I can't believe my ugly mug is on the Metal Jesus Rocks program. Had a great time hangin out that day.
We gotta bring you back on dude! Maybe do something with Friday the 13th games - a retrospective or something when the new game comes out.
Duuuuude! I'm so down
Questionable hoody Joe :P
When I was 18 I was at the mall and walked into an electronic store and saw the LaserActive. The salesmen told me all about it and let me have a hands on demo and I was sold! I was able to qualify for the store credit card and walked out with a LaserActive unit and The Genesis pack. The LaserActive cost $999.99 and the Genesis was $499.99 or $599.99, not sure on the Genesis pack! If I remember correctly, when all said and done I paid over $1,800.00, then 30 days later returned it!
*I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Crazy Joe's hoodie probably smells like weed*
Lmao
You’re probably not wrong
Don't ya hate it when you worry about getting "Mega LD PAC" vs "LD-ROM²" labeled right...and then you misspell "goggles" - - *sigh* #FML
Final Cut should be able to read my mind!
I just gonna leave a comment on googles... HA HA! Well we use google more than we use goggles... oh well!! Keep it up MJR! Peace and love from Tacoma
My eyes, the googles do nothing!
MetalJesusRocks any updates on when we'll get another recent pick ups video?
The software for the PC1 comes in two flavours. MS-dos and pc-dos.
What BUYING GUIDE do you want to see next? I'd like to do a 3DS, Virtual Boy, Dreamcast, SNES, Vectrex, CD-i, WiiU and more...
I'd love to see a 3DS buying guide!
You should do a 32X buying guide. =D
A 3DS guide would be great. Thanks a lot for your great videos and cheers from Switzerland!
-A fellow metalhead.
More than likely I would like to see a Wii-U buying guide so I hopefully find more games for my Wii-U that I might've overlooked.
Commodore 64
Crazy Joe is the legend.
Shawn extra Long in the haaaouse!

Dude, where are you getting those nicknames I want me some of that
yo guys i admire you keep it real ,a retro gamer, aloha from Greece, much love
Dude! I remember playing one at a high end appliance store in Torrance, CA called Pacific Sales. It was like you were plugged into a bad ass stereo. Brings back memories, crazy.
Great upload as always. Love watching this rare stuff and bringing guests on the show to tell their stories.
:)
Awesome video MJ so far! Really been looking into wierd and cool consoles recently so this is awesome! Your always an inspiration😉 cheers! And ROCK ON
Best thing about this channel is the jolly vibe between MetalJesus and his guests.
The information is good, but the wrapping is great
Wow I had no idea there was a Turbografx module!
Really enjoyed this, I didn't know anything about this console till I watched this video. Thanks lots guys.
Sorry to put you on the spot, but as the Genesis pack can do Sega CD, can the TG16 pack do Turbo CD / PC Engine Duo games, too?
Damnit Riggs, I thought I was finally out of the woods! The turbo PAC actually plays both US & JPN turbo CDs but only US hue cards. Wheeeeew!
makes sense as there's no region locking on Turbo CDs from either country. Neat!
John Riggs: RIGG'd Games yes, I originally thought something was wrong with my Sega PAC being that this was my first introduction to any form of turbo cd / Japanese Sega CD & there is NO info on it.
i have one of these too and if you can find the discs from arcade games such as dragon's lair, space ace, cliff hanger etc... those can be watched in the laseractive. they play out from start to finish and show all the scenes and deaths in about 20-30 minutes. Pretty cool back in the day. The motor died in mine but it still plays carts/cards.
John Riggs: RIGG'd Games you can only play on either pac, carts only from any region. Not CD games . I know . I have a laser active I bought for $5 from a pawn shop
Crazy Joe!!! That soccer mom hooked you up for $30. Dealz
Kacy DaGameNerd Kacy!!
I lucked into mine for $15 at a garage sale with the Sega PAC and the PAC slot cover.
Soccer moms are the best.
Kacy DaGameNerd and we are still friends! I told her to keep her eyes peeled for a SNES Playststion prototype
Bro sounds JUST like Tom Hanks. Eerie.
Oh my god....I do
Toy Story sequels here I come
Crazy Joe vs. The Volcano
Sega CD-less in Seattle
Forrest Joe.
Heard about a LaserActive video on MJR, was surprised to see Crazy Joe! And he didn't even drop your Olde English 800!
Would love to see you back again.
Crazy Joe is awesome, I wanna see more Crazy Joe!
Me to!
Always love videos on unknown systems or games! Great job!
Mr. Kebab now when you see one for $30 you can say you saw it here first!
