In Australia, "It's a long way to the shop if you wanna sausage roll"...said every school boy ever !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

And most adults still do!

Bagpipes in heavy rock, only AC/DC could pull that off! RIP Malcolm...🙏
Scotch on the Rocks!
I never knew there were two videos for that song. I'm used to the one on the back of a traveling flatbed truck. Amazing to see how small of a crowd was there now knowing how huge their concerts are. Those people were not prepared for the future stardom in front of them.
There is also one from TV show Top of the Pops
There is also a video of them playing with girls dancing in the background.
@@ursanator That's a great video.
Yeah people have started reacting to this one, I wasn't aware of this either. The Swanston Street one is best, the classic clip. I think they filmed the second clip on the same day for Countdown.
@@arconeagain This clip is also filmed in Swanston St.Melbourne it is at the then City Square between Collins St and Flinders lane.
Bon Scott and Angus and Malcolm Young were born in Scotland
And all, raised in Australia and consider themselves to be Australian, which is why Malcolm came home to die.
Brian Johnson too!
@@ICU2B4UDO geordie
@@ICU2B4UDO Nope, Brian Johnson is English, He's from Dunston, In the North East of England, Which is near Gateshead and Newcastle, He was born on October 5th 1947 and is 76 years old, He now lives in Florida He still fronts AC/ DC to this very day 😀😀🤘🤘
Once a Jock, always a Jock.
Finally, somebody brought up all the AC/DC when it was raw and they just got started
I wish Bon Scott had lived longer. What a crazy ass showman he was.
"Why is he holding bagpipes?" Best comment ever!! 😊
When you don’t know you don’t know!!!! His face was priceless when the pipes kicked in!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😎🍸
Malcolm Young had this song played at his funeral. Many of those original pipers in the video were still living and gladly performed the song at Malcolm's request. He also had the song Waltzing Matilda played at his funeral as it was his favorite song. Bon's hometown has a statue of him there, and he's holding bagpipes. His father was a piper too. 💔🕊🕯🙏
The ultimate no BS band, they got dozens like this
But Bon Scott was their lead singer
@@NoahBarzelbut not the original singer 🗣️
Never heard a band that made more of the A.. D. E. G... chord and a simple kick drum snare drum pattern never a drum fill than these guys. My very first concert Dec 6 1981 Brendan Byrne Arena East Rutherford NJ
bonnie scott playing bagpipes!! what's to not like?
@@BigDaddy115yes he was, and, i was in the city the day this was recorded. RIP Bon 🌹
That’s my wife’s cousin playing bagpipes in sunny Melbourne that day. He’s the shorter piper. After this recording they jumped on the back of a tray truck and recorded the better known version driving through Melbourne’s CBD with the screaming girls following.
Asks why is he holding bagpipes, gets answer 5 seconds later. Loved the reaction.
I'm a Bon fan and the early stuff is the best And this is my favorite song.. Rock and Roll Bagpipes
Epic combo!
R.I.P. Bon Scott. You are STILL sorely missed.
Bon Scott could rock your socks off. RIP!!! This was and always will be the quintessential AC/DC line up and the best song the band ever did.
I agree with you 100%! Just fricking amazing, and just took off after they got Bon!
"It's A Long Way To The Top" really summed us up as a band," Angus Young told Rolling Stone. It was the audience that really allowed us to even get near a studio.
bon should have had no difficulty playing bagpipes as he is a scott!!!
very early ac/dc when angus looked like a school boy and still had his school bag!

Omg you played the rare second shoot of this video. The most iconic version is on the back of a truck down Swanston Street in Melbourne, Australia
They are the first band to ever incorporate the Bagpipes into a Rock Song. And it so works.
Paul McCartney tried bagpipes in “Mull of Kintyre” (1977) after he’d heard this. Beatles always wanted to use bagpipes but could never find the right use for them. This is the first successful use of bagpipes in rock…and I can’t think of any others. (“Mull of Kintyre” is hardly rock.)
This has always been my favorite AC/DC song. R.I.P. BON SCOTT.
He's holding Bag Pipes because he is from Bonnie SCOTLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of them are from Scotland, originally.
Dualling guitar and bagpipes never happening again 😂😂❤❤

AC/DC legitimately have 50+ songs that can be considered BANGERS.
Genuinely, if a random 80s band was founded and wrote their 50th best song, it would be considered a one hit wonder. There's so many good ones hidden away that you can keep going for years.
