix , if you already have few tools. first time i done it myself i was terrified, now i would volunteer to do it , for free!!
Back in the 2000s there was a band called Armor for Sleep. Their guitarist used a tele to get some great heavy tones. I love the ones on their album named What To Do When You Are Dead.
Hi Ola, could you make some guitar comparison videos? For example the most expensive versus the cheapest of a certain brand, or the same guitar with the same specifications but built in different countries (see the Jackson JS32 and the Dk3XR, one Chinese and the other Indonesian). Anyway, your vids are always great!
New Guitar September: Gold Foil equipped X body - those would look hella rad on the Ola model. Technically it's black bursted but it's a nice red, for sure.
It is a really good looking guitar... I'd be very interested in hearing your take in the PRS NF 53, not the Myles Kennedy sig, just the regular. I'm quite interested in the black model, as I have nothing quite like that...edit...unless you have already tested it and I missed it...have to check.
With this Engl Amp, everything chugs. You can plug a flute in and it will probably chug. ...well, actually...this would be an interesting "Will it Chug"...
I watched many episodes and there is a major issue with this series: Often the counter is still running while the gear chugs already. I think it should be more precise so I would suggest you recheck all the gear 😄 All jokes aside: Thanx for countless hours of great Entertainment and interesting content. Keep up the great work!
I love my charvel tele. But it has dual fishman open coil hb’s. So it’s gonna chug with little effort. It can get the tele twang, when you want it as well. It’s a Swiss Army knife
Hey ! nice test ! Nice guitare as well, even if it is not a metal type guitare. I have a sugestion for you :-) : will you chug the fender supersonnic amp ? Cheers
Well... it's nice to see it chug. But, please @OlaEnglund mention the guitar tuning and the amplifier setup. Because, if it's tuned low, for sure it will chug. 😊😊😊
Ola, have you done a video yet on just the basics of what constitutes a preferable "metal" guitar? From lower end to high end? As opposed to the Strats, Les Pauls, Teles, etc? I know there's a vast difference between the average Ibanez or Jackson "metal" guitar and a Telecaster. But of course some metal players love Les Pauls or Telecasters or Strat style guitars, as well. I'm a bit bewildered by all that. I have a Les Paul and a Telecaster and either seem to handle high gain stuff pretty well.
Ola can pick a broom and make it chug.
I’d pay to see that x)
@@TomatePasFraiche If people would pay… Ola: I need at least that broom signed and dedicated (😜🤟)
Bro he could pick a booger and make it chug.
It really does seem that way doesn’t it ? 😂
Sweepcore 🧹

I’m currently awaiting a baritone rosewood neck for a telecaster project. A telecaster tuned B to B with noiseless pickups is gonna be so cool haha
I have a tele baritone (A to A) with single coils that handles distortion/fuzz really well
I think a good example of this is Baroness. It's more stoner/prog rock than metal, but they use teles and jazzmasters
I love this Engl Savage sound, what a great amp.
Good thing you pulled it out; I find it as one of the best-sounding amps you have along with Recto. (Not Rectal)
That thing had a really unique chug sound. I liked it.
Yes they are I love them hooked up to a metal core pedal they are such a versatile guitar
Ah yes, the Mesa Boogie Rectum Frier.
@@LeDechaine Dual Rectal - doesn't make me comfortable either.
I'm pretty sure nobody would have ever thought to plug a gold foil tele into an Engl.
Teles are the Goldilocks guitar for me. Haven't been on the Internet for a while, and it's great to just listen to Ola again! 🤘🤘
You definitely made it chug sounds amazing Getcha pull brother 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
NO U GET U A PULL IT AINT NO GODAMN CANDY BOYA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

That's a fantastic looking guitar
That’s a sick looking and great sounding guitar
That sounded amazing! I've been mixing some neck single coil rhythm parts on my Strat into stuff I'm coming up with recently - sounds really cool IMO. There's definitely room for metal to look venture beyond a bridge humbucker here and there.
"You heard it here first." - Ola Englund 😂😂💀 that savage 60 sounds so good in every video I've seen it in on your channel.
In 30 years of playing guitar I have never bounced and caught a plec, I'm envious! 😄
They usually run away with those lost socks. Where do they go?
That thing sounds savage. And delightfully country clean.
Even if it didn't chug, that's a gorgeous example of a Tele. But, it also sounds great. It's q little gnarly, and the neck pickup is sweet and juicy. Love it.

I was trying to get this guitar and wasn’t sure! Thanks Ola!!

