Here's a quick listen to 12 compressors on the same snare drum clip... level matched. I was not paying attention to matching settings on each snare drum, just auditioning and playing around with each one. A few I was purely trying to set at the most extreme just to hear it (all the ART clips are that, along with one of the MDX2000 clips)...
be mindful, you just can't fully judge a compressor (or any gear) from a clip or two on Facebook. The point here is just to share some references of gear.. the biggest "comparison" happening is between the dry clip and each processed clip.
Anywho... be sure to listen on good headphones or monitors.
Oh, also... the bonus example is a listen to overhead and room mics alone, then with the processed snare on top of it. I found that it helped to let the snare clip be louder so it stood out, versus how I would normally mix it in ... UNDER the distant mics. Whatever just trying to give you as much info about what you're hearing as I can..