I've been waiting for Crazy Joe's episode.
Vajra looks great ! Absolutely loving the cryptic cover art too. Great show, keep up the good work guys, subscribed.
Amazing stuff as always MJR, this guy rocks
Great video to see something rare and different! Keep up the awesome work
I've got a Laseractive with both the Genesis and Turbografx packs. The only LD game I have for it is one where you're a guy who meets women on the street and convinces them to let him take photos of them. If you do well enough they let you take...more intimate photos of them. I'm not proud to own this.
Virtual cameraman! That game is awesome.
Nutz4Gunz45 Yeah, that's the name!
Believe it or not there was 2 virtual cameraman games.
sounds like Photokano with more pervy stuff
Leisure suit Larryesque.
Super cool video, never heard of this thing and now I need one!!
Cool historical piece! I remember seeing this piece in the Sears wish book or at Service Merchandise as a kid. I had totally forgotten about it until seeing it brought up here again. Way expensive!
I love your videos keep up the good work. I'd love to
See more CDi and 3 do reviews. But all your stuff is awesome.
videos like this are awesome! thanks metal jesus!
I'm sure John loves it when a guy with a Coleco Chameleon hoodie on mentions him.
Greetings from Ensenada Baja California Mexico, I love your channel, keep the good work.
I have a copy of the 1994 Electronic Gaming Monthly buyers guide and in it, it list all current systems and its retail price. The Pioneer Laseractive was listed at $1,300.
Good grief. Yeah I payed $30 but don't ask what I payed for that turbo PAC 😬
Hahaha, right. But if you think about it, since you scored on such a great item at a unbelievable price, spending a bit much to complete it should make it easier. I'm just glad that this system was found by someone who can appreciate it and not get thrown away because of the person not knowing exactly what they had. Anyway, thanks for sharing.
Crazy Joe so I have one with the saga pack his much is it worth
Your videos are really great!
Found mine in a thrift store for $7.17 several years ago with a Sega-PAC included. Never even cleaned the price off of it, still has 717 written in red crayon on the front. lol
I wouldn’t clean that off either LMAO
Great video. I hadn't even heard of this thing before
Funny seeing this today with Joe in that Coleco Chameleon Hoodie. That didn’t age well. Lol Makes me think of the Amiico now.
Enjoyed the video! Bring Joe back again!
This is nuts! Thanks for sharing.
this is really cool ! didnt know this ever existed really awesome !
Very cool episode, gentlemen!
I love this. Just found one at a thrift shop recently that was still in the plastic for $200. It was like finding the holy grail.
Where???
Holy shit if that's true you should buy a lottery ticket.
@@RemoWilliams1227 It's not unheard of for people to still find stuff in the wild... But a Brand New LaserActive, good grief. That has to be like 1 of 2 or 4 in the world. I've had fantastic deals, but nothing _that_ rare. OK, maybe the brand new copy of Tank Brigade on Atari 2600 comes close for rarity, but not desirability or value.
nice to see joe here
Cool video, it was interesting hearing about a system that I never really heard of !!!
cool episode hope to see how on more of your videos!
great video.... I really like this guest!!
more in the future please.
what is that song at the end? I remember listing it a while ago, but I forgot the name and it been stuck in my head for weeks
I love the 32X in the back. Im a big fan of that add-on.
Metal jesus wanted a hug and crazy joe only gave him a hand shake
I was actually looking for the reach-a-round...but Crazy Joe don't play dat.
dude ill hug ya lol ^_^
dont worry metal jeez, we all got ya anytime
good to see Crazy Joe guest on the show.
I really want a LaserActive but suspect it will be one of those consoles I'll never actually treat myself too, just way too expensive, but bloody awesome machine though
You sound like the chillest dude Joe! Great episode!
Retrospektif don't be fooled! He's pretty crazy as well
Nice video, I had no idea this vcr even existed haha
Great find
this channel needs more Joe
I remember when this first came out and being floored by the price. I couldn't believe how much it was going for.
That Coleco Chameleon sweatshirt though... I want one!
great vid duder
OMG Maze Mania looks awesome, I love FMV!
An amazing inexpensive weird experience
Triad Stone was called STRAHL on the 3DO. It was so cool! There were tons of different endings. I loved watching the different death animations when you didn't hit the button in time. Those were just as fun to watch if not more fun.
+MetalJesusRocks
Slightly off topic, but do the NEC/Sega LD games require ROM carts or CDs? Or can you play it with just the LD?
BlueAcid9 you play em straight off the LD!
