Such a good MMO. The music always brings me back. I played from 1999 until after Luclin came out. Then I moved into my own apartment and life took over kind of thing. That map of The Hole reminds me of how awesome EQ dungeons were. First person, so there weren't giant spaces needed for a third-person camera. It was claustrophobic at times. It got dark. Really dark (especially if Human or Erudite) . Labyrinthine zones. MMOs just aren't like that anymore. It's all a theme park post-EQ. Loved Neriak too. My Erudite Mage was warmly there. I would sometimes solo EXP off a troll that gave me Neriak factions. So many zones, like Neriak, have an atmosphere that made EQ feel like a real world to live in instead of being engineered for content delivery gameplay loops.
A friend I played with actually went through the process and became a EQ guide with the sole purpose to see where the locked fire pot in Neriak went. The first thing he did when he got the position was head to 3rd gate. We were excited to see it went to lfay! We were die hard about 3rd gate mysteries, this brings back all that fun lore!
Thank you so much for this content. I stumbled upon your channel recently and absolutely fell in love with this type of video you create. The amount of effort you put in to these videos is wonderful and it gives Everquest a fresh feel that I have desperately been searching for. The nostalgia paired with your witty comedy made me instantly fall in love. Keep doing what you're doing man because you're doing a damn good job!
You are a true chronicler of EQ. Please make more of anything about the history! The editing and delivery is so pleasant and professional - your work is incredible. Such a treat to enjoy! Thank you so much for sharing these. It warms my heart.
This is amazing! I was obsessed with the locked pot in neriak back in the day. I started playing right before og kunark and heard rumors of it being a portal. I also tried picking it with 0 luck. Nice to know p99 has a server where they still work and it's not just all a crazy conspiracy theory fairy tale.
I love love love these videos. This is coming from someone who started playing eq 2 months after its launch. Back then I didn't explore too much because death was a serious drag. Thank you for this great content.
Well now in that area of Neriak around that archway is Neriak's fourth gate. At any rate I didn't know about the lore you presented here, thank you for it!
i have never played everquest, i only watched how my big brother played and i think this video is amazing despite me not knowing anything about this game
I always felt like I knew a lot about EQ lore, but I knew nothing about this subject. Thank you for bringing obscure things from an 18 year old game to the light. It warms my heart to know that so many other people still care about this game all these years later.
glad you enjoyed it! I never knew about this stuff either - it never ceases to amaze me, what you can find, if you take the time to look. I feel like anyone who has played this game will never forget it
Still have the strategy guide from the first minute proudly displayed on my bookcase. I love the way players of each class weighed in on their classes and the classic style maps for each city. A treasure (mine is the Kunark version).
I love your videos... these lore videos truly show off the epicness of EverQuest. It's not the corpse runs or the lost XP that makes EQ so great, it's the lore, secrets and stories around every corner!
These are seriously some of the best Everquest videos I have ever seen, they seriously bring me back to when I was a kid exploring this stuff for the first time. I spent so many countless hours (days) in this game and still have found memories that I talk with friends about to this day, PLEASE keep making these! The videos have also inspired me to pick back up on Project 1999 again, be cool to see you in game!
Yes please these mysteries.... are just so damn mysterious. I CANT HANDLE THE FUCKING MYSTERIES ARGGGHHHH. And by cant handle I mean make many, many more.
Great vids! I'd like to see more that focus on the lore of famous NPCs like Miragul in this one. Mayong Mistmoore, Antonius Bayle, Kerafyrm, Sir Lucan D'lere, the list goes on!
Love the narration and the sheer awe you inject into your videos regarding such a deep game than most people want to realize!! Keep them rolling and thanks for being the inquisitive crazy sleuth you are!
Fantastic!!! Your videos are amazing. I love learning more about EQ's lore, and with some entertainment and awesome editing to boot. Well done, can't wait for the next one
These are my favorite UA-cam videos. I want to hijack a movie theatre and play them on the screen. 99.9% of people will be confused, yet entertained. The other .1%? "Oh yeah, I have a friend who used to play that game."
Your editing game is making big steps forward with each upload, these are awesome. I totally forgot about those firepot teleports forever ago when they worked on live
It is clear you put in a lot of effort to make this video. Your editing skills are amazing and I probably speak for many people in saying we appreciate all the effort to make these great videos. Hope to see more.
The "secret zone" next to the firepot in Neriak was originally intended to lead to a Neriak Palace, but the zone got cut, so they closed off the entrance. Cheers, Rp
Absolutley love how you remind me of Captain Dissolution and your bringing back great memories from EQ. I would love a video covering all the giant weird named stuff. Me and my friends loved to have mock raids on The Reishicyben!!! I would love even something odd like weird discussions on what camps were called or maybe what acronyms were common.
These videos are great! I love EQ lore, and even though I don't have time for the game anymore, these videos fill me with the fix of evercrack to get me by. Thank you very much!
I walked past there the other day to film some stuff and people were gathering to kill him! So naturally I tagged along lol - The pally looted his robe! I think?
Miragul's Lich mentioned in that lore tidbit or some other NPC? Speaking of this its making me wonder about the lore/story stuff happening with each class epic. I was a druid back in the day and at the time kid me was just following some poorly written guide of "say this to X npc, deliver item to Y npc..." It would be cool to know exactly why I needed to get some grocery list or what the deal with that skeleton you give the painting to in the mountains lol
Always makes my day when I see one of your videos spawn in my sub box. When you make better content then the creators of the content your making content about.
I'm sorry they take so long to make. I recorded the voiceover for this on march 11th, so it's actually the quickest eq vid I've ever made, but to everyone else it's been like, 5 months since the last one : ( The next couple will be shorter so they should be done quicker, that being said I'm always finding more things I wanna do and make that aren't eq related
Hey man, i probably sounded more impatient than i meant to. you do great content and i didnt mean to sound like an entitled whiny baby boomer. you get that content out when you can and I'll patiently wait for it.
awww well now I feel worse lol i didn't take any offense from your comment or anything it's just that, I never thought I'd be in this position, where people actually want to see the things I make, so I'm really disappointed that people have to wait so long for a new video, I dunno... it just really bothers me I guess - im just ranting and venting at this point lol BUT it has nothing to do with you, it's a me problem : D - thank you for taking the time to let me know that you like these videos, it means a lot to me.
Miragul's Highway is the cave through the water in northern Permafrost. It is also where the necromancer class event for "An Epic Request" takes place. A necromancer who is on the quest walks up to it and it activates an event. That is either his portal or his tomb. His house is further back in the cave system. During the event, the necromancer must go around by himself and save at least half of the runes from being destroyed. The runes are feeding their power to the portal/tomb room. Each of the 6ish runes are a mini-event.
I was thinking of doing a blooper video, voiceover outtakes and such, dunno if that'd be interesting or not, i was lucky enough to have a camera man and a fellow adventurer in this case : D
I love that idea! Holler at me in game if you ever need help with a video. My game name is sluggs. I met you in innothule swamp a month or 2 ago actually. Was the highlight of my day!
You should investigate the never solved quest with the wood elf captive/stripper in Neriak.Way back in the early days, there was a working quest line but an npc was removed.I don't think anyone ever solved it :( Loved this video!
Do you mean the half elf maiden? That one was solved a while back, unless there's another captive elf-trafficking victim in the game. She was moved to Cabilis after Haggle Baron won her somehow.

