Also, if you want the best overall history of of magic, check out the eight volume series a “History of Magic and Experimental Science” by Lynn Thorndike. It is monumental, and expensive, but worth it.

If you want the best book on Grimoires probably ever written, check out the two volume series “The Grimoire Encyclopedia” by David Rankine.