My favourite recent find was the song Bad Boy Boogie, with one of the most catchy riffs I've heard in years!
I love them, but there is a little bit of truth to the old charge of "if you've heard one of their songs, you've heard them all". (some exceptions may apply)
Yeah I agree, but I love them all the same. There's been a couple of times I've been singing one song to myself and ended up seamlessly transitioning between 3 or even 4 of there others without much issue 😂
AC/DC is a 70s band. This song was released in 1975.
What '80s band you talking about? AC/DC's 1st lp was released in 1975. This song happened to be on it😐
The bagpipes were introduced by George Young. Producer and older brother to Malcolm and Angus. RIP George Young.
Ah, yes, AC/DC's first real hit... this aptly-named song, originally only released in their home nation of Aussie but later released worldwide, launched a legend that would eventually go on to last 6+ decades. This was Bon Scott's favourite song, and when he sadly was lost, the band agreed never to play this song live again, another way to honour the legacy of their bandmate.
Close but Baby Please Don't Go And High Voltage in 1975 were the first hits
Thanks for reminding me of the origin story. I remember this coming out. T.N.T. Phil and Sam have forgotten that they know AC/DC came out of Australia. They've had to absorb a lot in one year. Gotta love 'em
Well they sure had a funny way of honoring Bon by ripping off his lyrics to the BnB lp claiming B. Johnson wrote them when a simple analysis of Bon and Brian's writing styles and life experiences easily weighs heavily to Bon Scott writing Back in Black, Shook me All Night Long, and all the rest of that album. It wouldn't matter much but BnB was their biggest selling record by far and the royalties writing the songs would've gone to Bon Scott's Widow and children in Australia. As it turned out they got nothing.
RIP Bon Scott and Malcolm Young
@@plantfeeder6677 I'm assuming you have some evidence for the claim that BJ ripped of Bon's lyrics. It will be quite a story if you can prove it as no one else has. Quite a claim also given that a few of the songs have lyrics that relate to events following Bon's death and Bon died only a week after the band started writing the music for BiB,
@@peterflynn2111 Their first Number 1 albeit in Perth WA was Can I sit next to you girl with Dave Evans as lead singer.
Malcolm’s no-nonsense, pile-driving rhythm keeps that groove going. Easily one of my favorite rhythm players.
RIP Bon, you shall keep rocking in the heavens. He's the only one that made bagpipes look so rock n roll! 😛🤘🏻
An epic song and only about 50 people hung out to hear the song. We are grandparents now but dang we had fun
I'm in my mid 50's and old enough to be a grandparent, and I never thought I'd say it but, Grandparents do ROCK!!
Got to check out their bluesy side with the classic "Ride On"
One of my favs!
Absolutely loved Ride On, amazing song!!😀😀🤘🤘
Written by Bon Scott himself 😀😀
Rock In Peace, Bon 🙏🙏
Big Hi from Scotland 🏴 🏴
fr fr, that's indeed a gem. 👍🏻
The lyrics, and Scott's delivery are insane fire.
And I think this is the only song that says, "So... you wanna be a rock star? Let me share some truth."
Best Australian band ever ! Started in Sydney Australia, that was filmed on Melbourne Australia. Yes Scottish heritage in two members !
On the bagpipes, Bon told George Young (Malcolm's and Angus's older brother and AC/DC producer) that he'd been in a Highland pipe band. When they said they wanted him to play the pipes, he said he couldn't. George said, "But you said you were in a pipe band," to which Bon replied, "Yeah, but I played the DRUM!" 😂
“Its a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll” that's how we sing it in Australia 🇦🇺
AC/DC is the first rock band to ever use bagpipes in a song. And this is the first song.
I like the sound of bagpipes especially AMAZING GRACE being played it's just so hauntingly beautiful to hear
Greatest groove in R&R history... ACDC gave no f's with about as straight forward in your face rock and roll as you'll ever see.
They were influenced by Humble Pie...As was Lynyrd Skynyrd
Yep, the bagpipes. It really is a stand out in this song.
Ahhh, memories of my youth and all the concerts I went to. 61yo and I still do my housework to acca dacca .
the three pipers who appear on the film clip are Les Kenfield, Kevin Conlon and Alan Butterworth. On the actual recording of the tune was Band piper Charlie Williams as Bon Scott could not play the bagpipes. They are from the "Rats of Tobruk" memorial pipe and drum band
Nice extra info, I live near Rats of Tobruk house
So glad to have grown up in Australia and was school when accadacca first started in the ‘70’s and listened to them my whole life over and over and over ….
