Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers were the Blueprint for every Boyband all over the world. Michael Jackson was compared to him as a Young Man. The Beach Boys & Diana Ross both covered Why Do Fools Fall In Love that was featured in American Graffiti. What was so sad was that he died in February 1968 and The Jackson Five auditioned for Motown in July 1968.
He said there was a lot more that he knew about Frankie Lymon but that he was tired and didn't want to do any more at that point and say yes I was hoping there would be more also
Thank you so much for making a video about Franklin "Frankie"J.Lymon. They did have a sister but I'm guessing she disappeared or she was in another city. Her name was Juanita Lymon, Lewis confirmed this in an interview in 1983 which can be found on UA-cam.

I have been a Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers fan for many years now. I have all of their recordings as well as Frankie's later recordings. I met and spoke with Jimmy Merchant, Herman Santiago, and the late-great Louis Lymon. All great guys. My late-great friend, Timothy Wilson of the 1958 group "Tiny Tim & The Hits" was singing lead for The Teenagers in later years before Timothy's death from cancer a few years ago. Louis Lymon was also with the group at that time. The late-great Ronnie "I" Italiano, president & founder of the United in Group Harmony Association (UGHA), was a good friend of mine, and I was a member of UGHA from 1980 until Ronnie's death from cancer in March 2008, which is when UGHA came to an end. The organization did raise money for a nice headstone for Frankie's grave by hosting a show in 1986. I also helped induct The Teenagers into the UGHA Hall of Fame in the early 1990's. When Ronnie's store closed in 2012, the stone went to UGHA member Pam N. Years later, the stone went to a museum in Michigan. "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" is a great movie. I have it in my vast VHS-DVD collection and watch it on my theater sized movie screen, using my Naxa Projection System and surround-sound system. This is a great story about the group. Great job well done. MAY FRANKIE LYMON, SHERMAN GARNES AND JOE NIGRONI ALL REST IN HARMONY. I always play their songs on my internet radio shows at youtube/anthonyjamroz.

I would have loved to have seen that version of Michael Jackson in that role.
RIP to these Amazing LEGENDS !!!
Whaaat? Wow
@@Whitechapelchap Oh yea, it was Joe's idea and Michael was on board to do it. But for whatever reason it never materialized...But the way Michael looked at that time I think he would've done an amazing job.
@@AHMAD-2324 Interesting. Thanks for sharing that.
I believe Micheal wanted to produce it, idt that he wanted to star Mike was too old at the time
Tina Andrews the writer of the movie said she offered the role to him, but he turned it down because he told her he didn’t want to play a drug addict.
Love how originally is being recognized, the truth is always written in stone.
Very informative video!
to live a life of craziness just to be taken out at 25 is sad to hear. RIP.
REST WELL FRANKIE VERY TALENTED..
Yes, thank you for sharing your gift of song

