Just picked up the Amaran 300c 2 days ago and used it yesterday….was a world of being able to use that color for backgrounds and subjects (opposed to my small panel lights and 120’s) and like you said in this video I’m glad I went with the bigger light as I could turn it down if need be. Didn’t break the bank like the 600c would have. Big fan of it right now. Probably will pick up a second in the future as I’m loving that diversity it has right now.
I was thinking about getting the 300c but then I was deciding if i should get 2 150c and then the nanlite fs 300b. do you think that would be a good alternative?
My favourite light is the LS 60x since it's literally the only light I have lol Still waiting on a softbox since I'm kinda broke but even without it's been hella fun just setting up a big sheet or my 5 in 1 to shoot through and I can't wait to have the ability to experiment more.
Great video! Hey I thought of a video topic idea - I’d be interested in a breakdown of how to shoot faces/interviews outdoors in harsh sunlight, and the best way to rig diffusion that won’t get blown away by the wind.
Thanks for sharing! Not too many videos on Forza 500BII, I just placed an order for a 2 light kit of the Forza 500BII and the 19 & 36 projector beam lens from Nanlite. Love your lighting setup in your office and great audio! Do you have any more content on Nanlite Forza 300 or 500??
Might be a question that youtube has never heard but damn those lightstands at 2:28 are nice what ones do you use? The wheels would make moving it so easy!
one thing to note: You can always get two lights and put them next to each other to match the higher power light. So I might as well get 3 forza 300 and then double them up to compete with sunlight :)
Hey bro do you have any lights to sponsor me that you may not be using or want anymore I’ve been wanting one for a while now but can’t seem to afford one to do scenes for a local film competition I know it’s a lot to ask but your my favorite UA-camr I learn so much so I said I’d ask….doesn’t matter the light I’m not picky And to you favorite light question I like the aperture120d and the nanlite pavo tubes those are dope… wish I could afford them
I went 720b and using diffusion I still wish it was more powerful competing with windows. In slog3 I can almostttt get the skin tones at 55 ire with a proper exposure outside
What I noticed in your video is that you kept the pinned cable wrapped. I would strongly recommend unwrapping it and leave it loose when in use. The wattage obviously is higher and can overheat, degrade, melt, catch fire and so on.
I am working on starting a new video production business and looking for a good lighting kit for a start-up like mine. what do you think about the smallrig 450b compared to the new Amaran 300c as my 2 main key lights,? Along with the 1 Amaran f21c and a pair of the also new Amaran pt4c? Anyone with experience with lighting can answer btw .
Great Video! I’ve been thinking about getting another light. I currently have a Aputure 120D. Quick question… You mentioned matching the ambient light outside with the light inside. How do you actually do that?
Not trying to speak for YC, but this is a topic i've found really interesting to experiment with so maybe it'll be helpful: it depends on what look you're going for, but it's mainly just a game of playing with the lighting of your subject until your exposure looks balanced (or is more similar on something like false color) with the outdoor lighting. Different types of diffusion material will be your best friend for this because you don't want the light to look harsh at all or it'll throw off the balance quickly. You may also need to diffuse some of the outdoor light if its coming in through a window with things like ND gels on windows or placing diffusion/a scrim in front of them. Also pay attention to the angle of where you're placing your lights relative to where the shadows would naturally fall. Like YC's shot at 5:50 is great because he balanced the light to create the illusion of the sun coming from outside and theres shadow shaping his face from the indoor side which looks realistic to our mind due to the direction of the sun. This is huge for creating the illusion / motivating the light correctly. As a general rule of thumb, expose for the elements you can't control, and use powerful lights to bring up the areas you can
What’s your favorite light to use right now?
Nanlite 720B.
720b
Godox VL200
Aputure 300d mark 2 💯
I don’t have any 😅. How do you start making a kit?

@@JustMicahFilmsthat’s way more versitile for sure
Or just use gels
That garage frame 🔥 literally couldn’t do that without that powerful light!
It's always a pleasure learning from you. Thumb up for this video brah! 🔥
Thank you so much for sharing!!!!🥰
I just bought your InfiniBar and it really helped with shooting a poetry reading at a small coffee shop! Can’t wait to use it on more shoots!

Literally in the market for a powerful light, and you drop this video. I’m going to check Nanlite out!
The garage matching the outside light.
Another dope 1!
Fantastic Video! Your video work is DOPE!
Great video!

But the catch is that it will create multiple shadows
@@mabitzzltdsteam4082 not if you diffuse it with a curtain
that garage shot was butter 🤌
Can you share which slider you're using, on the floor at 2:40? Looks great!
Noted 🙏🏿
Great video!! Thanks for sharing!! Can you make a video about neutral density film for windows? Thanks 👍
Great job!
I'm guessing you had an ND on also for the garage shots? Looks really good with the shallow dof.
if i have a 1000, i could invest in a 60bii set with stands and softboxes or one of those, what shloud i do?
@YCImaging
can it be used as a flash for photography?
Yoooo can we get an update version of that link with your filmmaking gear? In partictular, whats that Cstand youre using in the garage?
I’ll do that soon!
Getting these this week. That’s if I don’t buy the C70👀

The 720B is fire, I used one for a shoot!
What diffusion or modifier do you use with the 720b ?
@@anchorcity4183 mostly a 60 inch ezglow soft box
Maybe try adding a fresnel before diffusing it… depending on the distance between diffusion and light it might help
I know right, I thought the 720b could compete with the sun but nope

Wait a minute you have 2 lights in the shot of the garage. So you’re using a 300w and a 500w for the garage shot? So that’s 800w.
🔥🔥🔥
Very helpful video! What slider are you using in your video?
Look like edelkrone slider v5