I totally agree with you :) This effort should be rewarded!
You are a true chronicler of EQ. Please make more of anything about the history! The editing and delivery is so pleasant and professional - your work is incredible. Such a treat to enjoy! Thank you so much for sharing these. It warms my heart.
Wish there were more of these. So great to be entertained while I'm grinding xp.
This is amazing! I was obsessed with the locked pot in neriak back in the day. I started playing right before og kunark and heard rumors of it being a portal. I also tried picking it with 0 luck. Nice to know p99 has a server where they still work and it's not just all a crazy conspiracy theory fairy tale.
the effort put into this video is golden.
I love love love these videos. This is coming from someone who started playing eq 2 months after its launch. Back then I didn't explore too much because death was a serious drag. Thank you for this great content.
Michael, I love you.
P.S. I love that shot at 2:00 and how you had the exact same angle. Great work! Small things go a long way. ;)
ty! I love having the freedom to play director in EQ, but at the same time the camera is complete garbage and makes shots like that really tough : D
You are a true blessing and Hero to all of Norrath.
Michael, your dedication to these videos is really wonderful. I love the FX, art, narration, everything. Thank you for making these!
The mystery of the locked firepot in Neriak has haunted me for years! You are a gem my friend!
I remember when my Barbarian friend came all the way from Halas to visit me in Kelethin and then he couldn't fit through the bank door.
Well now in that area of Neriak around that archway is Neriak's fourth gate. At any rate I didn't know about the lore you presented here, thank you for it!
Dude. Excuse my language but i fucking love these videos. Thank you.
Well this made my night, can't wait for the next one!
excellent return to form! can't wait for more as always.
thanks man! I promise there will be more, but when I cannot say
As I'm sure you can tell by the other posts!!! Super much love for these videos.
Can't wait for the Xorbb vid!!!
I enjoy your Everquest videos so much. Please don't stop making them.
As someone who never played EQ, these are super interesting. Thanks!
i have never played everquest, i only watched how my big brother played and i think this video is amazing despite me not knowing anything about this game
I always felt like I knew a lot about EQ lore, but I knew nothing about this subject. Thank you for bringing obscure things from an 18 year old game to the light. It warms my heart to know that so many other people still care about this game all these years later.

