What is so funny is for whatever reason calcium reactors over the last 25 years have become not as popular.as dosing say ESV ? And in my experience of over 30 years always wondered why. Since I've been using one for about 25 years. So glad to see old school resurfacing to New school reefers. It is indeed the secret sauce.
Good video man! Welcome to calcium reactors! I’ve had mine running for about 6 weeks and love it so far! Looking forward to your take on dialing in the reactor and yes, I stayed to the end! 👍🏼
Great video. I started using a Reef Octopus calcium reactor 6 months ago. Been reefing for 20 years and was always intimidated by them but when the kamoer pump came out it changed the game. You are right once you get past the setup and understand the adjustments it's easier than easy. I have not touched the thing in 3 months.
Big Problem using that regulator, I tried to use that one and found out it IS NOT designed to for any back pressure. What happens eventually is the solenoid will stick open or closed. Use a Carbon doser instead.
I have a similar set up (reactor w/ secondary chamber). Did you have any issues priming the system? I am have issues pulling water from the tank into the reactor. I too have a kamoer and it is not drawing water in from the secondary chamber. Thanks for any advise. Awesome channel btw!
Thanks for the awesome video. Did you remove the pre filter sponge on the T1 carx? Also, where did you get the shelf for the Kamoer? I'm looking for ways to mount the pump above the waterline of my sump. TIA.
Now, with the calcium reactor, do you still don't do any water changes? Is so, you will mentain Red Sea Colors dosing? I'm thinking of using a CaRx myself, but will have to figure out the minor/trace elements replenish... or do water changes. Thanks for all your videos. Thay are so informative and everything is logically explained. Oh... and your tank is like from another world... but you know that 😉
Thabks so much for the kind words. As far as trace elements I am still doing Red Sea colors. When it runs out I will stop it just to see how the tank reacts. Maybe one water change ever 3 months
Thanks for these videos I have one question, if you using the Komoer pull water from the reactor to the sump, the reactor is just feeding water by pressure.? No other pump is injecting water from the tank in to the reactor? Except for the re circulation pump Thanks I will be sitting mine up this week just want to clear that question since i also see other set up using and aqualifter to get water in to the reactor
Can you please post all the equipment in your video calcium reactor. Everything your using and price. Going to try this soon. Also dose. Want to go the pro way now.😁 Thanks!
thanks for you advise, what are you using to conect the rubber tubes with the blue ro water tubes ? i need that , specialy in the kamoer pump . thank you
How did you get the kamoer to initially prime the entire system? I hooked mine up the exact same way, exact same equipt... but cannot get the Kamoer to begin pulling water through the entire system. Are you using any feed pump, or at least initially to get air bubbles out at the beginning?
I wish I would have done this from day one. It is so much easier. You can email me and I can send you a full list or wait till I make a video very soon 😊
Hi friend!! Starting my new 170g setup and looking for a good Calcium Reactor to purchase… What brand and model is hours used in this video? Any recomendation is much appreciated.. Thanks!!
Confused on ca reactor. Isn't their a pump built in to the reactor to put water through the reactor and the dosing pump pushes it to the tank. Or is that dosing pump puts water in the reactor and feeds it to tank. Just wondering how many outlets I need
Hi everyone! I just have a friendly reefer question...Does anyone know how to eliminate/remove diatoms on the live rock and sand? I’ve had the tank for about 3 weeks and it’s cycle is done. I have 1 clownfish and he’s doing great. Just those diatoms are spreading on my sand when the light is on
Tank is still way too new so it is normal. Keep up with your bi weeks water charges he’s and keep feeding down to a minimum. It will go away just give it time and DO NOT RUSH OR BE IMPATIENT
EAT SLEEP Reef, ok, thank you for the response! I have been keeping the feeding lower and the water changes are on point. I also just bought a few snails which should in theory should help
DON'T USE that regulator for a Calc Reactor. It is not designed for any back pressure. Ask me how I know? The solenoid WILL eventually sick either closed or open. I went through 3 of them. Do yourself a favor and get the Carbondoser regulator
No matter how many videos I watch the calcium reactor seems so complex. I know once it’s set it’s easy but from all these videos trying to explain how it works it definitely isn’t easy to understand.
Stayed to the end, I’m building my own acrylic calcium reactor thankyou for the info and great content. I always enjoy it
Regards Duzzy🇦🇺
This is awesome I love how your build is coming along.
Thanks

