Will it really absorb light out of nowhere? I thought the effect of it was just like a black gas. Absorbing the light, via... light. I mean, unless you mean they emit anti-matter photons, which won't really make sense (it'd release energy on contact with photons 100 times more efficiently than nuclear fusion, even though nuclear fusion isn't a thing for photons). So uh, my idea is that if that room had 0 light, and then you added anti light, the room wouldn't be -10, but rather subtract 10 when light comes. Also, since light is a wave, could anti light just be light but like, cosine? So light * anti light = 1. So it just emits light, but exactly at spots where normal light is, and it has cosine function to those specific light waves. And they cancel each other out. So it looks like it makes darkness. Though, gaster's entry told that photon readings are negatives, but could it mean photon readings in relation to past? Like there was 100 light, and then 90 light, so the readings are that photons went less, which could mean negative 10.

Also, I know, the anihilation makes ton of energy, but I ignored that in my thought experiment. My main point was that it is mathematically possible to have negative amount of anything, including light and it would work, and it even just so happens that we have a perfect real life example of that.

Jaru, I have a very important theory bouncing in my head and I need to tell someone about it. So my theory is that the underground in undertale is actually a dark fountain, It explains why in undertale the monsters do magic and how seven human “magicians” could trap all of monster kind underground, They just created a dark fountain and threw all monster kind inside. So you might be asking why aren’t there any darkners in undertale, I think the most probable answer is that the cave the humans made a dark fountain in was completely empty aside from a calendar with the four seasons on it explaining how the underground has four main locations for the four main seasons as highlighted by the scramble in snowdin. It also explain how gaster reached the depths, he made a dark fountain inside a dark fountain!!!!!. Dark darker yet darker indeed. So in conclusion this theory solves 80% of undertales mysterys and I wish you think about it there are still things that I didn’t include in this but please tell me what do you think about this theory.
My theory is the letters in Deltarune are more than just an anagram of Undertale. 1. D. To show you what I mean, look where the D in Undertale is. It's at the middle of the first half of Undertale. Now let's look where the middle of the fist half of Undertale actually is. It's somewhere in Snowdin! Where is D in Deltarune? The first part, which is the Light World. And the light world looks like Snowdin Town. 2. E. Where is E in Undertale? There's two E's, and I don't know which one it is. If it's the first one, that'd be right after D, or at the start of Waterfall. And in Waterfall there's the houses of Napstablook and Mettaton, which look like the houses in Castle Town. So there's a case there. If it's the second one, it'd be at New Home to Omega Flowey. I don't see how those are like Castle Town. 3. L The Chapter 1 dark world is like the CORE. The core had its pieces rearranged, like how you can (probably) rearrange the pieces that make up the Dark Worlds and change it. The core converts thermal energy into magic like how the cards turn into magical creatures. What is the thermal energy representing? The cards? This one is pretty shaky. 4. T Chapter 2 is like Hotland. Cyber World is made of electricity, which makes things hot sometimes.

Kind of unrelated but it's interesting how 4th wall breaks in Deltarune are kind of taken literally. For example if you skip the legend Lancer says "i'm the tear shaped head boy from the legend"(paraphrasing). In most games dudes would think "haha funny joke" but because it's deltarune people think "Lancer must canonically know about the visuals of the legend."

I think that the reason birdly’s injuries last outside of the darkworld is because they were inflicted by another lightener, and not by a darkner (at least in snowgrave). Lightners are implied to be stronger, and thus the damage caused by them may be more permanent or “real”.

