- My wife and I’s reaction to the Pedal Commander in our 2019 Toyota Tundra!
Here’s the link for everything I’ve put on my 2019 Tundra Build! Check it out if you’d like!

i got one for my 2015 civic 1.8 with the cvt. it is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and eliminates ANY lag the cvt had before slinking to the next "size" on the belt "shifting" gears. it is fantastic! GET ONEEE
Thank you for this video! I’ve been on the fence about getting one. I like how you described, and showed us how it reacts. I’m getting 1 for my Avalanche
Mustang joke got me 😂😂
You have to hold down the traction control 3 times to completely turn it off. Should spin then
Yes I just learned this and made a video on it! Sorry I didn’t see your comment until now... it would have been so helpful! Lol
Pedal commander with tow haul on equals big smiles
Hahaha so true!!!
you guys both cute eachother. thanks for the review
Aww thank you!
Banks Power made one of these for several vehicles, and after commenting on their reveal vid, they said they are working on a version for the Tundras. I'd definitely be interested in one of his as their engineering is top notch on their products, and you have the Banks seal of approval that it's going to work. Only downside is they aren't afraid to price that prowess power, as last I looked, a similar model for like a Chevy or whatever was ~600 bones. Ouch!
Did you get one? If so, thoughts?
@@rustymacshackleford6276 I remember looking them up again when I got the notification that they finally released and recall reading good things, but I haven't got one for myself. If you have an old cell phone that is compatible with their program, you can save quite a few pennies and get the $300 option that doesn't include the stand-alone gauge. I would still feel more comfortable sinking that into a Banks product versus something like a Bullydog for whatever it's worth.
Just ordered mine today on Amazon really excited now
It's so great I leave it in city everyday!
Awesome video! Looking at getting one. I have a tuner and a tune but took it off. I still have a ext warranty and these are a good way around warranty stuff. They can see tunes but not these since these don’t flash your computer. And I know these do not add power but the throttle response (dead zone) is what kills my 14’ 5.0 f150. So this looks like it will help.
My 07 tundra is extremely touchy so I actually bought this for ECO mode so the acceleration is smoother and slower. Idk if my tundra is the only one like this.
That’s super interesting! I haven’t heard that for others but I’m glad it helped you out regardless! Thanks for commenting!
My 10 is the same way. My 16 is not. Weird
Mine is
Million dollar question is did the wife approve it? Yes? Then we have a winner
it is interesting how long the transmission will be able to survive this stop and go style of driving?
Idk what to think about the Pedal Commander. My 2019 has too much low end torque as it is. It'll do burnouts like it's no effort and the damn thing chirps in the first three gears all over town, which I'm convinced is gonna get me in trouble sooner or later!
Haha yeah I get that! I really like mine. I wasn’t sure if I needed it since the acceleration was fine, but if I turn it off now it feels so sluggish on the throttle response. I run my pedal commander on city most of the time and sometimes when I hit some bumpy roads and my foot comes off and back on the accelerator the truck really puts you back against the seat! Hope you don’t get into too much trouble!
@@kccreations5945 after watching how much difference it makes in your truck I remembered mine does have a little delay sometimes. Almost like a turbo winds up and builds air pressure then the motor really revs up only there's no turbocharger under my hood.
@@fz1000red Yeah it really does seem like that. I didn't really notice before I had it, but now that I do when I turn it off it feels insanely unresponsive when I press the gas. So it's a definite improvement I would say! Also I'm sure we could figure out a way to get a turbo under the hood if we tried hard enough! lol Wouldn't that be nuts!?
@@SeanChandlerSF I totally agree! I run mine on city 0 and really like that! I totally forget about the Bluetooth option lol I really enjoy mine! Thanks for your comment
Thanks for the video!
Add a Bully Dog GT tuner in combination with that pedal commander. That would be awesome.
That would be awesome!!
Have you tried pushing the Tow Haul with the pedal commander? It's like an amplifier for an already OP product.
yep night and day difference. i have never owned a truck where it actually worked like in the tundra. Its works on this truck!
You really want it to come alive just add a Supercharger. Best money I've ever spent
That would be super cool! How much is it??
@@kccreations5945 Installed and programed cost me $9500 at dealership
@@kccreations5945 500HP 500 ft lbs Torque
I have an 07 and my throttle feels like sport + all the time. I thought about buying the Pedal Commander to tone it down some.
