Perfectly stated. I used to take apart my nerf guns and would either loose parts, forget how to put them back together, or simply break something 😂. I love watching this guy do what me as a child dreamed of. Can’t wait for more videos!

I definitely chuckled at that part, I'm honestly coming for the unscrew bits and staying for the nerf mods at this point.
Yes! I thought it would be ages before we saw another upload, but you had content lined up for us! Love the nerf projects, I used to do research on modifications, early UA-cam days but never performed any myself. There was a double barrel "Buzz-Bee" nerf gun I thought would be amazing if it shot more accurately. The darts were loaded into plastic "shells." Very cool double barrel design. From old models to new, so many design tweaks are possible!

@@jumanjithemusical I presume you are talking about the Buzz Bee walking dead shotgun style blaster? I own one of those myself
That one has a spring in the barrel, which pushes against a part of the shell and is locked into the barrel by some plastic bits at the back of the shell and closing the blaster releases those catches and when you open it, the shell ejects.
@@thebfiaid957 yes! It sounds like they are still manufacturing it, I had it many years ago, around 2009 or so later? I hope it's improved in a good way!
Always love seeing up and coming DIYtubers, these beginnings are very reminiscent of the beginnings of several large channels in the UA-cam DIY scene. Even if it's just fun projects like this, the content is super enjoyable and I can't wait to see more!

That was a novel solution for the prime length issue! I would've ended up trimming the spring a coil or two and probably ruin the squared ends forever haha
Same, I would've broke out the dremel and took some coils off lol.
The re-enactment of you taking out the old spring and putting a new one in to fire small blue balls out of a long, hard plastic tube was truly inspiring 🗿

Maybe you could make it shoot 50cal foam balls! They are smaller than rival rounds so I think you can fit more in the blaster without having to use a more powerful spring

You should see if you can print off a barrel that holds those "mini" rival balls and have them closer together, as well as a new rotater that rotates it less for every prime so you can shoot three shots and have more shots (if that makes sence) very cool idea with the stronger spring! It looks like it adds a good bit of fps.
they sell balls the same diameter as elite darts which i might try in the future…

This technique is called "shotgun loading" and you can do it with some stock nerf blasters! I've been out of the nerf sphere for a while so it's hard for me to think of any examples off of the top of my head, but still.
I saw your other nerf modding video too and I'm a big fan! I like how you (seemingly?) don't have much experience with nerf modding, nor do you seem influenced by what people are already doing/have already done. It's very fresh and entertaining ^^
i’ve been modding since high school but the scene was much different back then 😅 i feel like a vintage modder in some ways
@@mattie_y I guess that explains the impression I was under. Back in the day people didn't have much to go off of and so there was alot of experimentation and everything and I think you have that energy with this stuff. Like it's the wild west again! XD
Usually what you do is cock it once, then often there's a button you can press that is meant for clearing out jams but basically just lets you cock agajn

You've only got two videos and I'm already hooked, the fact you got the blaster to open up by talking about it's feelings made me laugh so hard when the shell clacked open that I choked on my soda. If you made those barrels brass or just drilled them out a little I'm sure you could get 3 to fire. A rival ball in a mega barrel is a pretty tight fit.

Legends say that the camera still isnt broken to this day
so many nerf blaster mods couldnt work without the fake barrels and that is one of the few things that i thank nerf for recently.

I remember watching vamp somethin YEARS ago, when rival first came out. He complained of how expensive they were and looked for chinese knockoffs, found some for cheap that worked great BUT were too small in diameter to make a good seal with the rival blasters or run reliably through flywheels. It might be worth it to order some chinese knockoffs and see if they work better in this niche application!

That reenactment was amazing!
Drilling out the cylinder bores a bit should help. Measure the ball diameter and get a drill bit just slightly smaller. Wet sand to hone the bores smooth and it may even shoot four balls. Be sweet to hydrodip it too.

dude I love when you do these you should make a custom nerf bullet and when it shoots, the bullets rip up and there's a bunch of foam balls and you could put the bullets back together.