Super excited

Show us how you clean your tank sand bed. I have a little trouble doing mine and it is nothing like yours. You have one of the best tanks on UA-cam !!
Awesome bud the setup it’s looking good can’t wait to get mine and looking forward for more videos 💯👍🤟
Thanks 🤙🏼
looks amazing! I can't wait to advance in the hobby and start getting all the cool gear. Tank upgrade coming soon!

Ya I have my eye on it :)
Setup is nice and clean looking 👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks :)
Great info. It’s going to stabilize your system very well
that was an awesome video on your setup...that's definitely worth trying in the future...
Nice setup 👍🏻. Looks great
Thanks
Nice video just curious in what type of calcium reactor you are using
Can you give us a current short summary of your current equipment?
I think it has changed a lot.
Great video. Looking forward to a more detailed one as I’m looking forward to this method. But will be trying out two part first. 👍🏼
Man, tank looks awesome w/o so much blue! 👍🏼😜
😊🙌🏻
EAT SLEEP Reef - Love it bro. Never actually seen your tank like that. Looks amazing. Glad you tweak the light a little. 👌🏼👍🏼😉

Awesome video, awesome content! Are you finding much variation in your DT pH? If so, are you having to buffer?
I thing to worry about at all
beautiful your aquarium, what lamps are you using?
Dope video! welcome to the hands free reefing lol
I’m happy to be a part :)

The tank is beautiful! What do you run on your filter for the water to be clear
The clarity gets better ad tank matures typically after 1yr. Carbon helps but age is the best.
Thank you
Interesting but you didn’t cover how you are getting the water in from the tank into the reactor.
nice JOB what's the stand for Kamoer you have it on?
Thanks for these videos

I will install CR soon..water in come from same pump to the display tank or need their special pump for them?
Maybe you can brake down the total cost of your entire calcium reactor setup... Anyhow, great videos, big fan of your channel.
Why do you never show the important part hooking it up!
Can you please post all the equipment in your video calcium reactor. Everything your using and price.
Going to try this soon. Also dose. Want to go the pro way now.😁
Thanks!
Nice video man 👍👍
Thanks
Have you ever have a problem where the kamoer is picking up air bubble from the sump creating air bubbles in the calcium reactor??
What kind of fan is that above the tank? Does it keep the tank cool in the summer?
Will you still continue to dose the redsea colors program?
thanks for you advise, what are you using to conect the rubber tubes with the blue ro water tubes ? i need that , specialy in the kamoer pump . thank you

Thinking about making the change myself. Is there a complete setup I could buy? Or could you please list the parts and where to buy. Thanks
I wish I would have done this from day one. It is so much easier. You can email me and I can send you a full list or wait till I make a video very soon 😊

Hey buddy what cabinet is this with the reactor is in
I’m getting my hair cut right now and this gets released. Sorry lady, you’re going to learn about calcium reactors.
Hahahahahaha love it. We will give her a test on it LOL
Daniel Gonzalez 🤣😂😎🤟

The reactor has a pump to stir it form within and then you need a separate one to feed water from the tank. Generally people will use a doser for this
how much did you spend on your reactor setup. Total ( money out )
Nice video! What size tank you got and brand
Great info..
🤙🏼
GREAT TANK BRO 👊👍😎
Thanks 🤙🏼
I had a question what size ro tubing are you using? 1/4, 3/8?
Beau matériel !!! 👍😋👍
Can you show how you did the mod for the Kamoer pump so that is able to use RO line
I have a video here showing how I did it on a regular doser. It’s identical, that video will show step by step
Very nice 👍🏾
What rector are you using main and the second
The main is a modified T1. If you can go with a GEO Reactor. Affordable and solid. The secondary is a Avast marine
Who makes the T1
👍

Matty Ice I totally agree with you!!!!