Hahaha that’s crazy! Not a super bad problem to have. But maybe worth it!
@@kccreations5945 Hey man will this work on my 06 Tacoma?
Does is deepen the throttle muffler sound?
Im looking for a deeper sound throttle, i have to resonators with no muffler and is as deep sounding as it gets because of V6 engine. However, I want the commander pedal for take off speed but i was also thinking about a Tuner, will that mimic a V8 sound to some degree?
Take off speed and sound are my final 2 things i want to do to my truck
Any advice???
@@jesusdabess hey man! I don’t think the commander will specifically increase sound because all it does is change your throttle response. Which of you put it in the sport setting which allows you to take off a lot faster then your truck would be louder since you are giving it more throttle. But it doesn’t change the sound on its own. But in terms of take of speed it definitely does that. It really changes the acceleration characteristics a lot of you want it to! Hope that helps! You would need to find a commander that fits your Tacoma though because they aren’t all universal I don’t think.
@@kccreations5945 Ok thanks a lot
Same here with an 07. I was beginning to wonder if the previous owner had chipped the truck or something as it'll spin 35s with ease in Nanny Off mode and is pretty touchy at the line, like I have to creep on the gas when the lights go green. =)
I had one of these and after living with it for a few years I came to the conclusion I’d never own one again. It’s ok for fuel economy in eco mode but sport mode just remaps the throttle settings and shock loads the sh*t out of your driveline. If you’re ok with that, then have at it. But if you plan on keeping your ride, then I’d use the sport mode sparingly…
Save yourself some money and just push the Tow/Haul Ass fun button.
That does give you some power for sure but this is a whole different ball game!
Thanks for the review. Bought one about a month ago for my 2020 and I like it for sure. City plus 4 is my happy spot around town. Slamming the pedal as some people say does not match what the PC does off the line. Also tow haul mode is okay but the shift points suck for city driving in my opinion.
I’m glad you like it! Yeah tow haul mode is pretty cool. I’ve used it a few times with my little Jon boat. How’s the 2020 treating you? I really wish I had apple CarPlay!
@@kccreations5945 I’ve been happy with the truck overall. Apple car play is nice, I wish it was Bluetooth though.
@@TristanTris321GoT Yeah I understand that for sure, but at least your phone stays charged! When I use my maps it drains my battery so plugging it in is a necessity!
Howdy you posted this a year ago. Do you have any info on better MPG’s?
You have any 0-60 times before and after??
Do you still have it?
Hey bro!! Would you buy the device again? I have the same truck/color!!!
Man you have good taste then! It's hard to say. It's $300 which is a lot, but I use it everyday on City mode and it does make the truck a lot more responsive which I love! I think if I never had it I wouldn't think I needed it. But after having it it's really weird to drive without it on. So I guess I would but it wouldn't be my top mod!
what did you find out about ECO mode? Any better fuel mileage??
Hey John! I have a video on MPG with the pedal commander! Let me know what you think after watching that!
Does the pc help with the power loss/gear hunting that you get after putting 35s on the truck?
It doesn’t give you more power but it feels like it since you have more responsive throttle immediately!
I’ve watched this video 3 times already, I love this video lol. How is the Pedal Commander holding up? Any check engine lights?
Hahaha so glad Man! Yes it still works great and I use it on city 1! No issues with it or lights at all. I have been running it the past couple days in normal mode to see if my MPG’s get any better but that’s to be determined! Lol
@@kccreations5945 lol thanks for the info 😎
🤔🙂 👍👊 can you send me the information power sports and The sway bar please l got a Tundra love your video 📹 👏
Hey man congrats on the truck! What are you wanting exactly??
@@kccreations5945 l look for more power for my 2007 tundra 4.7 like you got thanks
Do you still have it and how is it working
Yes I do and it still works great! I drive with it in city mode every day!
Did you lay any rubber in 4?
It Chirped a little! I thought I had turned off traction control but I had not held down the button for 3 seconds so it was not completely off!
My dude. You wasted your money for nothing. Just turn on the how/haul mode. Same thing.
These do absolutely nothing but fool the truck into thinking the pedal has been pushed further than it has. It's just a gimmick, a simple voltage modifier for the gas pedal signal is all it is.
So I’d say it accomplishes its goal.
Exactly. It’s pretty much snake oil.
It should be "My wife's and my reaction." Grammar please!
Ok
