Even with the correct tension set you can get a bird's nest if you don't hang onto your thread ends when you start sewing! I have 3 Kenmore machines so I have experience with that!
My take up lever is not like this one. Have to thread just like your needle. I bought mine for $60. That was including the cabinet. Had about 2 hours of sewing time. Lovely machine.
How do I re-install the shuttle? I took it out, as the thread was messed up. I know how to put the cover on, it is the shuttle that I am having problems with. Can't find my manual. When you roll the needle down, it does not circle all the way..should it? It does not catch the bottom thread, Thanks!

Well if you had actually filmed the part I needed to watch, I wouldn't have wasted 10 minutes of life I'll never get back. Here's a helpful hint; when doing an institutional video it's sometimes good to actually show each step to whatever it is you're teaching. That way new students like myself don't get frustrated and have to find a video they actually show how to thread the needle. Thanks anyway.
