Thanks for the positive review of the new Soltek easel. A few helpful hints: There are two threaded holes on the back of the ultra and four on the front. Anything can be attached with a 1/4" screw to any of the holes. A simple string or chain can hold a roll of paper towels. Adjustment to the parts that hold the box angle will allow easy adjustment, and it should only be needed infrequently, if at all. The fold out trays can be used as additional palette space if you want a palette as wide as 2 1/2 feet-- Also, though we don't want to discourage anyone from buying the new one, we still service the original. It had the release for telescoping at the bottom and sand or mud was occasionally a problem and that is part of the reason we changed the design. It is now probably the most sand and swamp-proof easel available. By making the easel in 2 pieces we increased versatility, lost weight and spread the "table" to the sides instead of the front.
Thank you. I've ordered one and it's been delivered, but I haven't moved to Florida yet. So it's there waiting for me. Like you, I made the order with both sizes. And thanks for the heads up on the Allen wrenches to keep the box level trick.
Great video! I am loving my Soltek 2.0. I see on their site that they are updating some parts, and i wonder if something about the easel wasn’t working. But mine is holding up well

Thanks Jim. I am a devoted user of the soltek
I'm glad to know the Soltek is back. I bought another easel a year ago but may switch.

Please do a follow-up video after maybe 50 outings, including sandy places, to see how it holds up.
This seems to be wonderful. Thanks for your review. I'm curious about storing the wet painted canvas for transport back to home studio?
I have a paint box that I carry the paintings in made by Raymar Art

My dream is to get a soltek!!!! 😅 soon very soon. Thx you 🙏🎉
Thank you!
You're welcome
I agree that it could be made a few inches wider and add a hole for hanging things from just looking at the video.
