Great podcast/video guys! Heather... My folks are and most of the family still live from Worcester! First half on Hamilton...the other on Massaoit ... Uncle had Hudson's Spa at the top of the hill on Hamilton. Great story 👍❣️
I can’t even lie, Gary gave me the confidence to start my channel back up and this time I want to be more consistent. I’ve always started but then stopped because I was so worried about judgement from friends, and also thinking i’d blow up or gain traction after a month, but I understand now that it takes time. Anyone reading this, do what you love. You only got one life, so make it count. And yeah people might laugh, might joke, and might even roll their eyes when they constantly see your content on social media, but they’re just mad because they don’t have the courage to do what you’re doing. Do what you love, and love what you do.
Akhil Nova that’s wonderful man.. perspective is everything and whatever you can do to continue to give you the confidence. Glad to hear you are back at it.. let’s get it and lmk if I can ever help
The Puppet Master yea that can be the hardest part! Everything we do in life is based on pain vs pleasure neuroassociations. Until the pain of our current situation is greater the pain of change, we won’t change.. so you gotta get leverage!!
Great interview! I loved it when Heather said she thought she had job security when she worked for someone else, but realized later the security comes when you are the boss. I tell my coworkers we don't have job security because if our company has 2 or 3 bad quarters and don't earn money, there will be layoffs.

Hi Gary. Thank you for your inspiration. I am diagnosed with cancer today, but your speech never changes the way it encourages me. Now I have to face a different challenge, but I will keep watching your move and encouragement.
Everybody fails, especially if you start from zero. You don't know what works and what doesn't Don't give up after failing - just continue testing. You can lose, but you can learn from your experience.
The fear piece right near the end hit home. Something I've been thinking a lot about after talking to a co-worker. Really has been pushing me lately and this shit hit different. Where she said she felt the fear chipping away... Man that was me.
So true, Gary! I was scared of affiliate marketing but starting it was my best decision ever. All I did was find a great tutorial and take the first step.
Lots of content regarding fear lately, just do the thing ! There is absolutely no harm in trying and failing, but the regret in never taking your shot and never knowing is so much greater than failing. Just make something.
Tristan Stulce - Grow on Instagram I have no problem with this but some people just don’t have this mindset. They’re taught in school to do mountains of research to get an A. In school I realized that 80% of the things I’m learning I won’t need in the future so I was never one to aim for perfection but a lot of people think otherwise.
Yup, Some people never learn and wake up at 80 thinking "WTF, I was gonna do x y and z, what happened?". Last Summer was a big turning point for me, I just started tackling every fear I could and practicing shit I was bad at 100 times and BAM progress! Got my license, practiced driving, challenged myself to go on the slingshot, skysraper and then skydive. Asked some women out. Got used to failure and rejection. Pushed myself in the gym and got stronger. This part might not be for everyone but I also got in touch with an escort(Inexperience is a bitch).

Please follow your side hussle!! I'm so grateful the day I was made redundant (4 years ago), that made me start my own business and have to make it work (as a mum of 2) otherwise I would have never taken the leap.
This video is super awesome. I love that Heather found her way to entrepreneurialism despite her circumstances. And the way she landed on the Elvis show, I am here for it! Just goes to show: you gotta put one foot in front of the other and keep moving!
Gary! That is exactly!!!!! What I needed to hear! Judge the judger. Don't let anyones opinion of you override your opinion of yourself. Headed back to work after 6 weeks of being off for surgery and I have learned a great deal from you and have an entire notebook of upcoming UA-cam videos and ideas and have embarrassingly already started 😯😯😯. Thanks for what you do. Six weeks is a long time to collect your thoughts and redirect your focus and feel great about life. My concern has been dealing with people who are very sharp with their words....and the last two minutes of this videos is exactly what I needed. I'm very comfortable with who I am and what I am about. And! I have had the concept in my head for weeks, but you just verbalized it for me and I am super ecstatic. Thanks man!
thank you for bringing Heather to your podcast.I always tought andsort of hoped to be pushed from my job to not have any other choice left but to jump in a new experience
I love the conversation at the end of this video talking about others opinions. That is something I strive to do and care more about the opinions from people that know me and not put so much stock in those that don't.
I used have strong aversion to rejection. But I feel that the more you are devoted to something, the less you are likely to be affected by rejection. I got the feeling in a recent training. I can tell the difference between when I was asking without doing enough homework and when I was asking after I made an extra effort. It's such a good feeling of "I'm working harder than anyone and failure doesn't taste as bitter." It's counterintuitive but it's what I really feel. I want to feel like this every day for the rest of my life.