The video is like their music. Simple, no frills, and awesome.
I didn't know this video existed. The main one is them on a moving vehicle.
Yes, Bon DID play in scots band as a youngster, but not the bagpipes. He got volunteered to do the solo and learnt the bagpipes for it.
Yep he was volun-told. lol
He begged to learn them from a friend, borrowed the pipes, they had bought some, but had no idea how to assemble them.
I saw an interview where Bon Scott said that he had played in a pipe and drum corps before AC/DC so he told the producer he knew the bagpipes. What he meant was that he knew how to play the bagpipes not that he could play the bagpipes. The climb to success is never what it seems. Like Bob Seeger said you do your stuff every night sometimes twice a night and after ten years they call you an overnight success.
Bon was a snare drummer in a pipe band in his youth. I have a picture of him in full band regalia that I got off of some bagpipe forum years ago. (My wife is a bagpiper, and we're asked/told about AC/DC wherever she performs.)
R.I.P. Bon!!!! Death by misadventure
This is filmed in my home town of Melbourne, Australia straight down Swanston street! Hell yeah!
My all-time favorite ACDC tune
The Rock Anthem….. this sums it up…..and believe it or not….. they don’t do this LIVE…..will always be in my Top 10 AC/DC songs of all time.
🤘AC/DC 🤘
Bon Scott was, is and always be AC/DC! He was incredible! I am 72 but listening to this takes me back to my twenties!
Hi Guys, This was released in 1975 and is from their High Voltage album, The video was shot in Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺 😀😀🤘🤘🎸🎸
High voltage a classic album grew up listening to the original Rip Bon from all your fans from Bonnie Scotland you were a legend taken much to early. amen. 👍
Off the TNT album in Australia
I was 16 and in Melbourne when this was shot ..... Bon Scott is a legend here in Australia.. to me ac/dc will always be a Aussie band.

Nothing like a bagpipe solo to get the day moving
The only rock song you'll ever hear with bagpipes all over it.
My favorite AC /DC song
WOOOOHOOOOOO!!! ALWAYS HERE for some AC/DC!! GREAT STUFF!!! RIP to BON & MALCOLM - you're are SORELY MISSED!! Bagpipes were played at Malcolm's funeral service. LOVE THIS BAND!! HUGS, YA'LL!!
This is legendary that small crowd was witnessing magic before their own eyes...🤘🤘🤘
Bon Scott was also born in Scotland. Many of the members of bands in the 60's and 70's in Australia were from families that immigrated to Australia from the UK. Our population was built on immigration.
I think that even the Bee-Gees were originally from Scotland, too
Unless I'm sorely mistaken
@@karlsmith2570 They were born on the isle of Man to English parents, lived a while in Manchester then moved to Australia and later when really wanting to launch their career the boys moved back to the UK.
Bon is the man and nothing can change that!!!
The Young brothers are from Scotland but grew-up in Australia. Singer Bon Scott is also from Scotland but also mostly grew-up in Australia. Bassist Mark Evans wrote a memoir about his time in AC/DC (he was kicked-out in 1977), he noted that Bon Scott actually doesn't know how to play the bagpipes and most of the bagpipe section in this song was spliced together after multiple takes.
My favorite AC/DC song. Awesomeness!!!
I’m always amazed that Bon’s charisma is so muted in videos. When you saw him live all the girls were swooning and the guys were in awe. He was soooo awesome live.
Bon Was The Man... R.I.P King Bon!!!
The lyrics are what's the most fun in this song
Many years ago, there is a small local radio station came up with the saying we can even make the bag pipes rock
gotta do more Bonn , try Big Balls
I always hold mine for charity ...
Makes me appreciate my Scots-Irish heritage. Great Band. MY Grandparents would have loved this.😂
Angus and Malcolm's older brother George Young and Harry Vanda produced the song ....worth listening to those two in the 60's band The Easybeats ..."Friday on my Mind"
I was at a Scot Irish Festival years ago in Dandridge Tn. A lone piper was on top of the dike overlooking the town and lake playing. "Its A Long Way to the Top" It was awesome.
Greatest rock song of all time in my opinion.