My girlfriend showed me your videos and you are literally the reason I started playing this game (P99)! Never change, you are a god!
Best videos on youtube!
Still have the strategy guide from the first minute proudly displayed on my bookcase. I love the way players of each class weighed in on their classes and the classic style maps for each city. A treasure (mine is the Kunark version).
You..you can teleport with those?! I never knew that ever..Also, so happy to see more EQ mysteries, love this series
Your vids are exactly what would happen if RLM (mr plinkett) talked about EQ. the editing style and humor are almost identical. I like it
I love your videos... these lore videos truly show off the epicness of EverQuest. It's not the corpse runs or the lost XP that makes EQ so great, it's the lore, secrets and stories around every corner!
This guy is such a legend i look forward to his eq videos more than any other youtube vids!.. :) thx michael
EQ best game forever
These are seriously some of the best Everquest videos I have ever seen, they seriously bring me back to when I was a kid exploring this stuff for the first time. Nice video! I really like learning about all the things in Everquest I missed. It has a lot of cool lore and ideas. Great editing too! Keep it up!
These are my favorite UA-cam videos. I want to hijack a movie theatre and play them on the screen. 99.9% of people will be confused, yet entertained. The other .1%? "Oh yeah, I have a friend who used to play that game."
Excellent videos, can't wait to watch more. Thanks for your efforts in creating them.
I got so excited when I saw you had a new video up, thanks man!
Your editing game is making big steps forward with each upload, these are awesome. I totally forgot about those firepot teleports forever ago when they worked on live

These Everquest videos are amazing! Please keep them up!
Fascinating and hilarious as usual. I seriously love your videos so much thank you!!!!!!

These videos are the bee's pajamas. Keep 'em coming, please!
absolutely brilliant, thank you! p.s 3 dislikes are from abandoned pets I think...
The "secret zone" next to the firepot in Neriak was originally intended to lead to a Neriak Palace, but the zone got cut, so they closed off the entrance.

Rp

i don't even understand how that's possible but thank you!
Something about the game is so alluring, I watch EQ videos all the time. I just can't find a torrent of Titanium edition to play p99
LoudSoda pirste bay still there use a vpn if u wanna feel more secure
No seriously like, i love these. please. make a lot more
Please continue making content like this. I love Eq and there are still so many mysteries about it that I never knew. P99 4 ever!
I vaguely remember having to go to Miragul's caves for the paladin epic but it's been so many years that I can't recall why.
I walked past there the other day to film some stuff and people were gathering to kill him! So naturally I tagged along lol - The pally looted his robe! I think?

Pras be, a new video from you, to me.
Ive been to the zone that you show at the end! It's off of Runneyeye! I totally forgot about that place. CRAZY!
Always makes my day when I see one of your videos spawn in my sub box. When you make better content then the creators of the content your making content about.
What;s this rare surprise in my sub box? why it's a shenanigan video!

Love this video!, i hope we dont have to wait another several months for part 2!
I'm sorry they take so long to make. I loved your other EQ videos and glad your doing more
You are my favorite part of UA-cam. God bless you and EverQuest.
Love your videos man, thank you. please make more!!
I've never played everquest in my life and I enjoyed this video quite a lot!
thanks! I still don't understand how anyone who hasn't played can get anything out of all these weird nouns and poorly textured polygons lol
I like fantasy stuff so I mostly follow, plus you have a great personality!
New EQ Lore Video, Jackpot!!

As a fan of EQ, these videos fuckin' own. Thanks.
Dude your videos are awesome! And so professional. Keep it up man!
Fascinating! Great stuff as always.
You answered my question, I ran into the KoS dude in the tunnels :D
you had better damned well make more than just seven of these.
If you haven't thought about making a Patreon page for more videos like these... maybe you should consider it!
Great work! Can't wait for the next one :)
Another fantastic video. Love the blooper reel at the end. :D
I remember!... I think....lol are you a monk?!.... enchanter? hmm maybe my memory is garbage
I am a monk. Good memory! That was quite a while ago. I think i was level 18 at the time. Im a big bad level 40 now. Rawr!
ooo you'll pass my prestigious level of 49 in no time! now to really roll the dice - human female monk? ( could my memory be better than I thought?! )
Keep it up man. Really love your videos!
Another awesome vid man keep em coming!
You should investigate the never solved quest with the wood elf captive/stripper in Neriak.Way back in the early days, there was a working quest line but an npc was removed.I don't think anyone ever solved it :(
Loved this video!
Do you mean the half elf maiden? That one was solved a while back, unless there's another captive elf-trafficking victim in the game. She was moved to Cabilis after Haggle Baron won her somehow.
This is great. I wish they had left them in. I have no idea why they disabled it.
You're my hero
I can't spend time playing EQ. You gotta stop being so good at making videos! :P Everyone keeps making me want to come back.
Great job as always.
ty!
perhaps my videos can act as a substitute for playing : p
You just stay on P99 right? Not interested in trying Agnarr?
correct
Legen...wait for it...dary! This was great!