This might be your best one yet!
Great tone. Nice bite and clarity. Something slightly different for metal, which nowadays is mostly mud.
looked like you had a lot of fun with that one, ideas coming out left right n center there 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I love hearing Ola play the old school The Haunted riffs. The Bullet Hole callback was rad
Nice sound apart from it needs some non conductive paint inside or a tinfoil lining near the pots etc to stop the noise
That's one of the best paintjobs ever from Fender.

bad ass vid thanks Ola as someone who loves Fender Guitars its awsome to see a master chugger review one. Ons day im gonna be able to get one

3:15 is the sound my partner hears in her head when I start talking about guitars XD
I'm so pumped for this review!!! I asked him to review this guitar 🎸!!!!
Ola needs to do more funk. A Funk Friday.
4:50 Man has reflexes 🤣🤣🤣
That neck pickup is great.
Just subscribed. I like your open approach to the gear you review. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏
That noise and microphonic feedback (when you knock its body) wow.
I like the pickups, they remind me of the reflectors in my bike as a kid.
Dang... some super clean-ass chugs right there!
I dig it.
Ola with a new sub genre of metal.
CHUGFUNK
that Engl rules really like what Vomitory is doing with your guitars cheers
Tele is good I tryed one it's a must have for 60's pub rock or punk
that neck pick up sounded pretty good.
That is a really good sounding guitar. Maybe not for chug but if I was in a classic rock cover band that would be great.
{not grounded well} ~ however, mabey there is a polarity switch in/on that sweet amp...🤔 thanx Ola
Back in the 2000s there was a band called Armor for Sleep. Their guitarist used a tele to get some great heavy tones. I love the ones on their album named What To Do When You Are Dead.
3:07 Ola discovers musik
Damn, that guitar looks a lot better than I thought it would. I kinda want one lol
Holyshit that is a sweet sounding tele! i love the sound of gold foils! hope it comes in some cool colors!
That "ground"song was the shisnit 🤘
Rock and roll baby 👍
That's really cool U pulled out Tele on this. 👍
to be fair i think that amp could make a banjo chuck haha, good playing as always
Great sounding guitar and great playing as usual !
Thanks Ola, now i have to buy this Monster 🤟🤟🤟❤❤❤
the guitar wood sounds so good
Sounds good, but I think the Fender American Telecaster Ultra chugged better
yea

These foils are good for hot rod hillbilly rockabilly, glad you're having fun!
How about a series called "can it do what it's supposed to do?"
That is a great sounding Telecaster. .Im sold
.lol.
Engl Savage, you know the way to this boys heart.
I Just can hear that he was on the list. 😊
New Guitar September: Gold Foil equipped X body - those would look hella rad on the Ola model.
Technically it's black bursted but it's a nice red, for sure.
What happened to the "chugometer"?
what a beautiful classy guitar
That Tele sounds good - it has a nice thick sound with some of the "twang" still present
It is a really good looking guitar... I'd be very interested in hearing your take in the PRS NF 53, not the Myles Kennedy sig, just the regular. I'm quite interested in the black model, as I have nothing quite like that...edit...unless you have already tested it and I missed it...have to check.
I stuck Richie Kotzen's favourite - the Chopper T, in my Tele and it's pretty chuggy. Teles are awesome dude!
The first three Raven records were recorded with a single coil Telecaster. Teles do Metal really well.
For people who feel sad, they deserve a (c)hug! 😢
That thing had a really unique chug sound. I liked it.
Sounds awesome! I believe a sitar would chug on a savage though. Such a brutal amp especially in your hands.
damn this tele sounds good
With this Engl Amp, everything chugs. You can plug a flute in and it will probably chug.
...well, actually...this would be an interesting "Will it Chug"...
I fully agree your opinion. Every guitar can CHUG with ENGL amps..
I suggest a video on the Boss Digital Metalizer in this series since I haven’t yet found a video of this pedal used in a metal context
how about your Savage rig as NAM? Pleeease!
I watched many episodes and there is a major issue with this series: Often the counter is still running while the gear chugs already. I think it should be more precise so I would suggest you recheck all the gear 😄

Sounds god damn amazing, it totally chrushes with a thunderous spank. It really fits with that amp.
That thing is absolutely gorgeous. Good lawd
You can plug a Hello Kitty or Pokemon' guitar in to the Engl and it would chug. But Dang Funky Ola.. :)
what happened with the chug-meter?
Ded
5:20 - The first 2 Infectious Grooves albums are great examples of this.
That neck pickup sounds great
Hi Ola! Could you have the Empress Zoia on Will It Chug? That would be crazy
That one riff @2:29 is the riff I always do myself on Teles. 😂
Those lows are fukn gut wrenching from the Engl … monstrous
I don't think that was the type of music Fender intended for that guitar but hey, it works 🤘

The quality content and Swedish accent is strong with this one. Holy f*ck!
Good Day Ola !
Any pickup with enough gain is going to chug. Lower output pickups actually sound better with high gain.
Keep rocking and never stop making us 'cugh' with laughter!"
Honestly your best tone ever 😂 you usually sound like you play with as little distortion as possible like metal clanking against another dry sounding.
Hey, your intro cartoon dude. Is that Ozzy Osbourne singing at his Speak of the Devil live album thing?
3:07 Dude, you’ve gotta include this as an outro or a hidden track for the next chug project😂
Tele’s do it all. Leo hit a home run on the first try.
Chugging is actually very normal way of communicating now.
lolol I love it
Positive Ola, great Guitar, super Amp....
Didn't expect to hear a chili peppers riff on this channel! that guitar sounds phenomenal
Is that what he played in the neck pu? What's the song?
@@JosephGallagher shallow be thy game :)
Hmmm.... Did the Charvel move to Fender suppliers have any impact on how the big company does necks on its legacy models? just wondering...
