⚠️ G25 is the best engine choice here. be careful with Skyactiv-X engines: 1️⃣ they are overcomplicated, they add many things that can break up, like compressor with electromagnetic clutch, egr, particle filter (to prevent compressor from damages by exhaust particles because of recirculation...) 2️⃣ they suppose to run on very lean mixtures, but most of the time they don't despite spcci. as tested, the air-2-fuel ratio was only slightly above 14.7, like 16-18 for most of the time, the peak we managed was 26:1, but mazda was speaking about 36:1 .. no way. 3️⃣ as a result, fuel efficiency was average to say at least. not great, not terrible. the same for performance. actually, CX-30 with X is a mild-hybrid, I'd expect lower fuel consumption and better performance ... not happening. 4️⃣ those new engines are quite untested in real world, so long-term reliability is unknown.
@@moeanthony9308 I don't wanna hate Skyactiv-X engines, I'd welcome if they prove reliable. They looked very promising on the paper, but in reality they don't quite deliver. I couldn't find any significant benefits that would outweight my concerns about reliability (egr and particle filter - they are p.i.t.a. technology). But all this is just my humble opinion. Anyone can disagree.
From what I garnered so far, the skyactiv-X is not really that complicated, having only three extra components - in cylinder sensors, a supercharger and inter-cooler. The supercharger(depending on type) should be much simpler than turbo charger since unlike turbo charger, some types of supercharger do not need an oil feed from the engine. Meaning even your engine oil has less work, better for engine, yet the performance and economy is there
@@bellini2535 you're right about superchargers, generally they are more reliable and easier to maintain than turbos. but sc in skyactiv-x has electromagnetic clutch - which itself adds a lot of complexity in terms of calibration, ECU software, and requires quite complicated signal modulation to engage. I don't know why Mazda decided not to use bypass valve instead, but they surely had their reasons. besides, you forgot about egr and particle filter. the purpose of egr is quite obvious, but here comes the particle filter - one reason Mazda put it there is to prevent sc from damages because of egr. imho, here's the weak point: since cx-30 is urban crossover, it will probably drive short distances, with many engine starts - and that's the scenario where particle filter and egr suffer most. once pf or egr fails (I've seen what's going on in egr valve and I'm cleaning mine once every year), sc can fail as a result. besides, one of cylinder sensors fails and whole engine asks for big trouble. again I emphasize - it's opinion of my own, but I'd never buy skyactiv-x.
I just purchased a 2020 Mazda CX 30 2.5L FWD Astina. Having traded in my Mazda 2015 CX 5 Maxx Sport AWD . The CX 30 is just a fantastic SUV in my opinion. Its ideal for us as I did not want a CX 3 ( too small) and I did not want a CX 5 ( too big) . CX 30 is ideal. Just wish Mazda would have installed a 12V cigarette lighter power source for my portable fridge in the boot area like the CX 5. .
On two occasions the reviewer said that this is available in either four wheel drive or all wheel drive. It is actually either front wheel drive or all wheel drive.....
Mazda need to make the cladding body coloured -- its worse than the CX-5 in thickness, big eyesore. Stone leather interior is very good looking. Uphill overtaking, not great with the NA engine.
My Mazda 3 has high touch screen and central console knob, and the screen is closer. The touch screen can't be used when going over a certain speed. Imo this new Non touch screen on the cx30 is a major disappointment. Telsas are only touch screen. Mazda should give people a choice. Apple car play without a touchscreen wouldn't be fun to use.
I believe at 7:13 you showed the Interior of the Mazda 3 with a manual gearbox, because the CX30 does not come with a manual gearbox... confusing for people who are looking at buying this car. Is offeret as a manual in Europe however! Otherwise, good video all round! Keep up the good work! :)
2:20 it can be in four wheel drive or all wheel drive? Does not make any sense you should have said front wheel drive and all wheel drive LOL if you can t tell the difference you shouldn't be reviewing cars.
If you have a family this is not the car for your main vehicle. CX5 is more suited for that role. It's good for picking up the kids from school and that's about it. In otherwords, a good second car....bit pricey though.
Big car with tiny space especially at the rear!! Ideal for singles or couples without children. Boot space is also limited compared to its rivals. Other than that, it’s a good looking car!
FWD is front wheel drive not Four Wheel Drive… but still a good review
Great balanced review as always......keep up the good work! Have just reserved a 2023 CX-30 for delivery at the end of January.

I never knew that. Thanks for sharing. I know the early new kodo design had fuel pump issues.

Yup caught that too
Front looks like a MG Zs EV to me.
Nice looking car just like the presenter. ❤
Good review and not a bad choice if your upgrading from a Mazda 3 and your not huge fan of the current model.
Success of one model can give birth to another with further improvements, why not. Great car.
"Four wheel drive or all wheel drive" (02:22). Same thing missy!!
front wheel drive and All wheel drive.
Another test with no mention of consumption ?

Great review! @5:44 I'm like you, it often takes me a few drives to get used to the intuitive features.
I just booked it cx30 2.0 Sp 100th limited edition😊
8:50 Epilepsy warning please.
Is this model open the side mirror automatically when you open the driver door?
I'm a Canadian, and seeing how much cars cost in Australia scares me. Is your dollar that undervalued?
Yup
Really pretty, nice, sexy looks. And the car looks ok too...
Beautiful road in your country! ❤️
Love this car! Students should get a discount xD
Why?
It looks perfect for me.
And the purpose of the high heels were…….?
i want the mx-30 so bad

48K for a Crossover, let alone a Mazda? 🤣😂 but on the serious side, looking really good Amelia 👍
I think Car Tell TV needs a better Videographer now. Great Review but the reviewer is out of focus heaps of times LOL. That is so lame
They dont have the 360 camera here in the US 😒. that would have been the deal breaker imo
Why is driving on the right?
Why don't we get the Skyactiv X?
Hi from the Philippines, it seems we get the same engine options as Australia.
no need to be eager about skyactiv-x. they may not be that great - look at my comment why ;)
Will get it soon.
AWD & 4WD models? You should check your script.

Hey Opelman, that's the interior of a CX30 AWD.
@@dobar_dam Yeah i realised when i saw the Number plate of the red CX-30 was from Great Britain.
Looks like you're more concerned about modeling the new Gold shoes over reviewing the Mazda !!
Maybe make a 7 seat the size of the likes of land rover discovery sport and skoda kodiaq, with manual gearbox option
Really I like the car so mush but the only problem in my opinion is about the Radiator on the front !! Any simple accident will be worse😅😅
I have one, it has some space behind plastic grill so mechanicals may survive. But agree, one tap and bumper and grill will be cactus....
cars in Australia is so cheap.......guess who has the most expensive car price in the world? Singapore, followed by Malaysia
I like the cladding
Mazda's are a bit common now. They all look the same. But let's be honest, anything is better then that ugly duckling called the Rav4.

Who would you recommend this car to?
Noone

Yeah Mazda’s cars usually don’t utilise the space very well compared to other brands
A cool lady and a car.
Amelia: I don't know, but I've been told
a big-legged woman ain't got no soul.
No turbo No
No se que dijiste sobre auto... estuve perdido en tu belleza!!!
Eres Hermosa Amelia!!! Te Amo...
If I saw a grown man drive this i would know his wife is the boss.
Your acting isn't gonna win any awards
😘😍🤗😂
It’s just a Cx3 akera. Seriously a cx30?? The radioactive waves from Fukushima has finally affected the engineers in Mazda Jp
