This channel is on fire! To the moon and beyond!
    Suggestions:
    - Use a fan when soldering, the smokey is bad for lungey
    - Twist the wires together before soldering, makes it a lot easier and more durable
    - Try making the main body resemble that of a Remington 700, I think the barrel is just the right length!
    - Carve an extra piece for a cheek rest
    - Try your hands at making a traditional trigger, for example glue two more pieces of wood onto a trigger area, and build the trigger assembly inbetween. I believe you can use a microswitch too for saving space!
    - Stay awesome! :)

There are these things called solder seal wire connectors that you put the 2 wires in and use a lighter. It also provides insulation and makes soldering especially small wires much easier.

I knew pretty early on that you'd upgrade the valve. However, I think it would be fun taking apart the rocket's valve to see how it works then making your own custom dump valve based on the rocket's valve. That way you are being true to the rocket by using its mechanism, albeit remade for more power. Edit: But do what you want. I'm just obsessed with triggers, valves, and mechanisms in general.

If you need 12v and decent amperage, I'd highly recommend airsoft batteries. Fully charged, "9.6v" NIMHs actually give 12v, and I doubt this kind of purpose would ever drain them.
I would still check with a more electrically inclined person to be sure about safety though- if it's just a coil in there that consistently resists, then it should be fine. But I'd still put a fuse in the circuit to be safe.

  • @Codename-B
    @Codename-B Рік тому +1

If the release is before the "tank" the air is only being compressed and stored inside the line that goes from the pump to the release. I made a Extremely powerfull one by using a used mini fire extinguisher as a tank with a bike air valve to use it as an air tank. from there a line to the release valve and another line to the barrel. The thing is an ABSOLUTE BEAST. But bear in mind that there is a threshold between max usable power and the point where darts are completely destroyed. This can be pushed way further by using rival rounds though.

      Tips if you do:
-DO NOT UNDERCHARGE OR OVERCHARGE : Low voltage protection and the correct charger (balance charger) as well as charging bags (Hobbygrade 3S lipos are 11.1V nominal and 12.6V peak and can be had in a protective plastic outer case)
-Do not reverse polarity/short circuit : They can dump all their power at once
-DO NOT PUNCTURE: Goes for any batttery
-Keep away from excessive cold (sub freezing) and heat (55C and up 130F): Goes for most batteries really
-If battery swells "Forbidden capri sun" "spicey pillow" Dispose properly immidiately : Hobbyshops often have battery return options as do your local recycling center. You dont want to have your trash on fire