I DEEEEEEEEEPLY appreciate this. *hitsreplay ..especially about the vulnerable reach out and keeping it real. I've personally had a really hard time asking for help and not because of pride its more out of a, "am i good enough to even ask". And THATS what keeps me stuck....that im now taking ownership because its my shit not others. So its getting over my own self. Im good at being like fuck the rest, the noise... whats everyone else doing... i don't care about that, and that feels good... im the one I look at everyday, and im calling myself out. So THANKYOU to the both of you.... really effing appreciate this!! Love. ❤
This was such a dope and inspiring interview to hear her story of losing a great corporate position to jumping into entrepreneurship at an older age. Props to her and Gary V for providing this content!💯
22:40 Stepping into fear is probably one of the best things you can do in your entire life. It's scary at first and you see things in like a funnel. Overtime the more you do it, you gradually see the entire picture of what you are doing. 90% of the best decisions of my life were because I tackled fear directly and challenged myself.
One thing I’d hate is to see a crap-ton of Empathy Wine ads after watching Gary’s video. One thing I love is passively being reminded I wanted to order it just because it’s sitting on that table and she mentioned Chardonnay. 👍🏼👍🏼
this video came to me at the perfect time. This is perfect Gary not just for me but this info is great for my loved ones to share this feedback and knowledge.
I think you have to be dynamic just like Gary's personality is. We get so stuck thinking we have to be one type of way, because really we think it helps other people understand us better, but it's limiting. I'm starting to see the way Gary works and have started implementing it in my own life. Being extroverted sometimes but then being introverted other times. Being loud then being quite. Being care-free then being serious af. It's only when you operate from that framework, you can start letting go of who you desperately want to hold onto. The fact is you are going to change, and you should change everyday if you want to. Fear, to get to the point of the video, requires that you change and stop holding onto your past self. We're afraid to let go of who we "think" we are. Just get over it and start becoming malleable. You've got nothing to lose if that becomes your new norm.
When it comes to haters and critical comments, always audit the source. Not every voice merits credibility and many just create mental clutter that slows your roll to success. Don’t tell me what I should do until you show me what you can do. 💪🏼💯
Great episode Gary! Judge the judger really stuck with me. I also loved the part where you discuss how you can always find ways to do more and grow your business, like with the twitter and search for intern. Awesome as always, thank you! Much love ❤️
Gary, I just subscribed and liked this video. I have a lot in common with you and Heather, but, I was fired from my position due to health issues. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia back in late 2013 and it was a huge struggle to get out of bed each day. Anyway, I grew up with the exact mindset that the two of you had; work and retire from the same company that you started with. I never knew what and "entrepreneur" was when growing up. Both my maternal grandmother and mother were entrepreneurs, one sold Avon and the other, Home Interiors. I started working when I was around 10 or 11?? babysitting, cooking, cleaning, and working for my mother, stocking items, taking inventory, putting bagging items. Overall, I was making good money for throughout my young life. I had money hidden all over my bedroom, lol. I've always wanted to follow in my grandmother's and mother's footsteps in "working for myself, so, now that I am disabled, I am forced to work for myself as I can no longer work from a work office, so, I'm building my own home office. I've been an insurance agent now for 2.5 years, hating cold calling. I'm slowly getting past the "objections". Last thing, you are absolutely right about the fear of cold calling, warm calling and so forth until you do it then it becomes easier and you laugh at how fearful you were about with individuals. I'm very empathic and humble, because I know what it's like to literally loose everything due to a disease and life long injuries incurred by being in the military. And, my parents always told me to "walk a mile" in other people's shoes. Hope this made sense. Stay safe and God Bless
Thanks you so much Gary VEEEEEE you’re the best because of you’re free advice and knowledge I started my own podcast on UA-cam about what I love ❤️ not about what is popular ⭐️
A lot of my bigger shows I’m a bit scared of. I feel with bigger audiences I need a bit of reassurance that they are enjoying it. I love being on stage and hearing an audible cheer between tricks or jokes even when making my way on stage. It’s intimidating sometimes when an audience of 600 is quiet but after the show people run up to you and say your show is amazing. I know how to get through a show with high energy but it just feels better to flow with the show if I can hear my audience reacting to what I’m doing. The moment a crowd gets too quiet I get this stomach drop feeling and I immediately think it’s going bad when it’s not.
I feel that. I learned a cool way to deal with that... Detached from the outcome. Don't worry about the result and TRUST that you will be able to create something great. Go in with the intention of just giving value and having FUN. Don't worry about their opinions and the quality until the end when you are REVIEWING your performance. I hope that could be of value to you.
