It's not top secret but the combination of the sets is what makes it stand out. Templar struggle with no ability to root after a pull. This fixes that in lots of situations 😉 Thank you for watching !

So, I've been running a 1 bar setup with the basics from this build to get used to mechanics in certain 4 man content. I only started playing a few months ago. I have the tormentor set and leeching atm, but want to try tormentor and rush of agony. For now, it is working great in normal and vet dungeons. I am going to do the 2 bar setup here soon now that I have gotten the hang of it. Love the content!

Before the champ pts overhaul, was already enjoying tormenter with the monster set that webs everything to you, could use the arena shield as well, just charge around, blocks pulls ranged to you if using that arena shield, runners could be pulled back pretty easily, good fun for dungeons n the like.

I'm new to Eso, just getting into it on xbox. I play a lot with a friend who has a dps build so I decided to go tank (this is what I did last time we played a mmorpg...lotro) I'm aiming for this build as it looks a lot of fun and relatively easy to achieve. I have a question though: for a low level (lv26 at the mo) I'm finding solo levelling a bit slow as a tank, how would you level quicker...maybe switch to 2 handed for extra dps and use stanima enchantments? Generally speaking tanks don't do a lot of damage (unless you build for it) however, adding some damage based skills or a damage focused weapon would make things die a little faster in the early days yes. If you want help with levelling efficiently however so that you are not hurt by some of the power level trends, check this video out. I didn't want to completely respec away from a tank build because I want to learn my trade from the ground up. I'll stick to sword and board when playing with mate and 2 handed for solo questing. Yeah this is the most satisfying Templar tank build, easy mode and if done right allows easy mitigation between taunting with Magicka and Stamina! Allows for easy resource recovery on longer fights!
If you use Fighters guild: turn evil instead of the Time Freeze skill right after you use the Rush agony and/or void bash (if you use that too), then you you fear/stun all mobs in the area using stamina rather than magica, and you gain minor protection and endurance for 20 seconds. For a tank, i think this is a better option. I personally use Rush of agony on one bar and void bash set on the other, i dash in with explosive charge on the ice staff, hit turn evil then a couple skills, then void bash to get the mobs that are just coming into range, then turn evil again to hold them put. In a good group this is plenty of time to wipe the mobs out with AOE skills. I will also use resolving vigor for the minor resolve and extra healing.
I found this after making the build. I personally use swarm mother. So much stamina save, and open skill slot without needing SL. Its a great build and so fun. 1st time I used it, a whole group was beside themselves confused on how I was tanking entire rooms so quickly.

Did you see in the patch notes for patch 41 that Tormentor is losing the ability to aoe taunt? The Lazy Tank is one of my favorite builds and now it is dead. Say it isn’t so! Developer Comment: This set has flown under the radar at allowing an Area of Effect application of a taunt for quite some time, but like all things in life, it must come to an end. While this is a very old functionality of the item set, Area of Effect-damaging movement abilities were spread few and far between during its introduction to the game, so its AoE taunt capabilities went effectively unnoticed. Over time, however, we've added significantly more of these ability types and this item set has enabled behavior that goes against one of our core philosophies for tanking - where taunting should be an individual action meant for one specific target in the moment of activation. To prevent a complete loss to this set, it now works with blinks and we added a new healing functionality to help ensure chain activating the abilities still provides something fun and impactful.
Does anyone know if this would work with the Nightblade's Lotus Fan ability or would it be scuffed? The way Lotus Fan reads, it looks like it only deals direct damage to the initial target and then applies an aoe dot to everything else, so I'm not sure if it would taunt everything.

Fun, but Void Bash is better than Agony, either that or use both for interchangeable cooldowns. This isnt a good tank build for trials but for 4mans this makes things ridiculously fast so its cool
Void bash applies the stun cc. Agony does not. Which means you have more control since templar doesn't have a root. Which is the point of the setup overall. However yes void is a fun set

If I brought this build to a Godslayer Prog, I'd be laughed out of Sunspire. Sure, it can survive but it has zero group benefit. It's fine for add pulls in 4 man content but, again, these adds would be melted in mere seconds anyhow. Don't think you're going to be able to equip this build and then asked to join trial hardmode progs cause it ain't happening. P. Yoln/Turning Tide/Nazaray is the meta for main tanking trials. This is clickbait for noobies and it's only going to get them ridiculed.
Yet it would happen...Endgame players on console are literally running timers that tell them when to drop ultimates, etc. They don't have addons like PC. Endgamers are a serious bunch of folks. This build is fine for casual players in 4 man content that aren't worried about completing vet hard modes. Casual players will love it, I'm sure. You would not be allowed to run this in an organized end game group, though. You need to learn, as a tank, to survive in proper support sets from day one. Your life will be so much better down the road. In this game, DPS is king and if you aren't boosting DPS then you aren't doing your job. If you boost the DPS, you won't have to tank the boss for ten minutes. Xynode runs with endgame guilds so, trust me, he knows what I'm saying is true. He's also a content creator so I get why he makes these build videos. If you want endgame builds search Hyperioxes channel.

