- I finally get a bit offensive. I'm pretty sure a lot of people have sh*tty polyester velour cloaks in their wardrobes. But just... no. Please.... NO.
And why some words just wind me up SO F*CKING MUCH! What are those words???? Hmmm.....

Totally agree. Any time someone says ‘witchy’ I immediately think of Witchy Woman by the Eagles. Also polyester is definitely the devil’s work. Very pleased to have found your channel, so refreshing.

It's always funny to me that the people calling everyone else snowflakes seem to fit their definition of the term far better than the people they're attacking. Because who's the ones being overly sensitive of the slightest little thing here? Also, this reminds me I need to sew the clasp to my cloak. Brass clasp, though, not silver. But the cloak's properly wool.
The snowflake thing *is* so funny, But generally people throwing that phrase around don't have the common sense to appreciate irony. And a huge hurrah for a proper cloak!!! (Honestly, fasten it in whatever way works! My husband has a gorgeous iron cloak ring for his, and it looks great!)

My beautiful (wool and hooded) cloak was made by my Mum when she was expecting me... It is Very Old now 😅 I love it and wear it often (on really cold days, with a coat underneath too). So practical, useful and lovely ❤️
Cloaks are just so much better than coats. I'm envious of yours!

The fist time I came across the term 'witchy' was by Charles Manson, which was taken from a courtroom statement from 1969. He said he told his followers to leave behind them some sort of 'witchy' mark after a crime. Hence the whole Beatles quotes left on the walls and stuff.
That's reason enough to leave it be, I think, just there! (This is new info for me, interesting!)

Although I don't call myself a witch, or anything really, I'm with you on the shitty polyester thing! Shitty polyester anything is just fancy-dress, nothing more, and it's for playing 'dress-up', make-believe, and belongs in the play-room.
If you're going to do something, commit to it, is my belief!
OMG I used to be re-enactor too. I so miss it but hubby made us give up after my father in law retired because none of us can drive.
I do miss it. But I also welcome being able to do low impact and non-authentic events too. The amount of camping stuff is starting to get a bit ridiculous, though.... Sooooo much stuff.....

I do love your rants lol. But I have to say in terms of 'witchy', it's more marketing and a way to find others with similar beliefs, terms like that are what works on social media.
I do hear that, but I wish there was a more reductive way of saying it. Maybe we should brainstorm something new and meaningful....
I used to have a polyester cloak 🤣😂🤣 but then made my own ❤ it’s now a template for new ones I make 🤣😂