wrt waffling at 1:37:30, it is stated in the queen's mansion puzzle that they are "darkbulbs" - that is, emitting darkness (and therefore negative photons) to create shadow and color. by that logic, the transformation of color in the dark world could be in reference to the fact that different materials reflect different wavelengths of light differently - in this particular instance, instead of emitting their ordinary visible-spectrum light from stimulation by positive photons, since there aren't any positive photons to make those colors be emitted, these negative photons (referencing entry 17) instead trigger a different emissive response by nature of being negative. a bit like how if you look at flowers in the visible spectrum, they often appear homogenous and beautiful - however, looking at them in the ultraviolet spectrum reveals "invisible" patterns and runways that are visible to their pollinators. this would just be the... negative light spectrum, if we make the assertion that a negative photon behaves otherwise-identically to photons, just with some inverted properties due to the "negative" part of entry 17. this wouldn't account for the physical outfit changes, but it would account for the differences in kris's skintone, for example. there are many things we don't know about what a negative photon would even *do*, and real-world physics doesn't exactly study the nature of magic, so we don't have a lot of precedent to rest on. asserting that a negative photon only behaves like a photon but with a negative wavelength (since photons are already (electromagnetically speaking) negatively charged) can't explain why there are parts of kris's outfit that appear/disappear, but perhaps part of the negative photon idea is that is able to reflect off of something that is otherwise-invisible to positive photons (regardless of wavelength), and unlike normal photons, are able to make something real by reflecting off it. this would assert that everyone has an innate "dark outfit", that is made real by being shown in the "light" of negative photons (a property normal photons, to be clear, do not have), and likewise, the normal outfit we see in the overworld is made invisible and unreal in the same way the dark outfit is normally. in this way, despite the dark being a place of whimsy, dreams, and unreality, it would mean that despite it all, negative photons/darkness do still have the ability to shed light (pun intended) on the true nature of things - kris truly is wearing that outfit and has blue skin, but it is not something that is apparent in the harsh reality of daylight and social masks. in that same way, objects that become darkners are truly those darkners, and shedding negative light on them reveals the truth through unreality.
Let's goooooo, more Jaru playthroughs! Did anyone else notice that the Hacker did the brackets JUST like Spamton? Nobody seems to have mentioned it yet... And what did the spears of the vivovirokuns turn into when spared? I'm sad Jaru didn't mention the detail, and I hoped they would. (If I find anything else worth mentioning, I'll edit the comment to add it) Also, I think it'd be wise to remember that Toby is just a human. Some things could just be literally an "I forgor" moment. So, if something doesn't make sense, it's possible there's lore, but also possible it's just an oversight. Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a snowgrave playthrough. Even though you've talked a lot about the big stuff, there's still small details you can find that may not be caught by most people. Plus, the harder Spamton fight is always fun
Spamton aside, Snowgrave route features a lot of interesting little bits of changes and otherwise-unseen details. It also has one of the most fascinating mysteries in the game, in terms of what exactly happened between Susie and Noelle in that route.

something i want to add before we get too far into spamton; i just started reading a book on how to program, and they define a hyperlink as "A type of reference (a link) between two or more locations on *the same site*. Usually, a hyperlink will open either a new window or new tab in a web browser that reads the referenced text or image at that locations" - Coding for absolute beginners and cybersecurity Through this reading, maybe hyperlink blocked means spamton is trying to access something already in the cyberworld, or the reality of deltarune. "new window or new tab" might mean he wants to take that something and bring it to a new world, or new reality.
Theory dump, deltarune is a prequal to undertale, and the main antagonist is w.d gaster, as he was experimenting with dark world's in undertale, he shattered across time and space, who's knows if some of those are good or not, but a part of him ends up in an alternate universe (deltarune) and he keeps experimenting eventually creating the roaring and breaking that reality or that universe that he's in, and that's when sans and papyrus end up in undertale because sans took them to an alternate universe, and that's how sans knows everything a human would know, and the machine in his basement is actually a time machine and he's trying to go back in time to secretly stop gaster or something, this is just a crazy idea i just thought of so towards the end it started unraveling, but that's the theory!

Since King and Queen were both affected by exposure to the dark fountain would that suggest that Chris and Susie would be as well upon entering the dark world? I mean we do know that Chris is a depressed child so what if him going blue in the dark world is to emphasize that fact? This would go along with Susie as well with the fact that she wears clothes that are edgy to further emphasize her nature as well? Thoughts?

I think the spinning statues at the start may reference Mettaton EX/NEO. Mettaton EX/NEO and Queen's body look extremely similar, so the reference might be a hint/easter egg for the secret boss meant to pass off as statues of Queen. The main reason I say this is because the head of the statues are very clearly upside-down yellow hearts, aka what the soul looks like during the Mettaton EX battle. It makes me wonder if we'll have other thematic hints for the secret bosses in future chapters. If there IS a theme to the secret bosses, I would guess that they represent the Undertale neutral route bosses but in reverse. Jevil has a royalty theme and the soul is red like in Asgore's battle on top of Asgore using a variety of attack types other bosses have used, aka Asgore could do anything AND acting couldn't progress either fight. Meanwhile, Spamton turns your heart yellow and makes it shoot bullets like in the Mettaton fight. If I'm correct about this, we should have a purple soul for the secret boss battle in chapter 3. (or if there is no particular order but still a theme, it could be blue or green... or Toby Fox might have made new soul modes for the cyan and orange souls, or even use the stop and move mechanic for those souls).

