- Did Zenimax Online Studios finally KILL the Lazy Tank (pve templar tank build) with the AOE taunt nerf in The Elder Scrolls Online?
NOT A CHANCE! This build has been REVIVED! While the Lazy tank dies, the Dark Soul RISES!!
The changes to AOE taunt were due to an oversight, they never fully intended to allow it to happen. So some of the functionality of the setup went down the drain. However in doing so they altered the set to make it function REALLY well with a side bonus at the same time as removing some of the design constraints on the build. Allowing for adaptation, change and an all round BETTER build!
This now has PVE Templar Tank build now has SO much more survival AND it can actually help support damage in ALL PVE content and most of all is solid VIABLE option for the Infinite Archive without the need for a "unique" build! This can jump from one type of content to another with EASE and still applies the problem solving FIX to the current lack of class immobilization!
You tank harder and hit harder, WIN WIN!!

I am definitely going to try out the BRP DW back-bar. Post Tormentor nerf, I've been running a build that is basically the same as this, except with Vateshran tank weps on the back-bar, to alternate the pull-in CDs. And, while that does make for a blazing fast pack-to-pack dungeon build, I have found it to be a bit excessive. Meaning, I rarely find that I actually need access to a pull-in that's off-CD _that_ frequently. Because, if DPS is high enough to merit it, trash agro is kind of a non-issue anyway. Thanks for suggesting BRP DW back-bar. That looks really fun!

First of all, thanks for the video! Question: Is this a newbie friendly build, and can I go with this one while farming for gear and all other content? All other builds are going with ice staff, which really doesn't fit my style.

Can any other weapon setup or 1 hand combo in place of BRP weapons? Or is it going to lower the stats of the build so much it makes the build not worth it?
New player here and currently levelling my first templar. First half of the video is making sense and seems fairly straightforward.
Second half is confusing me. How do these weapons or sets of gear work exactly?
If i do a dungeon that gives me your helmet at level 16... wont that be useless by the time im 50?
Would i use other stuff then do that dungeon at level 50 to get the highest damage variant? Or do you get it early and keep upgrading? Are these endgame weapons? Would i no longer need to chase anything once i have a "maxed out" version of these? (I dont mind this)

Does the Tormentor armor buff stack over and over if you proc it on one target after another? It says they are taunted for 15 sec but doesn't mention a cooldown to the armor buff and since it's not a major or minor armor buff, in theory, it should stack
armour buff is a one time thing from the activation of the set regardless of amount of targets. It's a unique buff and has it's on visual symbol for it.

Can we use that build in PVP? It seems very similar to PVP tank build of yours.
You can change Quick Clock with Solar Barrage but not increase defense
but you can solve using Master Sword & Shield (Perfected Puncturing Remedy) in second bar (backup). Ultimate: Barrier (Rep/Rev)
would this still work with a 2hander in the backbar? Bearing in mind the lack of blade cloak
Yea curious as well about 2hander backbar setup for solo running content and archive viability.

Tormentor set works with Void Bash? (Vateshran Shield set)
Sure but only single target taunt no aoe taunt and void bash applies cc immunity so keep that in mind

I don't think he's right. Sets don't proc sets. So the pull from Vatershran shouldn't proc Tormentor.

@Lazahro. tormentor isn't a proc it's a conditional based effect, you pull, leap, teleport, or whatever and tormentor will taunt the first enemy hit. However rush of agony is a pull, it's an aoe pull but tormentor will only taunt one of them when they are pulled
So I don’t see the extra on tormentor or agony ?? Tormentor is now 50% heal on first one hit and I don’t see anything about any healing etc… like the build though. I personally found this accidental taunt 5 years ago. Was using tormentor in dungeons on huge pulls was during quick due to aging everything. No proof however wasn’t active on UA-cam back then. Live Templar tanking !! I use magma, leeching, overwhelming atm.

How does scribing play into this build?
Is good blazing get immobilizes now so no need to use a set for it.
i'm a main tank in literally every other MMO but i will never tank in ESO without a real taunt etc
There are indeed (single target) taunts for tanks in ESO. There was change to a gear set that had an AOE taunt.
With scripting we can make AoE taunts, if done right you can apply both breaches and a taunt rather than using pierce armour. I ran through vLC the other day with it for fun. Surprised these trifectas teams aren't doing it

I agree Cj a living tank can taunt. Not chasing leader boards just want to have fun in end game content.