Saw this on GameSack's channel several times, Joe went into detail about the system, and its games.
been checking out some of your videos and liked alot, id really like a video going into the 3ds eshop, i know you did one a few years ago but i think id be interesting if you did another p.s. steamworld heist looks damn good
Also i think a video regarding your take on ios gaming would be interesting, you're so focused on retro gaming i think it'd be nice to see your take on these types of games, or perhaps even what you think about ios ports like megaman x
I know these weird/obscure hardware videos don't get as many views, but they're my favorites! MJR, since you're such a computer gamer, maybe a retro computer series and the best games for each sometime?
metal jesus metal jesus, metal jesus rocks, metal jesus metal jesus, metal jesus rocks!
is what we sing during the theme song at my house
Wow this thing is crazy expensive I’ve seen laserdisc at thrift stores before and never heard of this gonna look out now thx
That awesome guys.
10:55 Google in 3D. Neat.
Love your shirt MJ.
Really looking forward to the game soon! I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition
cool dude, great vid.
Triad Stone looks or is Strahl for the 3DO. The art work is amazing, even the 3DO cover too!
Crazy Joe is tha man. MJR u need 2 feature Crazy Joe n Radical Reggie way more. How u leave him in tha Bathroom while yall film?
my dad used one of these, he used to do karaoke gigs in a local pub :)
The modules remind me of the Randall amp that had modules as well. I think there was a George Lynch & Scott Ian amp made like that.
Crazy Joe NEEDS to be the horror movie/game/anything go-to guy on MJR
This was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be lol
Quick note, it is Assemblergames...you have it in the video as Assembergames
wow!!! I saw a laser active gensis controller at my goodwill a few weeks ago it was dirty as hell.... I didn't pick it up
Coleco Chameleon...Remember when...Play again...
Member when Mike Kennedy totally shit the bed on the entire kickstarter campaign?
Joe this was great man! Seriously I have a contact that has tons of these games, 3 players and a bunch of packs. He said he will sell them to me at some point but, it's been like 3 years! I have been holding off on trying to collect for it because of that. Have you heard or experienced anything with leaking capacitors?
Retro Game Players yes! I got everything fully recapped and let me tell you there are a shit load of capacitors on this thing. not an easy task too. make sure you have someone you trust do the work
love the video man, I have a few Chinese imports wish I could play
when are you going to do a buying guide for the ps4 xbox1 and wii u
Wow really cool!!!
Very interesting! Have you ever thought about a raised table to show off the systems and games since you mostly have people standing?
Yes crazy joe!
HA nice hoodie
stryk187 I laughed when I saw it. It's more authentic than the console ever was.
I was going to say this, but you did before I could. What a joke the chameleon was.
A hoodie that actually *is* a hoodie.
So would you say its one of the few hoodies that's a better console than the console it was advertising?
Came here for Joe. Go joe!
Insert Barry photo!
Cool video. I imagine they meant like the PS3, it could do a lot of stuff. The original PS3 models could play PS1 & PS2 games on disc.
Took a minute to tear your eyes away from that angel mate back cover huh lol
( o Y o )
does the power base converter or 32x work on this?
Joseph Palma sadly no. It doesn't fit.
Crazy Joe psh sega
Jesus , Reggie and Joe .Best UA-camr
Got myself a Pioneer LaserActive in my collection
Lol the hoodie
This is by far the most awesome piece of tech I've seen. I totally love it but I guess it's almost impossible to find one for a good price.
Keep your eyes peeled at the thrift stores. These are the kind of things that will slip through the cracks
+Crazy Joe thanks for the advice
Also, stalk soccer moms lol
I've got a Gameboy Advance game called SP Advanced which has Super Mario Advance 2, 3, 4, FIFA 2004 and over 200 NES games bundled into 1 cartridge. I've never seen anyone else with this cartridge, plus I've haven't seen one on eBay
That Coleco Chameleon sweatshirt! =O Joe must love him some drama.
When I explained what it was to the old man at the shirt shop he looked me in the eye and said "how nerdy" true story.
Great video! :) I would love to know what game was shown at: 18:28 to 18:37, it looks really cool - thanks :)
Metal Jesus is like your coolest friend
What text is on Joe's Shirt under the "Coleco Chameleon" logo?
remember when, play again.
What a unique console. Not something I would ever have interest in buying, but I do love the new knowledge.
I want one it would stack nice with my pioneer vsx.
Great video as always!
Just as a heads up, there's a typo in the reference to assemblergames.com during the PC expansion pack image
Too late. Nothing I can do now ;)
That aside though, very informative! Thanks for the vid