First album high voltage still favorite song came out 1975 I was 13 had yes on vinyl 8track cassette c.d
Back in Black album was a standard in the weight room when I was in high school. Even after high school anytime you went to the gym for a workout that album was sure to be heard.
Big shout for Malcolm young, the drive behind AC/DC.
Arguably the best rock n roll rhythm guitarist ever!🎸🎸
I believe that I read in previous comments that Bonn Scott was in a bag pipe and drum band before he was in AC/DC
I never knew there are two versions of this video, I’ve always only seen the one with them in the back of a truck.
Thanks for taking me to a trip down memory lane. 👍🏻
When Bonn was with them, they were the best. There still good now, but Bonn voice was so great.
He was a better song writer too.
We love our AccaDacca in Oz. My grandson rocked to this when he was 2 years old.
People were tripping out with the sound and performance of this legendary band...great job guys!!!
Let's Rock! Loved it.
I saw AC/DC on the Highway to Hell tour and Bon Scott one of the best unique voices in Rock! Sorely missed! I saw AC/DC on Back in Black in 1980 and For Those About to Rock We Salute You in 1981. Brian Johnson was the perfect fit for AC/DC after Bon passed. Brian was a unique voice just like Bon’s voice was unique. Love them both!
I saw them in 81 Pittsburgh. Easily Top 3 best live shows I've ever seen. Saw them again in the 90's and not much changed.
Must do For those about to rock, we salute you
It is worth saying that their stage presence is enough to make a video.
I Love ac/dc because we need all the energy resources available!
This is one of my favorite of their videos seeing Bon Scott playing bag pipes!! Too awesome!! They is another video where they are riding in the back of a pickup truck riding through town doing this song, all of the band in the back of the pickup!!❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another great one I love the official video, is ‘Let there be Rock’ awesome video, very creative!❤❤
Love you guys Phil and Sam!❤❤
What a great song! With bagpipes!
Greatest bag pipe solo in rock..😂this for me will always be the real ACDC I just never really got into the band once bon died.😢I know they went on to long time success but wasn't the same sound..Great reaction guys try TNT when ya can keep spreading the music around Godbless ❤️
Hell yeah those bagpipes are fire 🔥 🤘
They filmed another video of the song on the same day (so Bon's still in his crop top, Sam! 😂), this time with the band on the back of a truck driving along the main road in downtown Melbourne. It's really great.
Glad you reacted to this but the version that you need to see of this is they're also in a city but they're on a moving truck through the streets of Melbourne playing.
This was a huge road song when I was growing up. Summer day, in the car, widows down and song blasting. On the freeway rockin’ out and by the end of the song, you look up to see a cop in the rear view mirror, lights flashing because you’ve apparently been speeding the last 5 minutes..
Great tune! Good pick Phil and Sam! ✌️😎👍💕
Blues rock n roll. Call and response.
Got to love those bagpipes!
Their cover of the blues classic, "Baby Please Don't Go," is amazing, with the live version one you won't forget--for reasons other than the music.
This is big fun! But you know that!😃
Dammit !!!! You guys ROCK . Love the vibes . Keep it UP !!!!!!!
Before ACDC , Bon Scott was in 2 bands. One was called " The Valentines " and the other ' Fraternity ". He played wind instruments there.
"It's a long way to the shop when you want a sausage roll" was a fun little ditty back in the 70's.
Thank you!
My favourite Aussie band. Lucky enough to be old enough to see them a few times in Sydney before they left for England. A few times since as well.
Better song than anything made this century.
When my daughter graduated high school
That was her quote in the year book
She's twenty three now
Been an ac dc fan since you was like three
My late wonderful husband bought bagpipes with naught but a n instruction booklet.
It was a long winter.
Epic song, thanks for giving it a listen. Oh and Sam looks so beautiful as always!
You two have brought me a lot of entertainment and I thank you for that. I wish I could afford to do patreon because you guys deserve it. Anyways all the best and bless you two. Thanks again for the content.
Lets take the next step and recommend the first punk rock song with brass The Saints ''Know Your Product''. Another great Aussie band that released the first DIY punk single in I'm Stranded in September 1976 before the Sex Pistols and The Damned.
I LOVE the Orginal !!! what a Ride !!! :-)
The bagpipes were suggested by producer, older brother to Malcolm and Angus Young, George Young as Bob Scott had once been in a pipe band.
