I liked the movie very much. I ❤ Vadivelu, Fahad Faasil, Udayanidhi Stalin and couple of other performers. I actually felt the BGM by AR Rahman took the movie to heights because if the BGM didn't go well then we will the lag in this movie... Specially the punch before interval was super amazing.
Film talks about lower cast, upper cast blah blah blah!!! Even I felt Fahad was given a Thevar Magan look because I remember the director of this movie mentioning he was disturbed after watching Thevar Magan because of the kind of story that they portrayed during those times. . Evn though I mentioned Udayanidhi Stalin did his role well, but his expressions were the same always.. Evn though he was the producer, there is no ego within him because his name was mentioned at the 4th place while showing the credits.. Being a producer his name didn't show up first and he's good. Vadivelu and Fahad showed great performances and the flashbacks were good as well... The mass scenes were at the point...
Technical sides such as bgm, DOP, then the art work, music, songs all good...
Overall 7.5/10

Fahad Fasil has acted very well but I think Azhagam Perumal(his father in this movie) would have done a wonderful job has a politician if he came through out the movie, his acting as a politician in the movie Puthupethai is still one of the best, even in this movie the way he looks at Vadivelu in the black white scene is exceptional

Yes it would be interesting if Azhagam Perumal was also in the movie more, but from a story perspective the movie is about the caste evil falling into the minds of the younger generation. Fahad is the younger generation doing the same thing his father used to do. After his father's death only he feels that he is responsible in protecting the caste pride that his father injected into his head. If anyone goes against that system he feels that he has failed his father. That explains his obsession in defeating Vadivelu and Udayanidi's characters. Whereas udayanidhi's character wants to go against his father Vadivelu for being subservient to the system all his life. When Vadivelu sees that even after being loyal after so many years nothing has changed and his son might have to go through the same problems he joins hands with his son in the fight.

No Maari selvaraj is narrating the struggles of people who had been oppressed for years and generations.I felt the Post traumatic stress disorder of the child who had grown up in to an adult with simmering anger towards societal indifference to child murders which goes unpunished .I loved it.Nothing mokkai about this movie.
Why does this look like, when Karnan and Mamannan retaliates and ends with a climax with a change is socially disturbing and provoking, while Pariyerum perumal ended with the same oppression was 💎 !? As if there is zero movies in Kollywood that is encouraging Violence and only Karnan and Maamannan are teaching. It's all the mindset !
