4:46 It's not anti-gravity (in the way I think Johnny is referring to it as), it's switching gravity, like in Mario Galaxy. I think that's a way more interesting mechanic than slowing down super fast objects.
I mean, if we’re being pedantic, “floating around in space” is because of low gravity. “Anti-gravity” is a theoretical sci-fi concept of making something immune to the forces of gravity, rather than a lack of gravity itself (since gravity exists everywhere, even in space). So theoretically, it makes sense that you’d need some form of anti-gravity before you can apply a new force of gravity that pulls you in another direction. So he’s still technically correct, in a theoretical sense at least :P
I'm not personally worried about a Switch version as it eventually Will come like what happened with The N.sane Trilogy & Spyro Reignighted! The Design change for Crash and Especially Coco were also needed!
The design change for Crash and Coco was NOT needed. It’s horrible what they have done. It disrespects the originals. It’s like the Sonic movie trailer character. We need to start a petition so Toys for Bob change this.
I bet they were pitching the game to some executive before it had a title and exec asked, "What's it about?" and everyone just had a lightbulb moment in unison.
I personally view the art direction for this game as more an evolution of the N-Sane designs because the only thing it really did was take those designs and just make them more cartoony as opposed to the realistic hair and stuff that some people thought was a bit off putting.
@@Matthew_Murray You should give the N-sane trilogy or the PS1 games a shot first tho if you are interested considering they are quite cheap and gives you the idea what to expect in terms of gameplay (tho just start with Crash 2 or 3 if you do give them a shot as Crash 1 is a bit more infamous in terms of difficulty while being not as good in general).
ya know I wonder if they decided to introduce crunch in this game, or atleast reference the character as crunch was honestly one of the best things in the later post-crash trilogy games.

Outer Worlds was a forced port, and the Switch clearly couldn't handle it. If a more powerful Switch doesn't release, or Nintendo doesn't release a firmware update that allows developers to use the full clock speeds of Tegra, we're going to get worse & worse ports, and less & less on top of that :(
I really hope there is little to no gimmick stages. Crash 3 was my least favorite of the original trilogy as a result of that. I feel that game went overboard with those stages and I couldn’t appreciate the platforming stages when they actually came up. I liked what I saw in this trailer so I hope it stay focused on that.
Crash 3 is my childhood game, but screw the gimmick stages lol. I’m fine with the animal riding stuff, that’s iconic to crash, but the motorcycle, jet ski, and especially those boring plane stages. I’m fine with like, a couple of gimmicks, but if it’s over half the game I will be disappointed.

It's just when things go overboard that I have a problem with it. Felt like nothing had room to breathe. Crash 4 looks like it's focusing on platforming first, and they seemingly even reworked the jet board stages to make them more kinetic. So I'm looking forward to that.
So I’m assuming they’re gonna ditch the 25 level, 5 world layout that we’ve been used, or even ditch crystals and just make it so that you just need to get to the end cause in my honest opinion, the crystals weren’t even that hard to miss on the way. I’m Curious if they will expand the length of levels since a lot of them in the original trilogy seemed a little short at times. Maybe even more worlds and creative secrets to new levels and not just “jump on top of the nitro crates and get teleported” or “get carried away by the 3rd bird” or whatever. I also noticed in the gameplay that there was a counter for the wumpa fruits that went past 100, which originally got you an extra life like other platform era. I wonder if that would go towards 100% on top of breaking all crates. It shows online it’s gonna be a 60 dollar game and has offline multiplayer, so I’m assuming they’re gonna really jam pack this game.
If you didn't know yet here are the info : 1) It's going to be like crash 1 (no warp rooms just going from a level to level) 2) it will have 2 modes one is the normal collect 100 wumpas to get a life and game over if you lose all of them and you have to collect all boxes for a gem And the other mode has infinite lives but you get rewards for completing it in a specific amount of times like die less than 20 times to get a crystal and die less than 15 to get a gem or collect a specific amount of wumpas (that's why the counter went past 100) since there is no gain 100 wumpas to get a life because you have infinite lives anymore
my first ever game was crash bandicoot 2. when i turned 7 years old, my dad bought me a ps1 n crash bandicoot 2, i was able to choose from crash 1 or crash 2, i went for crash 2 because i liked the cover more lol. and when the trilogy was released on ps4, it was pure nostalgia. i love the music when youre in portal room. im definitely pickin crash bandicoot 4. crash for life.
There’s only one costume I want, the original Crash 2 & 3 model with the classic animations (like the “Crash 1” head turn and the yo-yo) and sound effects too.
One thing I noticed in that Twitter post was that there was a Wumpa Fruit count like boxes had. Most likely in the modern mode. I wonder if this will replace the box count. You would have to get all boxes anyway to get all fruit so it's just a good extra challenge.

If there is a mask in this game like the Dweller's Mask in Hat in Time, then we know their taking ideas from other games. Now, there's nothing wrong with that, as long as they do something original with it and I do aware the Dweller's Mask was based off a Mario Galaxy 2 mechanic, but considering it was brought up, that was the first thing I thought of, and we should watch for that.
I really think you guys should do more analysis and discussion of non-Nintendo games, like this and the one you did for Ratchet and Clank. Your level of deep analysis really doesn’t exist elsewhere on the internet for these games and I’d love to see you do it.

