  • In this video, we're traveling to Bulgaria to explore the hidden treasures of Vidin. This underrated border town has a lot to offer travelers, from stunning views over the Danube to a charming old town.
So whether you're looking for things to do in Vidin or just want to check out a beautiful border town, this video is for you! Along the way, we'll explore the beautiful Baba Vida Fortress, discover the history of the city and take some amazing photos. All of this is possible through the easy-to-use guide Vidin travel guide. It's a mobile app that lets you explore cities at your own pace, gives you just the right information or story about the place, and takes you off the beaten path when you're visiting a city for the first time.
This Vidin tour exists on the Questo app (available on Android and iOS), and it's like having a guide with you at all times while also having some fun. To make things interesting and get you to the main spots in the city, the tour is somewhat of a scavenger hunt, giving you clues and asking for answers before it gives you the stories of the places you're seeing. If this sounds interesting to you, I bet you will have a lot of fun!
!! Please note that the tour costs around 5 Euros (one device), but you can play in a group and split the costs. It's much cheaper than a live tour would cost and you may explore at your own pace!

Vidin and the Bulgarian Danube towns used to be quite prosperous especially in the XXIX century as we used trade with Central Europe via the Danube. The infrastructure of the towns is also different especially if you visit Ruse having a more Viennese style of architecture in the downtown area. Sadly, Vidin and the region has now become one of the depopulated regions due to the lack of economic activity and also connectivity. The synagogue you passed by is actually the second largest one after the one in downtown Sofia. Although Bulgaria was historically a Nazi Germany ally, it still managed to save around 50 thousand Jews.

Criminals who want to migrate to Western countries and pass through Bulgaria illegally are caught and arrested. Those are the rules.