The solution to this is in your very comment. If the groups you play in are laughing at you, then make your own. "the guilds im in dont let me do this" then fine, make your own guild. Make your own prog teams, set your own rules. Endgame guilds arent the only way to get into endgame content. At any time, you can do your own Godslayer. Your own IR. Your own TTT. These communities dont have a monopoly on titles and content. Just do it yourself, like I decided to do six years ago. When you build your own guild and core teams, you can do whatever you want
This would be PERFECT if there was just a list of ALL the gear and weapons worn. I love the instructions but all the back and forth means I am not too sure what gear I need for what slots. Need a list of both gear sets and weapons. Too fast and too much back and forth. I’m really only sure about the monster helm.
Okay so this build is kinda garbage because Rush of Agony doesn't really work or add anything to the build. So it works maybe 50% of the time, and when it does you're only grouping maybe half a pull. You can't grab the remaining until after the 8 second internal CD. Even with that working, there's no point to it. The taunt is critical yes, but the pull... there is no fight in eso that requires the mobs to be grouped. When they get grouped with chains they barely more a couple inches and there's literally no benefit. So RoA is just a giant waste of a set bonus and very difficult to farm. Sounds great in theory but the game is so garbage that half the tanking mechs don't work as advertised. Also you have some kind of dot in your video that I can't figure out from your written guide. Is it the poison or something? Also using timestop first makes no sense, there is no mob pattern that's close like your dummies. You'd only be getting half of your pull.
I stumbled across this video just a few hours ago, copied it and ran it through moongrave fang HM , Cauldron HM, Stone Garden HM, and Castle Thorn HM. Works just fine. Every bit of the build works exactly as advertised. Maybe try genuine a genuine attempt to listen to others instead of tearing other people down? "Theres no fight that requires mobs to be grouped" - veteran players (at least the toxic kind) have a hard time differrntiating between *neccesary* and *useful*. 99.9% of the things you think are neccesary, arent, and 100% of the things that are useful, you think arent. See a pattern here?
1. With this build you are doing 1/2 your job and just being a selfish tank. Tanks need to give buffs as well as just be a meat shield. Healers need to buff the group as well. This type of build may be fine for jsut random normal content that isnt very challenging but it is absolutly not good for more difficult content! There is a reason tanks farm and have multiple different buff sets!! Ever wonder why the powerful assault staff sells for 6mil, remind me what build uses the power assault........oh right tanks? 2. This is the same build that went around for years and years for fun low level content running wearwolf builds!! You just recycled an old classic build and act like you invented it LULZ!

Yes this still works did vet hm cloudrest with it you can tank with any race and class if you have the experience.

The aura is the concentrated barrier passive from Psijic Order skill line having Time Stop on your bar giving you a damage shield ;)

It's a pull whole dungeon setup. Was doing it with dark conversation and tormentor set . It's quite fun 😊

That is technically from the rune skill but sometimes it lingers, which is a bit of a bug. But a good one! lol

It's not . Lotus fan makes single target damage and then spreads AOE damage. No mass taunt with tormentor set and Lotus fan.

Why the Shield Discipline morph and not Spell Wall?
Can you replace the time freeze with other spell if you don't have the dlc?

The solution to this is in your very comment. If the groups you play in are laughing at you, then make your own. "the guilds im in dont let me do this" then fine, make your own guild. Make your own prog teams, set your own rules. Endgame guilds arent the only way to get into endgame content. At any time, you can do your own Godslayer. Your own IR. Your own TTT. These communities dont have a monopoly on titles and content. Just do it yourself, like I decided to do six years ago. When you build your own guild and core teams, you can do whatever you want

This would be PERFECT if there was just a list of ALL the gear and weapons worn. I love the instructions but all the back and forth means I am not too sure what gear I need for what slots. Need a list of both gear sets and weapons. Too fast and too much back and forth. I’m really only sure about the monster helm.

Okay so this build is kinda garbage because Rush of Agony doesn't really work or add anything to the build. So it works maybe 50% of the time, and when it does you're only grouping maybe half a pull. You can't grab the remaining until after the 8 second internal CD. Even with that working, there's no point to it. The taunt is critical yes, but the pull... there is no fight in eso that requires the mobs to be grouped. When they get grouped with chains they barely more a couple inches and there's literally no benefit. So RoA is just a giant waste of a set bonus and very difficult to farm. Sounds great in theory but the game is so garbage that half the tanking mechs don't work as advertised. Also you have some kind of dot in your video that I can't figure out from your written guide. Is it the poison or something? Also using timestop first makes no sense, there is no mob pattern that's close like your dummies. You'd only be getting half of your pull.
Im using Turning Tide with Tornmentor on my Templar, I think TT is one of the best tank sets in the game.
I stumbled across this video just a few hours ago, copied it and ran it through moongrave fang HM , Cauldron HM, Stone Garden HM, and Castle Thorn HM. Works just fine. Every bit of the build works exactly as advertised. Maybe try genuine a genuine attempt to listen to others instead of tearing other people down?
"Theres no fight that requires mobs to be grouped" - veteran players (at least the toxic kind) have a hard time differrntiating between *neccesary* and *useful*. 99.9% of the things you think are neccesary, arent, and 100% of the things that are useful, you think arent. See a pattern here?
1. With this build you are doing 1/2 your job and just being a selfish tank. Tanks need to give buffs as well as just be a meat shield. Healers need to buff the group as well. This type of build may be fine for jsut random normal content that isnt very challenging but it is absolutly not good for more difficult content! There is a reason tanks farm and have multiple different buff sets!! Ever wonder why the powerful assault staff sells for 6mil, remind me what build uses the power assault........oh right tanks?
2. This is the same build that went around for years and years for fun low level content running wearwolf builds!! You just recycled an old classic build and act like you invented it LULZ!