at 2:43:10 about you talk about how in both chapters no matter what your choices don't matter. Don't you have to assume that the time loop thing is true for this to be the case? Depending on your choices in chapter 2 Berdly literally dies. Even if time resets you still gaslight Noelle into killing someone. I can't see "your choices don't matter" being the main theme of this game especially if we end up "weirding" other characters in other routes in future chapters. Personally I think the theme of this game is "do you have the guts to make difficult decisions to save the world". (Tin foil hat time) I think to defeat the angel's heaven you will have to weird up three characters, Noelle being one of them. These three would be the monster, human and darkner from the prophecy. Weirding them up would make them strong/powerful enough to defeat the angel. Once there is a save file with the almost completed weird route for each three characters in the game you would unlock the "one single ending" that Deltarune supposedly has. Defeating the angel is the one ending, and in all other cases the world resets so it's not really "an ending". In this case (read: my headcannon) the decision of killing Berdly would end up being permanent and would not be reset.

Jaru, I have a very important theory bouncing in my head and I need to tell someone about it.
So my theory is that the underground in undertale is actually a dark fountain,
It explains why in undertale the monsters do magic and how seven human “magicians” could trap all of monster kind underground,
They just created a dark fountain and threw all monster kind inside.
So you might be asking why aren’t there any darkners in undertale, I think the most probable answer is that the cave the humans made a dark fountain in was completely empty aside from a calendar with the four seasons on it explaining how the underground has four main locations for the four main seasons as highlighted by the scramble in snowdin. It also explain how gaster reached the depths,
he made a dark fountain inside a dark fountain!!!!!. Dark darker yet darker indeed. So in conclusion this theory solves 80% of undertales mysterys and I wish you think about it there are still things that I didn’t include in this but please tell me what do you think about this theory.

My theory is the letters in Deltarune are more than just an anagram of Undertale.

To show you what I mean, look where the D in Undertale is. It's at the middle of the first half of Undertale.
Now let's look where the middle of the fist half of Undertale actually is. It's somewhere in Snowdin!
Where is D in Deltarune? The first part, which is the Light World. And the light world looks like Snowdin Town.

Where is E in Undertale? There's two E's, and I don't know which one it is.
If it's the first one, that'd be right after D, or at the start of Waterfall. And in Waterfall there's the houses of Napstablook and Mettaton, which look like the houses in Castle Town. So there's a case there.
If it's the second one, it'd be at New Home to Omega Flowey. I don't see how those are like Castle Town.

Kind of unrelated but it's interesting how 4th wall breaks in Deltarune are kind of taken literally.
For example if you skip the legend Lancer says "i'm the tear shaped head boy from the legend"(paraphrasing). In most games dudes would think "haha funny joke" but because it's deltarune people think "Lancer must canonically know about the visuals of the legend."

I think that the reason birdly’s injuries last outside of the darkworld is because they were inflicted by another lightener, and not by a darkner (at least in snowgrave). Lightners are implied to be stronger, and thus the damage caused by them may be more permanent or “real”.

wrt waffling at 1:37:30, it is stated in the queen's mansion puzzle that they are "darkbulbs" - that is, emitting darkness (and therefore negative photons) to create shadow and color. by that logic, the transformation of color in the dark world could be in reference to the fact that different materials reflect different wavelengths of light differently - in this particular instance, instead of emitting their ordinary visible-spectrum light from stimulation by positive photons, since there aren't any positive photons to make those colors be emitted, these negative photons (referencing entry 17) instead trigger a different emissive response by nature of being negative. a bit like how if you look at flowers in the visible spectrum, they often appear homogenous and beautiful - however, looking at them in the ultraviolet spectrum reveals "invisible" patterns and runways that are visible to their pollinators. this would just be the... negative light spectrum, if we make the assertion that a negative photon behaves otherwise-identically to photons, just with some inverted properties due to the "negative" part of entry 17.
this wouldn't account for the physical outfit changes, but it would account for the differences in kris's skintone, for example. there are many things we don't know about what a negative photon would even *do*, and real-world physics doesn't exactly study the nature of magic, so we don't have a lot of precedent to rest on. asserting that a negative photon only behaves like a photon but with a negative wavelength (since photons are already (electromagnetically speaking) negatively charged) can't explain why there are parts of kris's outfit that appear/disappear, but perhaps part of the negative photon idea is that is able to reflect off of something that is otherwise-invisible to positive photons (regardless of wavelength), and unlike normal photons, are able to make something real by reflecting off it. this would assert that everyone has an innate "dark outfit", that is made real by being shown in the "light" of negative photons (a property normal photons, to be clear, do not have), and likewise, the normal outfit we see in the overworld is made invisible and unreal in the same way the dark outfit is normally.
in this way, despite the dark being a place of whimsy, dreams, and unreality, it would mean that despite it all, negative photons/darkness do still have the ability to shed light (pun intended) on the true nature of things - kris truly is wearing that outfit and has blue skin, but it is not something that is apparent in the harsh reality of daylight and social masks. in that same way, objects that become darkners are truly those darkners, and shedding negative light on them reveals the truth through unreality.

Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a snowgrave playthrough. Even though you've talked a lot about the big stuff, there's still small details you can find that may not be caught by most people. Plus, the harder Spamton fight is always fun
Spamton aside, Snowgrave route features a lot of interesting little bits of changes and otherwise-unseen details. It also has one of the most fascinating mysteries in the game, in terms of what exactly happened between Susie and Noelle in that route.

i just started reading a book on how to program, and they define a hyperlink as "A type of reference (a link) between two or more locations on *the same site*. Usually, a hyperlink will open either a new window or new tab in a web browser that reads the referenced text or image at that locations" - Coding for absolute beginners and cybersecurity
Through this reading, maybe hyperlink blocked means spamton is trying to access something already in the cyberworld, or the reality of deltarune. "new window or new tab" might mean he wants to take that something and bring it to a new world, or new reality.

Theory dump, deltarune is a prequal to undertale, and the main antagonist is w.d gaster, as he was experimenting with dark world's in undertale, he shattered across time and space, who's knows if some of those are good or not, but a part of him ends up in an alternate universe (deltarune) and he keeps experimenting eventually creating the roaring and breaking that reality or that universe that he's in, and that's when sans and papyrus end up in undertale because sans took them to an alternate universe, and that's how sans knows everything a human would know, and the machine in his basement is actually a time machine and he's trying to go back in time to secretly stop gaster or something, this is just a crazy idea i just thought of so towards the end it started unraveling, but that's the theory!

Since King and Queen were both affected by exposure to the dark fountain would that suggest that Chris and Susie would be as well upon entering the dark world? I mean we do know that Chris is a depressed child so what if him going blue in the dark world is to emphasize that fact? This would go along with Susie as well with the fact that she wears clothes that are edgy to further emphasize her nature as well? Thoughts?

I think the spinning statues at the start may reference Mettaton EX/NEO. Mettaton EX/NEO and Queen's body look extremely similar, so the reference might be a hint/easter egg for the secret boss meant to pass off as statues of Queen. The main reason I say this is because the head of the statues are very clearly upside-down yellow hearts, aka what the soul looks like during the Mettaton EX battle. It makes me wonder if we'll have other thematic hints for the secret bosses in future chapters.
If there IS a theme to the secret bosses, I would guess that they represent the Undertale neutral route bosses but in reverse. Jevil has a royalty theme and the soul is red like in Asgore's battle on top of Asgore using a variety of attack types other bosses have used, aka Asgore could do anything AND acting couldn't progress either fight. Meanwhile, Spamton turns your heart yellow and makes it shoot bullets like in the Mettaton fight. If I'm correct about this, we should have a purple soul for the secret boss battle in chapter 3. (or if there is no particular order but still a theme, it could be blue or green... or Toby Fox might have made new soul modes for the cyan and orange souls, or even use the stop and move mechanic for those souls).

Depending on your choices in chapter 2 Berdly literally dies. Even if time resets you still gaslight Noelle into killing someone. I can't see "your choices don't matter" being the main theme of this game especially if we end up "weirding" other characters in other routes in future chapters.
Personally I think the theme of this game is "do you have the guts to make difficult decisions to save the world". (Tin foil hat time) I think to defeat the angel's heaven you will have to weird up three characters, Noelle being one of them. These three would be the monster, human and darkner from the prophecy. Weirding them up would make them strong/powerful enough to defeat the angel. Once there is a save file with the almost completed weird route for each three characters in the game you would unlock the "one single ending" that Deltarune supposedly has. Defeating the angel is the one ending, and in all other cases the world resets so it's not really "an ending". In this case (read: my headcannon) the decision of killing Berdly would end up being permanent and would not be reset.
