- Stormy Mundy Selection (Occasional Series - Acts of Random Archive Rummaging)
This video is an edited extract from the latest Stormy Mundy Selection, as featured on dgmlive.com www.dgmlive.com/tour-dates/26...
Alex 'Stormy' Mundy has once again mixed the Crimson timestreams, this time blending Crimson in Rome, 23rd July 2018 with John Wetton and Ian McDonald appearing from the Red sessions. Emulating the spirit of 1991's Frame By Frame compilation box that saw Adrian Belew appear on Cadence And Cascade and Tony Levin on Bolero, Alex comments, "Sax-wise, Mel (live) is panned right and Ian (studio) is panned left. I had to edit John slightly to fit the live version, but they certainly have played it very close to the studio tempo, and of course, the tuning is the same. The same with Ian, gently moving him to match."

I love that this already had 40 likes just seven minutes after it was uploaded. It's like there are all these King Crimson fans lurking on the Interweb waiting to pounce the moment a new KC becomes available. You have to love John's vocals. That was a very special time in the KC line up.
Probably all the old members of the band
This is the shit. 🤘
I'm one of those people. Fripp mentioned hooking up with Daryl's crew to possibly put out something soon.
Fucking can't be soon enough.
This is music. Thanks for the upload
Never thought they ever done this live back in '74? Have all the original live recordings from back then, and "One More Red Nightmare" was never on the set list as far as l know. So can anyone tell me where this came from?
The beginning of the song is my ringtone. Such a banger. And, I still enjoy it even after listening to it literally 1000s of time.
Style!
What a great idea
This riff. Dark and powerful. Wonderful track.
This never gets old. One of the all time best songs from one of the all time best albums ever!!
The word tight is a massive understatement if they were able to mix 2 tracks, nearly 50 years apart! Incredible to hear Bruford, then overlaid and gradually apparently handed off to one of the newer guys? Maybe mastelletto? Great to hear two saxs playing across 45-50 years as well sounded incredible. The fact it worked like some sort of improvisational counterpoint is a testament to a legendary band - keep em coming please Robert 🙏 🎉❤
Bruford does not appear on this version.
"The vocals are John Wetton and the sax on the left is Ian McDonald, from the original 1974 studio sessions, the rest is a live version from 2018 with Mel Collins, (sax right) Tony Levin, bass, Robert Fripp and Jakko Jakszyk guitars, Bill Rieflin keyboards, Pat Mastelotto, Jeremy Stacey and Gavin Harrison Drums. Best Stormy."
I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase a boxed set of these Stormy mixes!
These are able to be purchased here shop.schizoidshop.com/mr-stormy-series-c295.aspx Best Stormy

The best way to start the week!
Everyday. What are you talking about? 😅
@@MattyExtrordinairIndeed-rp1mk I'm talking about the publishing of this video 😁 Having it pop in my feed is the best way to start the week!
@@haydenever6557 right on . I was just giving ya shit. My sarcastic mouth from the east coast. Philly
It's amazing that such a complex song doesn't wash out and degenerate. It's a testament to the tightness and precision of all the players that it doesn't.
Wow so gut ,,ich mag diese Music 😊
this has to be one of my fave bands of all time.
This is like the ultimate sample session where two far off incarnations of KC reach across via digital wormhole to augment one another. Shiver me timbers
There is no band like King Crimson!! Brilliant in 1974, brilliant in 2018!!!
Well, in 1974 anyway ...
This is ridiculous …. Love it so much. ❤🎉
I’ve been waiting forever for another KC upload, this edit sounds great!

KC magic!
This is so genius
Wetton made this song what it was and I know they can pull it off without him but it’s so cool to hear this with the “other” band
Not bad at all ❤🎉❤
👍👍👍
❤❤❤
🤘🏻
❤
FANTASTIC Konzert in Mü.1993? Philharmonie ❤
Red is such an incredible album. Easily one of the best of KC
the illusion of secure intellct and purity of cutting back on drugs.. true color music from another universe, so advanced its almost reached by accident rather than by discipline.. a world in which the brave ulysses will be welcomed back and woman and lost friends are loyal.
If I could only bring/keep one KC album it would be Red without even thinking about it! Such an awesome album from such an awesome lineup, just before it ended sadly...
@@JensAndree, I approve this message
Y en vivo y directo puedo asegurar que es todo un sueño!!!
Y no de color rojo!!!
King crimson сотри время для всех кроме меня самого вижу как движется его стэнд....
круто
As to my case, life would've been Much poorer without King Crimson, and Van der Graaf Generator... ☺
So, is this really a mashup of a 1974 recording and a 2018 recording? It certainly sounds like it. The "arrangement" is a train wreck, but I still dig it. It's a stone-cold classic.
The vocals are John Wetton and the sax on the left is Ian McDonald, from the original 1974 studio sessions, the rest is a live version from 2018 with Mel Collins, (sax right) Tony Levin, bass, Robert Fripp and Jakko Jakszyk guitars, Bill Rieflin keyboards, Pat Mastelotto, Jeremy Stacey and Gavin Harrison Drums. @@kingcrimson I like when someone knows thier shit. 👍
Xenochrony, Frank Zappa used to call it -- the art of extracting something from one piece of music and inserting it into another one, such as the guitar solo (live) on Zappa's "Inca Roads" (studio version).
Bill Bruford no puede ser reemplazado solo con 1
Or just cannot be replaced.
なつかしい
I still prefer the 70s line up with Wetton but Collins sounds as great as ever
Dagitoy ti daton daytoy nagkauna nga atap a lubong > agbiag, makibingay, mangaywan, agragsak ken agbiag a sangsangkamaysa. Daksanggasat ta naipamaysatayo unay iti agbaliwbaliw a panawen ta awan pay ti tiempo wenno pannakaammotayo nga agorganisar ngem adda pay laeng ti espiritu 🤠
The Jetsons if they were RAW
So this is a stew of different performances......!?
Yes, Live 2018, and from the studio 1974, Best Stormy.
acaso hay algo mejor que King Crimson...
Who are drumming??? lol
The drummers are Pat Mastelotto on the left, Jeremy Stacey in the middle and Gavin Harrison on the right. Best Stormy.
Ah... ok... I was confused, thx@@kingcrimson
Drum part is a mess.. sounds like those big bands made out of students, where you have 3 or 4 people playing the same instruments.. horrible..
My kind of mess 😏
I agree. I never got the 3 drummer idea anyway. But to quote 'No Country For Old Men' - "Heck, it's a mess ain't it Sherriff" - "Well if it ain't it'll do til the real mess get's here!" 🙂
Certainly the drums aren't an improvement on Brufotd.
too bad they arent playing music
