Stressed out by planning what to wear on a trip? In this video, I'll show you how to plan a "capsule wardrobe" for any kind of trip, including the systematic and repeatable process I use to figure out which clothes to bring (making it impossible to put together a bad outfit).
I'll also show you how I actually pack my carry-on suitcase efficiently and effectively, so no space is wasted, and the bag is easy to unpack or live out of. And I'll give you a few extra travel tips that I've discovered over the years (especially useful for anyone who flies on an airplane occasionally).

🧍🏻My Sizes
I'm 5'6" with shoes on and about 125 lbs after dinner. I have a 35" chest; I usually wear XS tops and 28x28 pants (or 28x30 cuffed).
My best suit jacket size is 34 Short, but even 34S needs alterations (mostly shortening of the sleeves and jacket), so my best-fitting suits are custom.

This is the best packing video I’ve seen. The production quality of your videos also gets better and better, and it’s so nice to see someone genuinely impressed by their sponsor’s products.
Wow, thank you! I’ve been trying to step up my production. More to come!
Need to send this one to my wife. 20kg for a 4-day trip last week.
😂
Ooof!
Only 20 kg? That's for a day for my wife.
Not sure how strong your wife is, but this trunk is over 11lbs empty. As a 5'5, 118lb woman, this would be too heavy after packing for me. Unless she's an unusually strong woman, I will think this beautiful trunk is more ideal for men who are naturally stronger.
I thought Rimowa was the highest tier until I found this video! I do appreciate Influencers selling quality products at some of the best quality items. I do wish it had 4 wheels though (crying face emoji). Love your channel and appreciate how honest and candid your videos are.
They’re coming out with 4 wheel versions soon!
Brock -- I really appreciate all of your videos. You do such a great job of giving down-to-earth, useful, and tasteful advice on so many topics. Keep up the great work!
That means a lot, thank you! 🙏🏻
1:41 : "..under the rich brown ring spun twill liner.." : that perfect Patrick Bateman impersonation; complemented by the American Psycho style edit, is perfectly apt for this stunning, luxury case.
Very nice luggage and useful tips. Thanks.
Always helpful, well thought-out videos. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏
Thanks Brock. Great tips! Sweet luggage too.
Thanks for watching!
Love this.
BTW, love the haicut and the silver around the ears. As usual an excellent and useful video.
Thank you!
Your packing videos are always great
Thank you!
Great vid. Very helpful 👍
Glad to hear it!
Loving the editing in these latest videos!
Thanks! This one took a LONG time, so I'm glad someone noticed 🤓
Love the video Brock. These are all great tips. I usually do some version of this. I could get better at planning in advance and getting smaller versions of my skin care products.(Not found in stores) That luggage is very nice too. Love the content. Keep it coming.
Thank you!
Great video Brock!!
Appreciate it!
Great!
Nice video! Never heard of the 5-4-3-2-1 rule. I tend to overpack only to find out on location that the clothes don't even match. Thanks for educating me on that. One thing about neck pillows: I have an inflatable neck pillow when I fly. It takes no space in a backpack and it's flexible to my needs in terms of firmness.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll check those out!
Intresting
As a frequent traveler its good to see that my approach is pretty much exactly the same as yours
My downfall that I tend to run outside wherever I go, meaning proper running shoes and at size 13 take up tons of space and usually require me to bring along an overnight bag along with my cabin bag to bring everything I need for a 3+ night trip
Ah good point, adding workout clothes (esp shoes) changes things!
Really enjoyed this video and still think its wild you grew up in MOCO. Grew up in HARCO and have a bunch of friends from MOCO.
Woah small world! Where’d you go to high school? You still live in MD?
@@BrockMcGoff I went to Bel Air High. Graduated from Towson as well. I'm still in Baltimore County and working in Maryland. Love that you're back to UA-cam content. You taught me how to dress for the business world when I was in College 2014-2018. Appreciate you greatly.
The suitcase is great🧳, but the way you organize everything is another level. By the way, your haircut looked great on you👌🏻
Thank you, sir!
Love your socks 😊
Great Channel Brock ! Subcribed ! Buddha the Barber !💈💈💈
Hey thanks for the chop, looks great! 🙏🏻
Great advice and thanks for dissing all those silly hacks that are in eery other video. I will add though for family travel with two kids packing cubes are great for separating each person's clothes which is very handy on holidays when at the last minute 'somebody' wants to suddenly change her tights to pink ones!
