Hey everyone, thanks for watching! I'll never forget this amazing experience in Bohol meeting Sybelle and her wonderful family. Unfortunately things did not work out between us as we both realized we have different goals and are on different paths. We both had good intentions. I've had several comments asking about this and wanted to clarify. Some time in the near future I'll make videos on what I've learned from this experience so far of meeting a Filipina and looking for a relationship here. Thanks again for supporting the channel!

A house is measured in square feet, a HOME is measured in love inside it. I think one of the biggest fears that a Filipina can have is bringing a foreigner to their provincial home, thinking they'll look down on her for it. They shouldn't be, from the many videos I've seen, the foreigners don't care about the house they were raised in, it's more about the upbringing they had, the type of person they are. I really enjoy these type of videos more, the down to earth everyday life, rather than the big city, touristy, malls, and 5* hotel ones.

I took the family to Anda for the weekend, none of them had ever been in the ocean or stayed in a motel, or eaten at a restaurant. They all loved it. The family loved me right away, it was a very difficult goodbye for me. I have learned to be much more careful for my upcoming retirement there this fall. In one month I met only kind, caring, friendly and helpful people. After living in emotionally empty Calgary I cannot explain how much I loved the Philippines, especially the people.

Once the family supported your relationship? That's a sign that you found one. She's a typical woman that will sincerely care for you. Just a shy girl trying her best to keep up with you on vlog her whole humble family. And most of all, She's studying that means she tried to excel her current situation to have a better future. And that is a pure characteristic of a good woman.

You are so so so right! "A home is not really about how it looks, but the feeling you have when you are there". I heartily & absolutely agree with you. I've never been to Bohol but I have been to visit my Dad's hometown in Palo Leyte PI. I've also been to the Province of Dipolog. Seeing your video makes me feel homesick though I'm not from the Philippines. I am originally from Guam (a small tropical Island in the Pacific Ocean) between Hawaii and Philippines & Japan. We are in the middle of the Ocean & our Island is known as "Guam, Where America's Day Begins!" This is because you cross the International Dateline & the time zone changes when you leave Hawaii heading to Guam. Why not come visit our Island too? I'm sure you won't be disappointed because its a tropical island with clear beaches & friendly hospitable Islanders. Thanks so much for your visit. I felt like you took me on your trip too. Outstanding! 😊

Great vid, wonderful commentary at the end; your comment about, and I'm paraphrasing, no matter how little the people have available to them, they go out of their way to help out... I forget those things sometimes. I'm Filipino by ethnicity, born in Cebu in the late 60s, a kid in Guam in the 70s, & a teenager in California in the 80s. I am by any measure very Westernized, and it's only been recently that I've come to 'rediscover' my roots; I love seeing videos like this especially when folks like yourself put the Philippines in a positive light and obviously really love the country. Thank you!

No wonder my parents were sad when we left Philippines in the early 1970's. I was young, we did not have money back then, it was a new world to me, it was an adventure, not mentioning the city or state, the first year, it was winter no one wanted to give us a ride to food shop at the store so the whole family walked in the cold, we got heckled by bunch inside a car passing by, the checkout counter employee must've had a bad day or just not happy to see us, then we had a next door neighbor welcomed us by saying "what you people doing in this country?", then coming from work I almost got mugged. Nothing bothered me in those years, it was all good, it was an opportunity like my father said. Now I understand why my parent felt that way leaving the Philippines.