Tyler Bow Hudson I listen to all advice! Thank you! I just did a show over the summer and the crowd was popping then I went to St.Louis and the crowd wasn’t that all there I feel. Thank you for reaching out 🙏 always trying to excel myself on screen and in live performances!
This may be the best content I've seen of yours. And its maybe the last thing I'm going to consume... Im trying to start posting as of tomm, well, now today, instead of consuming as much.. cheers.
omgg i legit have the same mindset whenever I get called over for something. for example, when I was in high school and the teacher called me to come over to speak about something, I would think of the worst scenario and shit my pants but that would be micro thought. the macro would be that it's okay, there will also be a good reason for whatever happens and I can move on from it.
Hahah this is so funny, I used to work as Sales executive at Hotel industry and everytime the called me to the general manager office, I was so happy because I knew they had a project that they could solve how to get, and my job was to closed that deal; I did on all of them, but ones they called me for something different, the CFO didn't want to pay my commissions from my best client. Anyway I didn't get fired but I resigned a couple of months later. After that I had the worse financial year of my life but push me to get into online business. Now I look back and I feel so proud of try my best and move away as the new perspective is way way bigger than it was 5 years ago when I had that experience... Thanks for the content heather and gary!!
I'm trying to figure out how to speed up my content creation for UA-cam/social media as per Gary's advice. As a musician, as I'm aiming to be a performing professional guitarist, I'm not focusing on putting out tutorial-style content that teaches guitar, but I'm putting up performances of full songs that I've learned/arranged that I would be able to perform live as well, so it is something that is not easy to scale or produce in bulk or in great quantity everyday...
Yup, Saks pays via ‘draw vs commission’ which is an unfortunately legal pay structure that allows for companies to pay employees only in commission. If you don’t make enough commission they give you a ‘draw’ which you have to pay back to the company from your future commission.
So I noticed some thumbs down...wtf. how the hell can anyone hate real value conversations. For me, I know I need to be on social platforms and I'm stepping up to make content daily starting now. I'm very successful but not satisfied. I can do better. I love this program and her journey, I can relate so much to it. Btw, was I the only one that thought the person that fired her was really, intimidated by her? 👍👍
I just had a thought that I would share I wrote it down so that I could repeat it to you when you were speaking about algorithms and how like you're not going to spam anybody it made me realize that that the fear may not be negative comments but rather not being seen in a fishbowl is worse than not being seen at all..

Thanks you so much Gary VEEEEEE you’re the best because of you’re free advice and knowledge I started my own podcast on UA-cam about what I love ❤️ not about what is popular ⭐️
he's the man!
Tyler Bow Hudson yes 🧡⭐️
Everything comes from experience. More you on the stage - more you're confident.
SEO Tools TV I’m getting there
Tyler Bow Hudson I listen to all advice!

I totally agree! Gary's the man!
Amazing! :) Thank you!
Great Podcast!!!
First heard of Gary Vee first half of 2019. Just heard of Heather Monahan today, 11/24/2019.
Same here
**RESPECT GARY** From the tears to the cheers #chrispalmerseo
hell yeah!
@@jaay3283 yES SIR !
awesome hook at the beginning @teamgaryvee
Definitely!
That's great that u have somewhere to start :)
@@jesuscorona8861 Thank you! You're right, focus on the positives. Hope that you're on a path meaningful to you too :)
You're awesome bro! Love the confidence you have!
Looking behind the scene is a great advice. Thanks (Big Player Pen)
Conquering your fears sets the pathway towards success
Loved this interview!!!
Same same!!!
Love this interview! Absolute confidence boost 😎💪🤓
Good stuff! Vulnerability Is an asset, only if you learn to leverage it! Growth lies past that divides comfort from fear...
I totally agree! Gary's the man!
You put it perfectly
Holy cow heather is amazingly well spoken and strong plus gorgoeus!
Thanks for this video in 2020!!!
I definitely agree! 👍
Thank you. I hope you have a great day.
Great vid Gary, totally enjoyed it, thanks!
Yup, Saks pays via ‘draw vs commission’ which is an unfortunately legal pay structure that allows for companies to pay employees only in commission. If you don’t make enough commission they give you a ‘draw’ which you have to pay back to the company from your future commission.
I really wanted to hear the rest of her story about the choice between the two memos. I wish you had let her finish her thought and let her speak.
Exalt Video yea it was really interesting!!
A few thumbs down yes idk why
boom!
I just had a thought that I would share I wrote it down so that I could repeat it to you when you were speaking about algorithms and how like you're not going to spam anybody it made me realize that that the fear may not be negative comments but rather not being seen in a fishbowl is worse than not being seen at all..
