My family have had ours for ten years now. It has had its fair share of issues, but nothing we couldn't fix. It has been working without issues for a while. My dog used to love watching the balls move around and he loved the sounds as if you told him "pinball" he would run over and bark. When it would get noisy, he would bark at it. If you pick him up, he will watch the ball. He also would jump on a nearby chair to watch.

Nice video. I had a Taxi pinball machine back in 1993. The fellow that maintained it for me also owned an arcade and told me about a great new machine called Twilight Zone. He ordered one straight from the factory for me and it has been sitting in my rec room since. One of my better purchasing decisions.

  • @litz13

I've owned mine (a "sample" version) since 1995.
In 2019 (pre Covid), at the Southern Fried Gaming Expo, it ran for the entire weekend with zero faults aside from a single burned out bulb.
Proof positive that once properly repaired and brought "up to snuff", even Twilight Zone can be a reliable game.

Great video! That's my game at 13:02! Adding that 3rd magnet during my restoration was a real pain, but entirely worth it. Shown in that clip is how the 3rd magnet operates during "The Spiral" mode, but the real treat is how it loads a ball onto each magnet and releases them all at the same time for multiball start.

This pinball machine is one of the best memories of my youth.
We had one in my little town's arcade, in Italy. It must have been a hacked specimen, or maybe the installer left some dip switches on, because it had some very advantageous features turned on:
    - during the clock bonus phase, you could max out the 255.000.000 points just by pushing the plunger! Pushing the plunger had the same effect as hitting the needed bumper.
    - by pressing the start button, you could stack points during the drive-in bonus phase, as if you hit the needed bumper.
This way, one could keep winning extraballs and keep playing forever ^_^
Also, when you get the extraball, the machine woule make a resounding *SNAP* noise.

I went to a local pinball dealer in 2001, and he suggested this machine to me, because it had the most complex rule set at the time. I have had it since, and am glad I took his advice on what machine to buy. I don't have any other machines, but do play some in VR, or with on the PC. I plan on buying or building a virtual pin machine.

I own a near mint Twilght Zone owned it for 20 years. I would agree best pinball ever, Medi Evil Maddness and Addam Family. I was a pinball tech for almost 20 years back in the pinball glory days. I also owned a STNG and Xenon. I maintained 20+ pinball machines plus all the other video games and jukeboxes. Mine was in payment for some work on a few bartop video games from a small opperater. I'll have to get the black light out and check if it a bootleg. I suspect it was as there was some pretty shady sides to the business. I did the clock led mode long time ago so clock is mint. We had 2 TWZ in the field and they got well used and pretty beaten up. Any idea how many of the 15k are still with us?. I might do the full led mod, maybe next time I need to service it. Really cool video, good job and thanks, brings back a few of memories .......

@@KevinCarrington I got it from a literal dive bar. The bars owner told me it sat in the corner for years, untouched. It had a layer of dirt on the playfield, but I stripped it down and gave it a good cleaning. He wanted it gone so he could buy a Harley Davidson pin.
The only drawback was it took a LONG time to get rid of the cigarette smoke odor.

Ewwwww. There’s an uncensored playboy at a dive bar down the street that I want to steal haha. Lots of smoke on that too

What a beauty. Just dont destroy your TZ with LED bulbs. I also find pretty ugly colored DMDs on 90s games but this TZ animations are pretty cool

hi ! watched this video and it seems you're plagiarising the wikipedia article of this game word for word !

It's hard to take this video credibly when right off the bat the overhead narrator mispronounces the last name of the creator and host of The Twilight Zone. It's Serling, not Sterling. Makes it painfully obvious you didn't do enough research.

I mispronounced it in the beginning and I pray to the Pinball Gods everyday to wash away my sins
