When speaking to a Philippines Ambassador back in 2019 - he outlined a range of changes to strengthen the visa requiremrnts. However, due to COVID this was put on hold. It is good that the Philippines is strengthening its position to protect the country and its people. It is a shame that other countries do not do this. Sadly some nationalities have lost out due to fears and abuses by other nationalities. Finally any criticism of the process for the Philippines is negligible compared to trying to get a visa to visit or relocate to other countries - even when married to a resident of that country. Long live the Philippines, its people and the country - you will always have my support.

The process for Tourist visas are as follows. 1. Once in the Philippines you can renew but only in 2 month segments - unless special circumstances apply and this is only considered if you apply at the head office in Intramuros. 2. After 3 years or renewals you must leave the country and then return to start the process again. Many visit nearby countries for a brief stay or even just to return on the next flight. A tourist visa is not the cheapest method for long term plans to stay - so if possible consider the 13a or SRRV.

I think existing holders of 13A (marriage) visa will not be affected by the upcoming New Philippine Immigration Law. No changes are expected for ACR cards also, as the issuance of ACR cards are in accordance with the Philippine Alien Registration Law.

Just get a throw away onward ticket for $15 at Nomandic Fire . You were required to get a return ticket OR a forward ticket Never just a return ticket .

Sir I am in the Philippines with my Filipina wife ,I am American. You must have your marriage license and your wifes Filipino birth certificate. They will give you the Balikbayan visa automatically( at least that's what the guy at the airport told me when going through customs.) Really simple process, takes only a few minutes. If you have children you will,of course, need their birth certificates. They will stamp your passport for one year. And in just a few minutes you'll be on your way. No need for return ticket. We have been here since November so I'm sure we share some of the same concerns , but upon entry I found the process quite easy and stress free. Make sure your papers are originals or certified copies....

She moved to the States and got her citizenship. So upon our arrival to the Philippines she of course, had balikbayan privileges, but they are extended to the spouse and children of the balikbayan.
Just a little confused here with the 59 day rule I am from a visa required nation - had a onward ticket within 59 days but have extended my VISA now. So do I need to leave PHILIPPINES after 59 days since my extension is already approved.

Since your visa extension is already approved, you can stay in the Philippines even after 59 days.
