  • Tallinn in summer is wonderful. The seaside terraces come alive, the viewing platforms are open, the days are long and the nights are bright. Tallinn has FOUR distinct neighbourhoods that you should check out. In each area, I highlight museums, viewing platforms and delicious food spots that you can visit. This is a complete guide on how to enjoy summer in Tallinn like a local.

    Thank you for the tour of Tallinn. My wife and I visited this charming city one year ago. We were visiting friends in Sweden who wanted to take us to Tallinn. I was kind of curious as to why Estonia? I always thought it was some old forgotten, neglected country digging out from the former Soviet occupation. I am so glad we went because I found this place amazing!!! People were friendly (I cannot emphasize that enough), Tons of history. Easy going, laid back. We loved it. I want to go back and explore it much more. I love this place!

    Great video - brought back some good memories from our visit a couple of years ago. Tallinn really should be visited by more people - loads of history, very friendly people and so easy to walk around.

    Brilliant video- one of the best (if not the best) travel videos I’ve ever seen. I love how you picked 4 areas of Tallinn and centered it all around them, rather than centering everything about inidvidual sights. Amazing!

    Visited Tallinn last april, before the most of the tourist came. Immediately fell deeply in love with this beautiful country, its wonderful city and the people. All your tips in videos before this one helped me out a lot to find my way around.
    Is it possible to feel homesick for a country/city that isn't yours 🤔 everytime I see a video about Estonia/Tallinn it feels like someone punched me in the stomach 🙄😕❣
    I certainly have to come more often to this amazing city 🇪🇪❤

    I will be in Tallinn on a Sunday but worried that lots of places will be shut, I want to go to the creative city as I have done the Old town. I am in a wheelchair, but it seems most places have stairs to get to rooftop bars.

      Sunday in Tallinn is better than Monday :). Most museums, cafes, bars and restaurants will be open.
      In Telliskivi You can check out the Fotografiska photography museum and gallery. If you haven't been to Niguliste Museum, I also recommend that. They now have an elevator that can take you to the church tower for lovely Old Town views.

    Hi! Great Video! Can you go up the town wall with dogs? 😊

    • @VisitTallinn
      @VisitTallinn  3 місяці тому

      I wouldn't guarantee that. The metal steps are quite uncomfortable for dogs and narrow in some places. It's best to check with the spot directly though.

    Hi thank you for this, its really helpful
    I would like to ask, what time do the shops open and what time do they close?
    We are going there in July for a day

    • @VisitTallinn
      @VisitTallinn  3 місяці тому

      most shops open around 9 or 10 and close around 18 to 20. Larger grocery stores stay open until 10 or 11.

    • @VisitTallinn
      @VisitTallinn  8 місяців тому +1

      If you just want to see Tallinn then 3 to 4 days, but if you want to see rest of Estonia, you can easily fill up a week.

    did these places close on non-summer? not good video...

    • @VisitTallinn
      @VisitTallinn  3 місяці тому

      Not at all, most places are open throughout the year. Church towers (St Olav's church tower) do close however as it is not safe up there with snow and ice. Kiek in the Kök is closed currently due to renovation works (opening in late spring). All the rest on the list is open and welcoming visitors.

    Don’t come to Tallinn this summer. Roads have been dug up.
    Go to Tartu or Narva or Haapsalu or Pärnu.

    • @VisitTallinn
      @VisitTallinn  8 днів тому

      Bad advice... Alternatively, people should not go to Helsinki, London or any city doing road works. The scale of road works and developments in Tallinn is nothing special. Main interest spots for tourists are still accessible and open. In fact, there are actually renewed areas waiting to be discovered like Vana-Kalamaja street, Pirita beach rest area etc.