Why do fools fall in love is one of my favorite movies. In documentaries like this. Sometimes I wish they’re go to the actual building or block that Frankie grew up on & show the actual places 💗! I’m a Harlem native & love stories that happened before I was born. Thanks for giving a great story at underrated.
Just before Edgecombe Ave.
You can go to Frankie Lymons block & building : Amsterdam Ave. & 164Th Street. It's the last building on the left side of 164Th Street. I think the number is 467 . It's the last apt. building before you get to Stitt Jr. High school. I'm from that block, that's how I know... Plus Leslie Uggams is from the same block & building.too !! 💯👍🏾✊🏾😉
Left side of 264Th Street, just before you get to Edgecombe Ave. The last tall 6 floor apt. Building before Stitt Jr. High School. Next to it is a antique row house, very, very old. If I remember it only has 2 or 3 floors to it. Next to Stitt Jr. High School back yard.
I Been Waiting For This Story🖤🖤🖤🖤 Thank You!
I promise our black people have suffered so much racism for many decades.
Since the day first day the white man laid eyes on Us 👹🤛🏾💯
It only amazes me that it's the same exact thing today.
@@sarahmoses1910 Correct! I remember my mom telling me many years ago that history will repeat itself my mother is 75 years old And she is so right.
Racism is not going anywhere it's been here since the beginning of man!
When I lived in LA, I met a senior citizen at a train station who told me how racist Hollywood screwed him and other Black screenwriters over when they were young.
I know people ask you to do stories all the time but Bernard Wright just died yesterday and I am distraught because I loved him. So much went on in his life that most of us are unaware of and I know you could enlighten us
@Buhkamae Samuel actually she's his godmother
Damn!..I didn't know that..r.i.p.
@@gritzgravy1760 why is she listed as his mother?
@@naturalista74 because it's in error. Please go look on her Facebook post regarding his death. She clearly states that he was her Godson
He passed ?! Rip
So young and such a tragic story. I love Lorenz Tate in Why Do Fools Fall In Love
Yes he did the dam thang
The entertainment industry is a dirty game👹🤛🏾💯
Fun fact Michael Jackson and Frankie Lymon have the same middle name Frankie Joseph Lymon and Michael Joseph Jackson
Ok
Ok?
@@Wowitzkay right lmao
Those two have absolutely nothing in common.
@@TriceyDiva what are you talking about I just say they got same middle name you go look it up
Would you please consider doing a part 2 on Frankie Lymon.....this was very interesting!!!!
This one IS his part 2 Ma'am lol
He said there was a lot more that he knew about Frankie Lymon but that he was tired and didn't want to do any more at that point and say yes I was hoping there would be more also
What's more to tell?
Frankie Lymon didn't get his just due. Frankie Lymon like a lot of artists didn't know the business.
His adult voice was Beautiful. Listen to Seabreeze, and a few others. It’s beautifully haunting when you know the story.
Indeed 💯
Yes, it's first time I heard it and it was!
Thank you so much for making a video about Franklin "Frankie"J.Lymon. He has a beautiful voice and a talent that ended short due to not having the best guidance in his life and the environment he lived in. Also, Frankie (2nd oldest) only had 3 brothers names are Lewis, Timmy, Howie, and no sister. Not sure if their father had other children elsewhere but it was just Frankie and his three brothers. Anyways, you did a great job man and you need a real documentary show.
He did not live in a peaceful white suburb surrounded by people that could gide him into good enviroment.
@@relacionar111 Yeah you know Harlem (Manhattan) New York, NY is not the best place to raise a family and during that time a lot of people had an addiction issue too...Also, a few people I know from Harlem told me that there have been improvement for people to live there but they said they do not care and they will never go back because it is too depressing.
His wives looked like lesbians... especially the first one!
They did have a sister but I'm guessing she disappeared or she was in another city. Her name was Juanita Lymon, Lewis confirmed this in an interview in 1983 which can be found on UA-cam.
This is so sad. The industry is not a clean business to dwell in. They are evil and will face the wrath and judgment of God for doing these babies such wickedness. Blessings and keep up the awesome work!
He was a young black man giving money and joy for a white people who did not give him back the respect and good enviroment he deserved becouse the high racism at that time.
Your videos are ALWAYS on time!! Amazing content as usual! 1 of THEE BEST if not theeeee best channel on YT!!! Peace and blessings to you and everyone who reads this! #CelebrityUnderrated
Back with a banger 🔥💯
R.I.P. Frankie Lymon! Still have the movie on DVD. #throwback
The way he tell stories is so funny. The stories be so real. He be making me laugh with his comments and laughter when they be getting played. Frankie Lyman story messed up. Drugs is a sad situation. It’s sad people go out like that. Stay sober. 💯
Very nice job I saw the movie and I really enjoyed your video. I filled in a lot of blanks. Thank you again.
WOW AWESOME AWESOME VIDEO KING THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING 👑👑👑👑
He should do a story on Otis Redding
There’s the Unsung series. Look up the unsung Otis Redding!
Where were their parents? How could they let these young kids dealing contracts with these managers all by themselves?
Love Love Love the vid....THANK YOU so much for keeping his memory alive....Frankie Lymon had balls of steel but people like that often live carelessly and so often it catches up with them
🗣Why do fools fall in love is literally one of my favorite movies
The movie Why do fools fall in love left me wanting to know know more about Frankie. Larenz Tate did such a magnificent job, I just wanted more. On the internet it's not very much on Frankie. I really hope someone would do a movie on him like the one recently done on Elvis🤨.
I DEFINITELY want more parts to this story! Man, I really enjoyed it as always! Frankie was molested, & it's as I sad it was swept under the rug! Had he been a girl, she wouldn't have been called a wild "girl" with so much love....But again, I dig this!
Actually you are wrong she would have suffered more having to pretend and keep doing it men get away with under
Who's wrong???
@@DevanteMcDanielmany women we have learned was molested also and it was swept under the rug. People didn't talk about those things, remember back then what happens in this house stays in this house, that's why there is so much generational trauma now. However we also found out it has happened to men also, which men don't speak out about like a woman will.

I completely understand!! I LOVE my black women, & I protect them! That's what we ALL should do as black men! It's sad what u ladies have had to go through! And, u are absolutely right! We men keep quiet about things like this!
Thank you so much love this story.
Listen to Frankie’s version of Over The Rainbow , simply amazing . Of course what he and The Teenagers did in their time together is legendary . Ronnie Dyson moved in across the street from me when I was a kid in Downtown Brooklyn in the 70’s , funny that you mentioned him .

This one is his part 2
Well if it isn't Frankie Lymon!!! So sad how his life ended. So talented and so young. Morris was wrong!!! Boi that movie was right!!! Shout to L. Tate for doing that movie justice. RIP Frankie 🌹
That's my favorite line from that movie😂
Love your videos!
I'm loving your show ..I'll watch this when my phone battery if full..keep it comming playa
My Brother Thank you sooo much for this video really appreciate this much Love....
Please do videos on Phyllis Hyman, Aaliyah, DMX, Yukiko Okada, 2pac, Ofra Haza and Jimi Hendrix
If he does Aaliyah then I hope he talks to her old schoolmates in Detroit, because they not only have the drop on how she really was off camera, but they also interacted with R. Kelly at the time all of the alleged you know what was going on. He would sit in class with her.
Your info is real good man! You got me like I didn't even know vibe and I be wanna know some of these people are that I didn't even notice. You got tons of videos on people that will keep me up all night until 6am.