Good point, I might have to try those now that we’re traveling with kids!
Hi Brock, what watch are you wearing in this video? Love the videos!
Liking the newer video style. Nice to mix it up. Got that Iron Snail vibe going on. 😂
Thanks!
Brock, can you share links to the items you packed in the video? For example dopp kit, chinos etc?
I’m one of those type A travellers that research & plan many things before departure. My boyfriend is rather the opposite. I’m definitely showing these tips to him this weekend so he can try it out for our next trip to Spain!
Have a fun trip!
What do you call your new haircut style? Thanks.
Hey Brock, what chore coat / over shirt are you wearing? I have been eyeing the Asket one. I realy like the worn in look of the one you ware wearing.
This one is from Ash & Erie. It’s more slim fit and less cropped than ASKET.
Thats rimowa price and quality!!!! the handle on the longer side i am not sure !!! Good tips thanks on winter it is harder
I don't know why brock sounds like Patrick Bateman when he talks about the suitcase..
"Impressive. Very nice, let's see Paul Allen's Carry-on suitcase.."
“Marcus and I even go to the same barber, although I have a slightly better haircut.”
Nice video as usual. The boxers caught my attention, very nice design. What brand are there? My favourite go-to brand for boxers, RL hasn't been impressing me lately. Their designs are not my taste.
Thanks! My go to boxer briefs lately have been from Tommy John, 2Xist, lululemon, and believe it or not, Hanes (Comfort Flex).
Brock, I need your opinion: I am skinny, 175 cm tall, 40 yr old, dark skin tone guy and would like to know what color combinations would suit me. Thanks in advance.
For once, I’d like to see a sponsored video of a hand luggage that wouldn’t cost so much and weigh half the allowed weight for hand luggage in most countries that are not North America
A suitcase that can’t flex a little is a suitcase I would not want to own. Aluminum? What are we transporting? Waterford crystal?
Brock, have you been pickling the face in olive oil extract to highlight creases in a very very conscious attempt to look like Simon Crompton sans beard? His latest clip titled "How to pack for a short trip" - may have inspired you to oil up and content wise. A denizen of the clever once warned "be yourself, everyone else is already taken". Now bite back in hypnotic dissent.
I didn't know PS had a UA-cam channel, will have to check it out.
Duffel bags FTW - Edited: Organisers are great for longer trips
I tend to avoid duffels for airport travel. Too much pressure on the shoulder (unless you pack really light). I love duffels for road trips, though!
@@BrockMcGoff Correct, not for the carry on. Should have mentioned it. I use large duffel bags for checked luggage. The big bulky hard shells are too bothersome.
Gotcha, makes sense!
Sterling pacific rivals rimowa.
Agreed!
👍🏼💯❤️
DAMN that's the nicest suitcase I've ever seen
I could totally see you and Kate rolling up to Vegas with a set of these 👀
Is that suitcase bulletproof?
It definitely looks like something James Bond would use 🤵🏻
You’ll definitely have to worry about weight limits in a lot of places around the world to take that thing carry on. Over 5kg when empty. That’s just an impractical design, I can’t imagine spending so much money on a case I can’t use on certain trips.
Spending money on airport food probably isn’t a big deal if you are the kind of person with a $2000 suitcase 😂
Hey someone has to keep those airport steakhouses in business 🤑
I'm shocked you don't use packing cubes! That's like, adulting advanced...
I’ll have to try them soon!
What underwear is that?
2k suitcase ...😮 like why ..
Every product category has a top end. There’s always a customer for it. I can see why people would want this case, but yes, it’s expensive.
Agreed, would love to see comparisons at lower price points if you ever decide to cover more luggage. I'm thinking perhaps there'd be a sweet spot around 1k?
@@brach661 good idea! I’m not an expert but have tried a few of the newer brands. I think $500 goes a long way these days, but like anything else, you can pay more for luxury quality.
Suitcase insurance required
Two Thouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuusand dollars!!! Haaaaaaahahahahahaha!!
My guy! I also pack well in advance. If short trip, at least one week out, if overseas, at least three weeks out, that way if there's anything missing I can always have time to organise.
Right on!