Everything about this game is looking good... *except for the new character redesigns* which I'm NOT a fan of (especially the redesigns for Cortex and Coco). It would've been MUCH BETTER had they decided to stick to the *previous Crash Bandicoot models established in the N. Sane Trilogy* IMO.

Ya know, as much as I’d want this second season of Smash DLC to be Nintendo only characters, given that Crash 4 is a thing now, I would almost expect Crash to be one of the DLC characters. Wouldn’t even be surprised if his release would be timed roughly with the release of the game as well (if Covid related delays doesn’t get in the way, of course).
Why would they include a character to promote a game they're not getting? Joker wasn't included to promote Persona 5, it had already been out for years (if anything he was included to promote Persona Q2 which was an exclusive) Terry and Banjo didn't have any recent releases to effect their inclusion and Hero and Byleth promoted exclusives Crash may still happen but this game wouldn't have had anything to do with it

It's about Activision making a deal with Nintendo to indirectly promote a game for them, and in return Nintendo gets access to their character. Joker was a deal to promote Persona 5. It being out already is irrelevant, it was still a promotional tool. Terry is part of SNKs longterm goal of having their characters guest appear in other companies' games to repopularize their characters to a modern audience, and it's something they've been doing for years now, and something they've been very open about. Banjo is the only outlier, and for all we know there could've been other deals made in the background simultaneously, things we won't see anything of until they're announced, like Banjo 1 & 2 HD on Switch, or even just to spark early awareness of the character for an eventual Banjo 3 game on Xbox (which would make it a benefitial deal to both companies).
So now I have a decision to make. Either wait until a possible Switch or PC port(because of course it’s on the only 2 platforms I don’t own), buy a PS4(because why the hell would I buy an Xbox?), or just give up.(like I did for the Oculus Rift)
I'm hyped for this game and will probably buy it. Though I'm disappointed they made Coco a female Crash clone again move-set wise instead of giving her a fixed-up, refined version of her martial-arts themed moveset from Wrath of Cortex.

I really think you guys should do more analysis and discussion of non-Nintendo games, like this and the one you did for Ratchet and Clank. Your level of deep analysis really doesn’t exist elsewhere on the internet for these games and I’d love to see you do it.

Completing the level without dying is basically time trials, but without the speedrunning. Wonder if time trials will be there too?

pretty much agree. glad classic crash is back and it looks like the right amount of new and classic.
Everything about this game is looking good... *except for the new character redesigns* which I'm NOT a fan of (especially the redesigns for Cortex and Coco).
It would've been MUCH BETTER had they decided to stick to the *previous Crash Bandicoot models established in the N. Sane Trilogy* IMO.

Before it I got an ad for Crash 4 lol, I thought it was apart of the video at first till I saw the yellow bar. I watched it all anyway because I am just, so hyped!!!
Felt so old this game is 20 years old.
Ya know, as much as I’d want this second season of Smash DLC to be Nintendo only characters, given that Crash 4 is a thing now, I would almost expect Crash to be one of the DLC characters.
Wouldn’t even be surprised if his release would be timed roughly with the release of the game as well (if Covid related delays doesn’t get in the way, of course).
Maybe Coco could be a skin? I'm not sure if she would be an Echo given I don't think those are on the dlc pass.
HeavyDonkeyKong I don’t think she’d be in the game at all. A Mii fighter or assist at best.
For the most part, that's what the first pass felt like. They seemed to mostly coincide with new franchise installments.
Why would they include a character to promote a game they're not getting?
Joker wasn't included to promote Persona 5, it had already been out for years (if anything he was included to promote Persona Q2 which was an exclusive)
Terry and Banjo didn't have any recent releases to effect their inclusion and Hero and Byleth promoted exclusives
Crash may still happen but this game wouldn't have had anything to do with it
@@elemomnialpha It's not about Nintendo promoting a game for themselves. It's about Activision making a deal with Nintendo to indirectly promote a game for them, and in return Nintendo gets access to their character.
Joker was a deal to promote Persona 5. It being out already is irrelevant, it was still a promotional tool.
Terry is part of SNKs longterm goal of having their characters guest appear in other companies' games to repopularize their characters to a modern audience, and it's something they've been doing for years now, and something they've been very open about.
Banjo is the only outlier, and for all we know there could've been other deals made in the background simultaneously, things we won't see anything of until they're announced, like Banjo 1 & 2 HD on Switch, or even just to spark early awareness of the character for an eventual Banjo 3 game on Xbox (which would make it a benefitial deal to both companies).
So now I have a decision to make.
Either wait until a possible Switch or PC port(because of course it’s on the only 2 platforms I don’t own),
buy a PS4(because why the hell would I buy an Xbox?),
or just give up.(like I did for the Oculus Rift)
I would like to see a Mario game by Toys For Bob. I liked the art style of the N. Sane trilogy, but I like Crash 4's look way more.

I should probably get back to the wrath of cortex and twinsanity, I stopped playing those years ago. I cannot remember why.
hopefully the framrate is steady, because Spyro on the switch is nearly unplayable due to framerate dips
I'm hyped for this game and will probably buy it. Though I'm disappointed they made Coco a female Crash clone again move-set wise instead of giving her a fixed-up, refined version of her martial-arts themed moveset from Wrath of Cortex.
